I'm a little confused, please help me
There is just sooooo soooo much I am reading through but if the answer to my question is there, I'm missing it.
I have had a subscription for a while, about $3 per month to be able to call people's home phones from my computer on Skype.
I just purchased a subscription to my own phone number now for 1 year so that I have a number and people can call me through Skype on my computer.
Does the phone number subscription cover the outgoing calls too, or do I have to continue paying for the separate subscription for outgoing calls in order to make them?
Basically, do I need the 2 separate subscriptions (the incoming #, the outgoing calls) or am I double-paying?

Yes, you would need to make two purchases. One for the Online Number to receive calls from telephones to your Skype account, and the other for a subscription to make calls to telephones from your Skype account. Other than possibly being able to use the Online Number as your Caller ID when calling telephones from Skype, Online Numbers give you nothing for calling telephones from Skype.

I have installed the new up to date itunes which i can open on my PC, however when i connect my ipad or iphone i get an error saying i cannot use the device as the require software isn't installed?? I'm very confused please help......
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?

I downloaded a song on iTunes, it won't play (it's name is grey), it shows up in purchased and says "play", but it won't play, I can't delete it, and I can't re-download it.....this is confusing please help!!

It sounds like there’s a grayed out song in your iTunes library that can’t be played or downloaded again like other past purchases. Try taking a look at the article linked below and verify the computer is authorized to play that content.

Songs appear to be missing
Songs containing DRM (Digital Rights Management) might not appear in iCloud, or might appear grayed out. This can occur if your computer is not authorized to play that content. Try authorizing your computer, then manually update iTunes Match. To determine what Apple ID your computer needs to be authorized for to play a specific song:
Locate and select the song in your iTunes library.
Choose File > Get Info.
In the Summary tab, locate the Account Name field in the right column. Write it down.
Click OK.
Choose Store > Authorize this Computer.
Type in the account name from the Summary field and enter its password. Click Authorize.
Choose Store > Update iTunes Match.

My mum has upgraded to the iPhone 5, she has given me her 4S with a new contract etc. the problem is all her contacts are still on here and calendar dates etc . All from her iCloud account. I have my own account but I don't know how to get my phone on that without deleting her iCloud account entirely and from all devices and her new phone. Please help, I'm probably confusing things more but I really need some help
Just delete her iCloud account from (now) your iPhone 4s - doing so will delete it from your phone and your phone only. It will do nothing to any of her devices with her iCloud account set up on them.
Then login in with your iCloud account login to set up your iCloud account on that iPhone 4S.
If you want to set up the iPhone 4s with a clean slate, just delete her iCloud account, then go into general settings, under the reset tab and select "erase all content and settings". Then run through the activation and setup dialogues with your own information. -
Printing photos I am confused, please help
I am a little confused as to how to best send you the
prints in the correct format.
If I go through and under the edit function of each
individual photo I want to send to be printed manually
crop it and constrain it to 4X£ (as recommended by
Apple) does this permanantly leave t in the correct
aspect and size for the printing process? I ask this
because if I then revert to the organise function and
then back into edit the condtrain has reverted back to
"NONE". If I then constrain to 4X3 again the picture
loses even more off of it and this process can
continue until a lot of the subject matter has been
cropped.
So the question I am asking is if I go into the edit
function once and constrain it to 4X3 then crop the
result does that remain (unless I revert to original)
in the correct format (aspect and size) to send to be
printed without losing any more of my picture ?
Secondly Is this something I have to do picture by

Thirdly why does a photo I have taken on a digital
camera have to be ammended into a 4X3 format fo

Lastly, If I want a print of a pictue I have
contrained (to 4X3) and then cropped printed in
different sizes e.g 4X6 and 7X5 is the whole picture
going to get printed in both sizes ?Always go back the origianl file EVERY time you crop. Keep in mind that when you do crop, IPHOTO saves another file with that crop, It doesn't save over the original. Like peter said, if you keep cropping cropped images they will started coming out pixelated (you can start to see the pixels)
Yes it is something you have to do picture by picture, but only if you want to. You can print without cropping in any size, but the default center crop on some image sizes may cause you to lose some of your print. (ie a little bit off the top and bottom on a 4x6)
So if you have subject detail right at the top and bottom of your image, it is best to crop. -
Internet... im so confused, please help
I just bought my macbook and i am about to start my first year of college... i want wireless internet but have no clue how it works or what i need to buy? Do i need a modem, and if so what is it? i do not want dial up or i dont have cable to hook it up to.. please help!

A modem is a small unit that converts either a cable or a phone signal to something that your computer can use. When you subscribe to a high-speed internet connection, the provider (eg, Verizon, Optimum, Road Runner) includes a modem with the package. It plugs into either your cable line or your phone line, and your computer (or wired router or wireless base station) plugs into it.
Your wireless card will only give you connection to the internet if you're in range of a wireless network. It's not like a cellphone where you can basically get service anywhere. For example, you can go to wi-fi cafes and get an internet connection (sometimes free, sometimes charged), but you usually can't stand in the middle of the street and connect to a public network (although some cities do have areas of public wifi, such as parks).
My recommendation is to check with your college to see what they offer in terms of internet connections.

I was able to text my friend to her number but now that I have updated my iPhone it shows that it's an iMessage when I text her to the same number, I know that with iMessages you have to turn on your Internet but I'm texting her to her same number so it shouldn't be an iMessage. Can someone please help?

HDV iMovie 08, Lots of Discussions, Lots of confusion, please help!
OK. First of all, my apologies if this has already been addressed, and if someone could direct me to the appropriate discussion it would be highly appreciated. OK, say you have a small little entry level HD camcorder like an Airtek A-HD (720p). OK, it stores clips as .mov, iPhoto imports when connected, then I start iMovie 08 and it sees the .mov clips in iPhoto and brings them over to iMovie 08 to start a new project or whatever. OK. So I string the clips together and export them to Quicktime. My settings are .H264, Quality High, Encoding mode multi-pass, dimensions 1280X720. I open up quick time, play my recently made HD movie clip and when I click on info about this particular quicktime clip it shows: 1280X720 H.264. So I am confused, what am I losing as far as quality and when am I losing it? How is iMovie physically handling it when I am importing this clip, does iMovie 08 turn it into 960X540 as some have suggested for editing and then export it based on my own preferences i.e. back to H.264 and 1280 X 720? Do I lose anything if it does change my original clip to 960 X 540? How will this effect my work using a 1080i Camcorder? I'm confused, perhaps I will stumble on some answers as I delve into some online and other resources, but until then any help or info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm confused please help me...using airport to extend network
I bought an apple airport extreme base station a few days ago. I was told I could use it to extend my networks range. I currently have tv Internet and phone through xfinity/Comcast. My xfinitity router is an SMC and I need to use it cuz the phone runs off it. I live in a 4 level townhome and it's range *****. Doesn't work in all rooms on the 4th floor. So I bought the base station and hooked it up to the SMC via an Ethernet and thought I set up right. But I noticed the range didn't improve so I opened the airport utility on my MacBook pro I clicked on the base station on the next window under wireless under a drop down I chose "extend network" or something like that. It said wait a few moments for update then I got an error. So I called apple to ask what I was doing wrong and they said I couldn't use an airport to extend the network of a 3rd party router. Not unless I put them in different rooms and connected them with a super long Ethernet. So now I'm confused is that right? All I want is a better signal in my house. Please someone help me and explain to me how I make that happen..
I wasn't able to figure out how to set up the roaming network.
It is the same thing that you have set up now except you use the same wireless network name, same security settings and password as the "main" router and make sure that Bridge Mode is being used.
We can easily troubleshoot this if you want.
Now I'm just wondering if I could have done the same thing with the cheaper express base station?
You could, but it would not be dual band operation like you have now, and no more than 10 wireless clients would be able to connect to the AirPort Express. You also have available Ethernet ports on the AirPort Extreme in case you need to connect a device that way. In addition, the Extreme has a much better Wi-Fi antenna than the Express. -
Iplanet proxy plugin issue; simple but iam confused; Please Help !!

Iam using Iplanet proxy plug-in with BEA weblogic6.1. In simple terms. the iplanet webserver proxies any dynamic requests to the application tier(wls6.1)
And we have configured the proxy plug-in to show the debugging information on to __WebLogicBridgeConfig page.
Now, could somebody explain more about the "requests:" and "successful requests:" that is been shown on the iplanet proxy plugin's __WebLogicBridgeConfig ???
I mean i understand that "requests:" are the Total # of request that proxy plugin received. And "successful requests:" are the # of requests that went pass through to the wls server. But what happen to the requests which are UN successful requests .....i have seen the fugures like this:
"requests:2000" "successful requests:1900"
then what happened to these 2000-1900=100 requests.....why is there difference and why does this happen???
how can calculate these UNsuccessful requests in my iplanet proxy logs ???
please advise. I would really really appreciate your help on this.

GB confusion, PLEASE HELP ME =(
i have the old iPod nano, not the new colorful ones .. its 2GB but on my iTunes it says the capacity is 1.82GB.
a 2GB is supposed to hold 500 songs & my iPod only holds exactly 364 songs, which becomes really annoying because thats 146 songs that i can't listen to on my iPod.
I just really don't understand that, and if anyone can help me, please do so =)
Windows XPThe OS accounts for a few mbs of storage space.
It's the way that storage space is calculated by manufacturers, and the way that computers read it differently.
Read this. Although it refers to hard drives (and the nano has flash memory), the calculations are the same, and that accounts for the so called "missing space". The decimal/binary difference affects all types of storage including both hard drives and flash memory.

As to the 500 songs, bear in mind that Apple quotes the number of songs you are able to store on any iPod by using the AAC format at a bitrate setting of 128kbps and for a 4 minute song. Any variation on these settings/timings will vary the amount of songs you are able to store on your iPod.
Look in iTunes under edit/preferences/advanced/importing. What does it say in settings and import using? -
I have followed the instructions on the apple website to transfer my itunes library to my new PC. I have done this twice and although all of my music migrates, my playlists do not. Not sure whats going wrong any help would be greatly appreciated....
Are you copying over the iTunes Library.itl file and other supporting files in the iTunes folder, as well as the media folder iTunes Media? See Make a split library portable for some background.

I can download apps free and buy it comes up with my Id but when I want to update them it comes up with the old owners Id :( please help
Resetting cleanses the iPhone of all content, and you can easily restore the apps associated with your Apple ID. Make a list of all apps, the go to the app store and download all of the free apps. Tap Purchases to download those you purchased with your Apple ID. Those leftover purchased apps are from the other Apple ID and you will have to purchase under your own ID.
A backup will cause problems with the email and such unless you have taken all of the previous owners accounts off the iPhone.
Once setup as your own, by all means backup to iCloud...that is safe and secure. -
Totally Confused - Please help..
The code below is my page. Now.. every time I submit this form it sees v_yesno as neither yes OR no (i've changed the if statement to see if it sees no as well).. I wanted to see if my v_yesno variable was returning yes or no so I did a redirect... now when redirects it goes to page.jsp?id=yes. (OR "NO" depending). When someone chooses YES, and submits the form is not recognizing the value "yes".. but when I spit out the value of v_yesno it's value is "yes". So I'm unsure why my if statement is not seeing the "yes". -

also when i connect to my wifi and go to my browser i am not certain my phone is browsing using my wifi i believe its using my data how can i tell if this is the case

LiamAnything you download (ie new apps from the app world, emails, bbm messages) will come out of your 100MB allowance unless you are connected to wifi.
If your phone is connected to wifi then the device will route all data via the wifi rather than the carrier network by default.
