I'm an architecture student, which macbook should i buy?

thinking about buying 13" macbook pro retina display for architecture. But some people say that program such as autocad wont run well on the 13" model. The 15" is very expensive for me

Talk with the School of Architecture where you are attending. Ask the professors, IT Support, and other students what they recommend. Personally I would have a hard tine looking at or working with graphics using a 13" display.

Depends on how you want to use it. Flash storage on the newer macbook and macbook air are built in. A macbook air is the most light weight and a very good machine. It will do all you want it to do unless you are running some very intensive programs. If you go to the apple store on line you can compare  the different macbook pro" and macbook Air's.

  • Aspiring Photographer, Which MacBook should I buy?

I'm looking for which MacBook I should buy (Air vs. Pro vs. Retina; 13" vs. 15"). I'm aspiring to become a photographer and hopefully get to travel around the world. I don't care at all about weight of the MacBook; if I have to lug it around, then I will. I just wish for it to have enough battery life that'll get me through the day (maybe a movie or two for plane rides), fast, great screen resolution, and quite a lot of memory to store my photos as well as editing them. I am making the switch from a Windows PC and this will be the second Apple product I will have ever purchased (first being an iPod Touch). I am in no hurry to buy one and price will definitely be taken into consideration. Duly note that I don't speak 'computer', so as much as possible I request that suggestions and comparisions be typed in simpler terms. Thank you for help and the time it took for you to read/respond to my question ^-^. Have a wonderful day ^-^.

The MacBook Air is still my favourite. It has the newest features, and its battery life and light weight are two important features the others can't match.
The Retina display is undeniably gorgeous, but that's the extent of its appeal. The MBA's display is very sharp and more than adequate for every imaginable purpose. Everyone who picks up my MBAs remark on how light they are. That doesn't surprise me any more, but it is the one Mac I use most often, probably owing to its portability. I can count on at least three days of battery life during occasional use. Configured the way you indicate, it will almost certainly suffice for the duration of your undergraduate work and is unlikely to become obsolete for years thereafter.

  • Which macbook should i buy 13 or 15?

i want to buy macbook pro.i m confused which macbook i have to buy.i m entering into ios application developing.
    i use my macbook pro
    1)iphone,ipad applications development.
    2)video editing.
    3)web surfing.etc
    thanks in advance

If you're comfortable with the specs of the 13", and like the 13" form factor, then I see no reason why you shouldn't go with the 13".
While the 15" features more raw processing speed (quad-core processors rather than dual-core and a descrete graphics card that would speed up GPU-intensive tasks), I don't see in your list that you would actually need that type of power.
The 13" will run Xcode quite well and you should look into Apple's iOS Developer's membership for aids to hone your iOS programming skills.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Architecture student, Which MacBook Pro should I buy?

I want to buy a macbook pro, i'm going to study architecture, but I don't know which model is the best one to run AutoCad and other architecture programs.
    I think I need a i7 chip, but I don't know if the 13-inch MBP i7 dual-core 8gb Ram or 15-inch MBP i7 Quad-core 4Gb Ram, what do you think?

Well I got the MBP 13" 2.9 GHz. I weighed all the options the price differences and pros and cons. I'm am very happy with my dission.
The Retina was way out of price range for what you get. The ability to no upgrade unit was a huge turnoff. And to buy it fully loaded was not even worth it. I don't have that kinda dough to throw around, and I think it highly over rated. It's new and has a wow factor, but does not make sense. Millions of great photos connived and edited before retina display, so to say its needed or worth it at that price is not logical for me.
The 15" was a close to me, but $700 difference out of pocket still was not sure for me after selling my old MPB. portability was issue, and if my old 13" MBP did my editing ok in PS CS5 and Lightroom 4 then the new 13" should be no problem.
    What I got:
I got MBP 13" 2.9MHz i7. I figured it have a better resale value in long run over the 2.3MHz i5.
the size is perfect as I travel all the time. I'm a pilot full time so it fits in my camera bag perfect.
I added my already owned 256GB SSD drive in it, and upgraded to 16GB RAM for $110. It's amazing fast. 4 sec open PS CS6.
I have been using it to edit my photos in LTR4 and PS CS6, no problem and fast. In the 14 days owned I have not even opened the cover of my laptop, it's always been used on external 27" display. So money saved I upgraded my gear New CF Cards, USB 3.0 HUB, USB 3.0 Card Reader, USB 3.0 External Hadrive.  Still money saved, cause I sold all my old USB and Drives and Cardsbon EBay too.  The USB 3.0 was main reason I upgraded, it's worth it to. 3.0 makes a differencebandni can see the transfer speed differences. So much faster.
So theres my reasons for doing what I did.

Likely the 15" with a anti-glare screen is your puppy.
Powerful, can run 3D games, can see the screen while outside or overhead classroom lights, a very fine machine capable of doing plenty.
I have the 17" and it's a monster, can run three or four operating sytems at once.

  • Which Macbook should I buy for music recording and production?

I'm a musician and I would really like a Mac for my recording and production. I'm going to be going to college in Australia next summer, so I need something a little more compact. I'm thinking 13 inch. I was looking at this Macbook pro Refurbished 13.3-inch MacBook Pro 2.5GHz Dual-core Intel Core i5 with Retina Display - Apple Store (U.S.). Keep in mind that I do not have all of the money in the world, as I am just a college student. Thank you for your help!

The 13" MBAir could be lighter to tote and the extra $100 to upgrade the RAM to 8GB's is well worth the investment and handle all the tasks you mentioned.

  • Which MacBook should I buy?

So I'm in the market to buy a new laptop. I will mostly be using it for Web Browsing, Word Processing, Some movie editing (light) and gaming. I'm also looking for an SSD. In terms of games, I am more of a casual gamer, but I do not like lag, therefore the graphics card must be decent. Especially the fact that I will be mostly playing Battlefield, I need a laptop that can handle the game without any lag. The major factors are portablility, performance, and most importantly, speed. I do not really mind if I go with the 15 or 13. I have a budget of around $2000. What laptop (with SSD) would be best for my uses? Thanks in advance.

Decent graphics card == 15" model perforce, Retina or Regular.
    SSD from Apple == expensive
Maybe a 15" regular, with standard base RAM and HDD, replace those  later with third party alternatives at a much reduced cost?

    Snow Leopard 10.6 Technical Requirements - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
You can buy Snow Leopard at:
Snow Leopard disc source - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
You could contact Apple Support and see if they have the original discs for that machine but it would be 10.4.11 and there's no reason not to go to at least Snow Leopard, especially since the 10.6 discs would probably cost the same as a replacement set of 10.4.11

  • I want to buy a mac and i am confused between macbook air 13 inch and i mac. which one should i buy

actually i am new to mac so i am confused between macbook air 13 inch and i mac. which one should i buy? i will be installing windows 2 on it..

An MBA is a portable while an iMac is a desktop and is not portable. You could install Windows on either provided each had sufficient memory installed and a large enough hard drive. The iMac is better equipped for this from the outset, but the MBA can be adequately configured if you are willing to spend the money to do so.

I want to buy an ipad for someone that lives in Brazil. Which carrier should i buy so that it will work with the carriers in Brazil?

Look, any officially unlocked GSM iPhone will work in India. You purchase from Dubai, no FaceTime, and Dubai is part of the UAE. You purchase anywhere but India, and you will have NO warranty or support. Frankly, doesn't make any sense to me why you want to do this...and don't bother telling me you save hundreds of dollars...still doesn't make any sense. Do a forum search here. We get posts daily, from users in India, who didn't purchase their iPhones in India...guess what? They all have problems. You want to join that bunch? It's your money, have at it.

which product should I buy? I want to create vintage/retro posters for band and Bar

    Good day!
Instead of buying right away you may want to avail yourself of the free 30 day trial first to see which program fits your needs.
Photoshop and Photoshop Elements may be worth a try.
If you intend to create more graphic/typographic designs Illustrator may be worth looking into, too.
Someone else may have more/other recommendations, though.
