  • I keep getting this message "Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded" and I dont' know which settings I need to change.

Would you please provide me with an answer.

That is a message from the Windows OS, Firefox is not giving you this message. Your security settings are local to your computer & windows itself, so you need to look in your IE or Internet Explorer's security settings.

    Hello,
I'm using Quicktime Pro version 7.6.6 and I've recently been experiencing this problem when I attempt to export a file from the application.
I'll click 'export' from the file menu, and quickly after the application crashes and displays the following message:
'Quicktime Player 7 quit unexpectedly while using the FLV plugin'
I've removed the 'perian' plugin which I thought it might be refering to, but it still crashes and gives me this meesage each time.
Any ideas how I might resolve this problem?

    Hi la recruiter,
There are a few types of files that Acrobat can't convert--and PDF files with security applied is one on them. I'm happy to cancel your subscription, if you decide that it's not going to work out for you. Please confirm that you'd like me to proceed with the cancelation, and I'll take care of it right away.

hi, attempting to export h.264 for an mp4 file, but premiere cc automatically making m4v with two sep. files. This never happened before. The project had an issue with the GPu and I had to hack the cusa text file. I'm wondering if I messed something up and what should I do to retify. Thanks

Correct except that at the end of encode it stays as two sep files..with
this proj. I narrowed it down vrb1 vs vbr2.. its a two hour project. I just
attempted a second attempt at vbr1..it should work. I will keep everyone

    Hi all,
attempting to export file at 2880x1440, but premier pro changes it to 2048x1024.
I first noticed this issue when trying to change the frame rate of a file using twixtor, but now this is
    a recurring problem.
Using a Mac Pro, with adobe premier pro cc.
    Thanks in advance,

Okay, thanks Jeff, that makes sense.
I have now attempted this however I can't find the option for 5.2, also it is the frame size that I can't alter, I can however export at 60fps @ 2048x1024 and the final file plays fine.
Again I really appriciate you taking the time,
    thanks,

  • Since upgrading to Lion I have Quicktime problems, it will not let me export files to iTunes, it is telling me file maybe damaged this is with wmv and quicktime formats, I also have problems with quicktime freezing and no sound on some files

    Anyone got any ideas?

OK, I did as you suggested, the first step didn't seem to do anything, I selected to download it said immediatly "thankyou for downloading" but didn't ask permission as normal downloads do and it was also instantanious, no download time waited.
So I went onto the second step, downloaded and ran the free trial, showed lots of errors as I'd expect something selling a service to do. I have no idea what the registry does but am wary not to mess with it as if its damaged it makes things very very difficult. I don't know what to do with the results on that one. The messages all seem the same:
The Default Value in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/App paths/Your App exe contains an invalid path...etc and then goes on to specify a file or someters and numbers and semi colons. There are 388 like this. Again, I have no idea what to do with that information or how essential a registry clean is. About 5 years ago I had a Sony Ericsson mobile which would not transfer pictures to my computer. I called Sony up and they did a registry clean for me. It did nothing, I was still unable to transfer pictures and made a mental not to never ever get another Sony Ericsson handset. I can't help feeling a sense od deja-vu with this so am reluctant to do anything to the registry unless someone is there to pick up the peices on the other end as I can't just afford to go out purchase another computer hard drive.
Then I went back, re-downloaded the itunes again, this time it did actually try to download something.
    I got an error message:
Error writing to file: C:/Config.Msi\2b8263.rbf. Verify that you have access to that directory
To which I said I did and to "retry"
It seemed to download fine! I have no idea what was different this time. Nothing I did was any different other then going from your link rather then the pop-up link I normally get. Maybe its just better to use a different link?
    Thanks again!

  • Audition crashes when attempting to export.

Hello there. I'm using Adobe Audition CS6 on a Macbook Pro OSX. I'm trying to export a multitrack project out to a .wav file (or any file really at this point). Everytime that I try to export it I get an error message saying "Audition has encountered a fatal error and needs to shut down". I have also tried bouncing the project out and encountered the same problem. I went through some steps with an Adobe representative and cleaned out my cache files, renamed the libarary folder, as well as tried every single bounce and export setting in the software and yet I keep coming up with the same message. I even tried turning off and turning back on my computer just to be thorough and I have yet to find a solution.
    Can anyone help please?
    Conor

I'm not an Adobe expert... but I play one on PC.
I have had some workaround success (not by definition a true fix as all the factors aren't documented or verified -- but hey I have a working theory and I was able to get "Adobe Audition CS6 5.0 build708" to stop crashing on the mixdown operation as is described in this thread) [Spoiler: For my PC, .NET was the issue]
    Little background info:
I've been a level1 and a midrange engineer primarily in break fix, compatibility testing and a good bit of ITSEC (currently: Technical Coordinator)
OS i fixed the issue on: Windows8 (I suspect this will apply to Win7 and god forbid you are using it, but also Vista), i'm familiar and run Mountain Lion but unfortunately for the purpose of this thread; I only use Protools on that system (sorry Adobe.) -- And further this fix will definitely not apply to Mac (but that doesn't mean it wont leave clues to that issue)
Plain and SImple: I had the same panic attack experinced by others as I had a basically complete multi-track project mixed and all ready to export to lossless format -- and Adobe would crash "unexpectedly" (ironically it did it so much that I fully expected it) at the point in which I would try to execute an export. All other functions seemed fine except any form of export. I assumed because of this it was an issue with the Adobe software and I ended up here to no success.
My Issue turned out to be with "Microsoft .Net"; I examined my .NET features (control panel>> programs and features >> "turn Windows features on/off"). I had these versions tuned on:
    Microsoft .NET 2.0
    Microsoft .NET 3.0
    Microsoft .NET 4.5
(your .NET features may not have these same builds, but it is the same idea; and sometimes you'll see .NET 3.0 maintaining earlier versions within itself -- but that's neither here nor there in respect to this issue).
I turned them all off (unchecked all three and accepted the changes "OK"). After which I went back into the "turn Windows features on/off" menu and turned on Microsoft .NET 4.5 (in the case of your PC I would have only turned on whatever the latest build was -- the higest number). I accepted those changes; rebooted my machine... opened Audition, and boom, bang like magic my exports worked perfectly in every format I attempted.
It should be noted that I was comfortable turning off previous versions of .NET because I know I don't run any sotwares that require an older version, there for I choose to isolate my .NET issues to a single version to deal with. You may be running softwares that require these earlier versions to be active in which case I would still have turned them all off originally, but I would have turned them all back on and tested for success (more realistically I would have ran with only the latest version turned on and exported my mixdown -- then proceeded with any other troubleshooting).
    Stickier .NET scenarios:
-You determine that all installed versions of .NET are damaged, corrupted, or not present (i've seen all of the above)... Damaged or Corrupted (any scenario where it's all present but not functioning even after the above attempts), you would be attempting a .NET repair... if there is simply no versions as late as 3.0 present; you would go to Microsoft.com and download an .NET exe file to install from.
-If repair doesn't work on your damaged or corrupted files; you would then probably find yourself performing a manual uninstall, followed by a fresh installation.
In the case of have to perform a repair or manual uninstall/install Microsoft has some pretty intuitive walkthroughs @ Microsoft.com here is a kb from them that gets into the basics of both operations: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/908077
I hope this helps at least a single person get their project exported, and away from that panic attack.

  • ITunes for Windows freezes when importing a library. I have a large but not huge library of mostly iTunes purchased music on two authorized computers and would like to sync the files, export the library as a playlist, and import it on the other computer.

I am running iTunes for Windows 10.2.2 on Windows 7 Home. I have my iTunes library on both this computer and another authorized machine running Windows 7 Professional. I have a large but not enormous library, as I'm one of those people who doesn't pirate, use torrents, borrow from a dozen friends, or whatever other shades of gray you might imagine. It's mostly iTunes purchases with my old CD collection imported. I have started using the following technique to sync my libraries between my two authorized computers, an ability which you can probably all agree should one day be added to iTunes -- that would be different from Home Sharing, because the music would be stored locally and thus available on the road. With the added benefit of the entire library being backed up on the other machine in real-time. Anyway, when I switch from my desktop to laptop and vice versa, I use the following technique:
Connect both machines to the home network. One machine is the "Active" machine, which has most recently been used for iTunes media, purchases, ratings, etc.
On the "Active" machine, File-->Library-->Export. Save the file as "Library.xml" on the shared drive of the other machine.
Right-click "Library.xml" where it's been saved, and open another file that has two lines in it: The root path of the iTunes library on one machine and the root path of the iTunes library on the other machine.
Do a find/replace all in Notepad to make the library XML file point to where the files will be saved on the "Inactive" machine.
Run Microsoft SyncToy to synchronize the files between both music libraries; the most recent files win. This avoids copying the entire multi-gigabyte library over the network.
Open iTunes on the "Inactive" machine.
Go to Music, Select All, Delete. Keep files.
Do the same for Movies, Music Videos.
Go down to Playlists, select the top one, hold down the delete button until they're all gone.
File-->Library-->Import Playlist. Choose the "Library.xml" file you saved.
First a status bar comes up that says, "Importing library." It has the continually-scrolling progress bar, not the one that starts on the left and steadily creeps right. Then after about 30 seconds, that clears out. Wait. Typically a few minutes. Eventually a status bar will pop up saying something like, "Evaluating gapless playback information," or something like that.
The "Inactive" computer is now the "Active" computer. I can now play my library, it has all my playlists and metadata from the other machine.
Delete all the duplicate playlists named "Music," "Genius," "Purchased," and "iTunes DJ."
Well, I just upgraded to iTunes 10.2.2 a few days ago and tried to do this again like I've done it dozens of times before. Now, iTunes just goes unresponsive after the library import. It got through the "Importing library" bar to the long wait and stopped. I can still multiprocess and use other programs, but iTunes is hovering back there not responding to clicks. Task Manager doesn't seem to think iTunes is using my CPU, and I don't see my hard drive rattling. Any thoughts on why iTunes might hang up when importing a large library?
... Also, please help lobby Apple to come up with a network sync tool built into iTunes for a user with multiple authorized computers. Something different than Home Sharing so I can pull my laptop off the network and still have the synced library with me. And all my metadata changes will sync. The technique I use seems a little kludgey, don't you think?

iTunes isn't an editor. You need an app that's intended for editing audio files, like Adobe Audition (http://www.adobe.com/products/audition.html) or Audacity (free in the App Store).

  • How can I export via QuickTime in iMovie '13 (10.0)?

Prior versions of iMovie had an export via QuickTime option, which allowed me to select the file format, encoding settings, etc. After upgrading to the new iMovie, that appears to have gone away. The Share -> File option does not allow me that level of control over the output file. Has that functionality been removed from iMovie?

I'm also having trouble with this. The new version of iMovie lost a lot of its features and is clearly focused toward the social media side of things. After importing using SD cameras that import video in a *square* PiP format, I am finding it impossible to update any of my settings to export the video in any other format that wouldn't cut out the picture. Basically, the only settings I've found in the share option of the iMovie 10.0 cu off the tops and bottoms of all my recording. Previously, I used QuickTime settings to pick what format and quality I wanted to export in. Does anyone have any insight about how to export using, say, a 640 x 480 format or in being able to adjust to any format other than the standard ones giving.
Is there any other video software I can be using to import and export with that gives me more functionality?

  • Convert WMV files to MPEG  and/or  get Quicktime plug-in for WMV and AVI

    Hi Apple experts,
I need to convert some WMV files to MPEG format or something that will play natively on a Mac in QuickTime or iTunes.
I was advised that the VLC app that will convert WMV to MPEG4?... but the page at the URL below indicates that this version of VLC is a player and does not say anything about converting WMV to MPEG...
    http://vlc-download.com/download-vlc/?gclid=COrY_NKghKYCFQN7gwoduQy4qA
I would like to convert WMV files to MPEG so they will play in QuickTime or in iTunes on a Mac by just double-clicking them... for family members with Macs like me.
I am working on a PC where I am right now, but I have Macs at home and at work. I am on a PC for the time being at a friends place and I've produced a few .wmv files in Windows Live Movie Maker 2011. (Sorry Steve, it's just for a test).
QuickTime will not play WMV files, nor AVI files, but it indicates that it can use a plug-in to do so, but the QuickTime webpage for plug-ins that it takes me to doesn't have any plug-ins for WMV or AVI format files.
Of course the Windows Media Player plays the WMV and AVI files, but is there also a way to make them play in QuickTime or iTunes besides converting them?
    Thanks so much,

    Hi QTKirk,
I would like to be able to just give my family these files on a CD for high-res viewing on a computer, in addition to the DVDs that I have made for their TVs.
Since I don't control what they install on their computers, they don't necessarily have Flip4Mac on their Macs like I do... I just want them to be able to play MPEGs from a file on a CD or on their hard drives by simply double-clicking them.
After working with the recommended VLC player that also allegedly converts WMV files to MPEGs, for 8 hours, I have a result with the 7th attempt that mimics the worst kind of modern digital art that I've ever seen... I wish I could plug in the screenshot of the MPEG video that VLC produced... completely useless garbage.
Are there any other suggestions for a converter that simply handles converting WMV to any kind of MPEG file?
FFE was going to be the one that I tried until I read a post about VLC... that turned out to be a waste of 8 hours of sleepless time.
