I'm beginning to believe you cannot delete unwanted app updates.  Is that a correct assumption?

Am I correct in assuming you cannot delete unwanted app updates?

They should have a "More" link on each. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on it and select Ignore update from the context menu. This is all you can do.
If you erase the software from all disks, then you should not be bothered about them at all.

Ipad mini cannot delete unwanted app from the puchase list . too many app there

You can't permanently delete any items from your purchase history, but you should be able to hide them via your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919 - if your iPad is on iOS 7, then after hiding them on your computer you may need to log out of your account on your iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in for them to be hidden in the Purchased tab in the App Store app on it (the last time I hid an app I needed to do that).

  • How delete unwanted app update notices on iphone

How can I delete unwanted app update notices on iphone in "App Store"?

As far as I know, that's only possible if you don't have the app installed anymore on the phone. Let's see if Apple changed that in iOS5. If no, you can suggest this here: Apple - iPhone - Feedback

  • I cannot delete unwanted app from my iPhone 5.  They wiggle and show the X but when I press the X it grays our but will not delete or go back to the home page when I press the home button

The icons wiggle and show the x but they will not delete when I press the X.  Also the home button will not cancel the action.

Try doing a hard reset: Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
After this, try again to delete the app.
If that doesn't solve the issue, you could also try backing up the device and restoring the device as new.
In that case, follow the steps in: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.
If you're not able to restore the device, this one might help: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Using his article will erase everything on the device, so make sure you have a backup!
    Good luck

  • Re: Cannot delete Games App cannot remove linkedin from hub

Hi i clicked on the games app on the Z10 and it forced me to grant it permission to share on bbm. I dont want it showing up on my bbm. However the option on settings and permissions is greyed out and set to on. How can this be- must be a bug? also you cannot delete the app..... so lookks like im stuck with the problem? any help please..............
    ps have tried these options
    1. Delete the app by pressing and holding the icon and click on delete.
    2. Best way to get rid of the app is go into my world and uninstall the app.
    3. Can change the application permissions under settings, Security and Privacy, Application Permissions.
    none work!.
Next is the app linkedin succesfully deleted it but now cannot remove it of the hub list it still remains there even if i turn it to off in the hub settings? also all app ppermissions are set to off.

Arsen, I don't think you understand that in the Z10 these 3 delete options are not available for the Games App. And in the application permissions it is greyed out and you CAN'T change it. None of the sliders, whether grey or not, are moveable. they are permanently stuck on the "ON" position.
    WTF Blackberry?!

  • Deny/Stop/Delete an App Update

There is an update to a particular App that I do not want to install (the reason isn't that important, but it's because the new version will be loaded with ads).
Is there a way to deny or delete and app update, so that it doesn't come up on the "Updates Available" screen on your iPhone/iPod touch, or iTunes?
    thanks!

Unfortunately, unlike on a Mac computer, it's impossible to remove a software update from the list, it will just keep nagging you to install any updates that are available.
I suggest leaving a note to Apple here:

Why is it on the photo app is that when you add your photos to new albums and when you are deleting from camera roll it will delete photos from everywhere so therefore once your photos are in the albums you have chosen you cannot delete from camera roll

Your photos are actually all in the Camera Roll.  The album you create only contain pointers to these pictures.  Albums are like music playlists; when you delete a song from the playlist it doesn't delete the song from your music library.  But when you delete a song from your music library it will also be deleted from any playlists that it may have been in as well.

Attempts exist for this class. You cannot delete the class until you have deleted the attempts.
Does anyone know how to delete the attemps against a Learning Object. I can delete the enrollments but when I go to delete the class or the learning object i get this message.
This is for a Test environment.
    Thanks.
    John

    Hi John,
You are right about the wording.
There is no simple way of deleting classes. This is because the classes are normally used for the Learner's history and if there is an attempt there is also normally at least one Learner with a history of that Class.
I know you can delete the Learners from a Class but these scenarios happens so seldom, that we have not yet had the need to have a "delete class feature".
But if you have the business case for this, you are welcome to raise a SR for an enhancement for this.

  • Make it so you cannot delete history

Hi, i want to make it so you cannot delete this history on my computer to monitor which sites my kids are using? How can I disable this so they cannot delete the history, and i only i can do it with a password or something?

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
If they have access to your Safari/Preferences window then they can change the way in which your control the History using the pop up menu.
You might want to consider using Parental Controls.
    Open System Preferences/Parental Controls
You may need to click the gold padlock icon to make changes. You will be prompted for your admin password.
Help here to set that up. http://theappleblog.com/2009/01/13/kid-proofing-a-mac-with-parental-controls/
And a video tutorial here. How to Setup and User Parental Controls in Leopard
You can use the Property List Editor to see which sites have been visited without the History trail.
Go to ~/Library/Safari and double click the History.plist file.
~ (Tilde) represents your Home Folder
The Property List Editor will open.
Click the black disclosure triangle next to: WebHistoryDates so it faces down.
You can view website addresses in the History there.

  • Hello. I have a problem. I cannot delete any apps from my ipad. It won't even wiggle when i tap and hold on the icon. There's also no restrictions and passcodes in my settings. My photos on camera roll even get lost once i shut down my ipad. Please help.

Hello. I have a problem. I cannot delete any apps from my ipad. It won't even wiggle when i tap and hold on the icon. There's also no restrictions and passcodes in my settings. My photos on camera roll even get lost once i shut down my ipad. Please help.

The preinstalled apps, those that came as part of the iOS, cannot be deleted and will not shake or provide the black circle-X for deletion.
Others should do that if you touch and hold for a few seconds.
If they are not, do a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if that appears.

  • I cannot delete some apps from my Iphone.

I cannot delete certain apps from my Iphone. (Not System Apps) They are blacked out, if I press and hold the app the option is there to delete it however it does not delete. After pressing the X it says "deleting xxxx will also delete all of its data"  I click delete, but nothing happens. I verified that i do not have any restrictions. Any suggestions?

    Hi andyhany,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like the apps may not have downloaded to your iPhone completely. I recommend trying the solution from this discussion thread first:
App updates won't download on my iPhone, they just say waiting.
         https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4111336
Try tapping the App, so that it changes to Paused instead of Waiting, then tap it again to resume the install.
Make sure you don't have any paused downloads in other apps either, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
If that doesn't do it, try resetting or restoring the iPhone.
    Regards,
    Jeremy

How do you delete unwanted apps on your ipod?

tap and hold your finger on your unwanted app
soon all the apps will begin to wiggle and will have "X"s in the top corner
to rearrange your apps just drag them around
but to delete one, simply click the tiny "X"
then press the home button to make them all stop wiggiling

  • I want to know if you can delete the apps that show up .. All the ones you look at or buy ? How do you get them off I pad ?

I m wondering if you can delete the apps that show up that you have looked at or have purchased ? I have some that I'm trying to delete but don't know how to do it ...please help or let me know if it can be done ... Thanks

To delete any apps but the ones that are hard wired into your ipad, hold your finger down on the app icons until they start to wiggle. When they do, you'll see red circles with white X's in them. Tap on that and follow the prompt to delete the app.
If you can't delete apps, look in settings, general, restrictions and make sure that deleting apps hasn't been locked out.
