I'm being overcharged for my student subscription to Creative Cloud

I'm currently being charged £21 per month for my subscription when the current student rate is £15.49 per month. Can I get the months I have been overcharged refunded and have my subscription price reduced - I am not happy paying an extra £5 a month, particularly as a student!

  • When trying to open any of the 4 apps in  Adobe Creative Suite Design Standard I own outright, , I am unable to use the software and instead am being prompted to "Renew your Subscription to Creative Cloud".  Please help me

    I have purchased and used Adobe Products for 25+ years and I own CS6 Design Standard outright. 
    I  had previously  subscribed to Adobe Creative Cloud  but did not renew the annual subscription. 
    The CS6 Design Standard serial number is listed in my Adobe user account.    I have run the the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaning tool, uninstalled  the Adobe Creative Cloud App and all other CC apps from my iMac.  I reinstalled  fresh copies of the CS6 software two different times, first from  my CS6 DVD disk and then from the  Adobe Download page.  During each installation of CS6, all seemed to run normally and I was prompted to enter the license number and it was accepted.  However, when trying to open the software after completing the installation, I am being prevented from doing so without renewing the Creative Cloud  subscription. 
    Who knows of a solution to this problem? 
    Contacting Adobe’s Chat support and Customer Support portal has not resulted in a solution, even though they have confirmed the license number as being accurate and linked to my account.  After weeks of waiting on their responses, yesterday I was told to go to the Forums to find a solution….Please Help Me….Thanks

    I really hate to sound desperate, but I've hit hard financial times and I can't pay for the subscription when I don't need it. I know this is probably to be done on an individual basis, buuuuuut it DOES say you guys have people on here 24/7, so I figure I'll give it a shot. I have two months left on my account but I don't think I'll need it, so if one of you wonderful people could help me out of this little issue, that'd be great.

    In august I bought a year student subscription from the cloud , last month when open any program I was asked to accept the Adobe License agreement for every program  I opened ,I thought must be part of the updates ,  sinds then I have  no sync , Illustrator suys I am logged out.
    I can't update and Illustrator says I am logged out when I want to acces the kuller ( color ) from Illustrator . In the cloud I want to ad some changes to my ID , it says I have no access , what is happening , do I have to un install the whole thing and install it again ? THX

  • Student version of Creative Cloud

    I just recently bought an annual Student version of Creative Cloud.  I downloaded Illustrator CC for a class I'm currently taking.  I want to download some other apps to take advantage of my year's membership, but then I noticed something interesting.  On the list of applications in the Creative Cloud desktop app, some applications have an "Install" button while others have a "Try" button.  What's the difference between the two?  Do the applications with the "Try" options that I can't use them unless I pay out even more money than I already have?  Thanks in advance for any answers!  :-)

    I'm going to answer my own question.  The "Try" buttons disappeared after my computer restarted itself as a result of Windows 8.1 being configured to auto-update itself (an option I have subsequently corrected as it ruined a Photoshop download that was running at the time).  So I'm thinking that it was just some sort of weird fluke.  But maybe some of the Adobe community has some other suggestions on this topic.

    So a couple of weeks ago I decided to subscribe to Creative Cloud. Payment was made, and I could download the software that is included in that deal, one of which is Photoshop CC. Now upon starting it for the first time, it asked me if I wanted to continue as a trial version, or if I wanted to buy the license. I already paid for it, so this question seemed strange to me. I checked if I still had to log in with my adobe account, but I already was logged in. I tried logging out & in, maybe that would fix it but no. Also, I can't find any activation key anywhere, not in the e-mail that confirmed my subscription, nowhere.
    I have been working since then, and since photoshop CC trial version will expire within a couple of days, I had to make time to try and fix it now. Sadly I haven't been able to find any solution, and finding any direct support on the adobe help department has been a nightmare. I really hope someone here is able to help me fix this.
    To summarize:
    - I've got a subscription to Creative Cloud (the one with photoshop, that costs 12,29 per month in euro's, I'm from the Netherlands)
    - Photoshop CC installed, keeps asking if I want to keep on using the trial version, or get a license.
    - Upon making the choice to get a license, it just asks for an activation key, which I do not have
    - Logging in & out with my adobe account in Photoshop CC itself does not fix the problem.

    Thanks for your reply. I was able to find help through a tech support chat session and the person helped me edit my /etc/hosts file and it solved the problem.
    For anyone else experiencing this issue (Mac OS X):
    Close all other programs and sign out from the Adobe Desktop App
    From the Finder, Go > Go to Folder...
    Type /etc and hit enter
    Find "hosts" file (only "hosts", there were similar files such as hosts.config but only open the one that says "hosts"
    Open the file, and replace the entire content with ### Host Database## localhost is used to configure the loopback interface#
    Close the file, sign back into the Adobe Desktop App
    Problem solved!

    I have tried following the instructions for canceling my 12 month subscription to creative cloud (I am currently in the last month), but when I click on the link "Cancel this plan", I get the message:
    If you cancel your plan, you will lose access to certain features of your Creative Cloud membership, including certain applications, a higher level of services, and additional cloud storage. At the end of your current paid month, June 13, 2014, your membership will revert to a free membership, and you'll be billed 50% of your remaining contract obligation, as outlined in our billing terms. Memberships canceled within the first 30 days after purchase will be fully refunded by contactingCustomer Support.

    So, what hoops do you expect me to jump through in order to actually cancel my subscription?
