I'm continually seeing "unable to sign in: can't connect to the server at this time" ...

whenever i try to view any of my purchased tv/movies or even try to purchase something new  ... all despite being able to view trailers, youtube etc- so I know my wifi is OK.  And I can purchase from iTunes on other devices so I know my account is OK.  Any ideas?

I recommend power cycling your Apple TV using the on screen menu to see if that would help:
Restarting your Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation) using the onscreen menu
If you have Apple TV software 5.0 or later installed, you can restart your Apple TV using the onscreen menu. To restart your Apple TV choose Settings > General > Restart.

    If you are still having trouble, you can try to reset your equipment by unplugging Apple TV, your television, your wireless networking equipment or AirPort Base Station, and your router from their power outlet. Wait 30 seconds, then plug everything back in.

  • Sharepoint list dataheet view error "Cannot connect to the server at this time. You can continue working with this list, but some data may not be available"

    I have a List which is having around 14000 items in it.while opening that list in datasheet view it is giving error .
    Below is a summary of the issue:
    After selecting datasheet view beow error occurs:
        "Cannot connect to the server at this time.  You can continue working with this list, but some data may not be available."
        "Unable to retrieve all data."
        The item counts displays say 100 out of 14000 items.
    Exporting List to excel is giving only 2000 records out of 14000 records.
    Other Observations   -  
    This is happening to only one list on the site .There are other lists in the site whose no. of records is equal to 8000 to 9000.They are working absolutely fine without any error.
    Also, If I am saving this list as a template and creating another list with it ,then it is working absolutely fine with 14000 records,so the issue does not seem to be related with no. of records as the template list is working fine.
    I have checked the Alternate access mapping setting ,its fine.
    It should not be related to lookup,datefield or any other column as the list created from it template is working fine with all these columns.
    I checked below links also ,but doesn't seem to work in my case.

    I have spent two days to resolve this issue. Microsoft has released two KBs with reference to this issue...but are not appearing in search results at the top.
    I am sharing my finding.
    1. First install the
    KB2552989 (Hopefully you might have already installed it. The KB detetcts it and informs the user.)
    2. Then update registry by adding new key for data fetch timeout as mentioned inKB2553007
    These two steps resolved the issue in our environment. Hope it might help others as well.

    on my iphone 3gs, i had the same error.  i finally found help that worked on the internet.  “Go to Settings > General > Date and Time > Set Automatically > On.  My setting was set to 'OFF' (no idea how).  I changed it and now i can log into game center, the app store and itunes once again.

    Return it and get a refund. Without the prior owner's Apple ID and password that device is useless. Find My iPhone Activation Lock- Removing a device from a previous owner’s account. You were screwed by the ignorance of the pawn shop owner.

  • There was a problem connecting to the server. This error message comes continuously when running final cut pro x

    I used to have a nas connected to my mac, i mounted it with AFP. Added some music to my movies from that location but all downloaded to my local mac. There is nothing on the nas that is required in my movie, still i get the message continously popping up. How can i find out the reason it is constantly popping up?
    With this it is impossible to use final cut for any editing, not cause i need data from the device but cause this popup comes up very annoyingly ever 10 sec or so.
    The movies i have all playes fine in final cut, even though i have this pop up every 10 sec.
    I cannot reconnect the nas as it is dead :-)

    Sounds like there is some Alias files pointing to the NAS in your Events library.
    If you have any idea about what songs it was, hunt them down and replace them with songs from the local drive.

    Last night I was watching programs on Apple TV with only one problem: I was not able to purchase the entire season of "Homeland" but could purchase and watch individual episodes. Please try again later." I am able to watch programs on Hulu, Netflix, etc. without problems.

    I have a similar problem. After a recent update I cannot access the iTunes Store to resubscribe to Hulu. "Cannot access iTunes Store at this time." Dunno what to do.

    I have a 16GB iPod touch that suddenly stopped connecting to the internet last night. Everytime I try to get mail, or access anything with Safari I get a message saying that it can't connect to the server. Also I've plugged it in to my home computer but it won't connect to iTunes either. I haven't updated to iOS8 yet as I didn't have enough space for it and I had planned on deleting all my music files, updating the software and putting whatever music I could fit back on to the device afterward, but now I'm hesitant to do that as I have no way to get any of the files back onto the device. I've been having other problems such as apps crashing unexpectedly lately as well, for example my music shuts off randomly and apps such as Twitter and Tumblr and a few others crash on launch.     Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
    Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
    Did the iOS device connect before?
    Try the following to rule out a software problem:                
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
    .- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network      
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    I don't use Apple's Mail client (I use MS Outlook) but setting up your Gmail account should be fairly straightforward. Just make certain that you have your settings correct.
    For your incoming server, be sure to use the "map.gmail.com" server, using SSL, using port "993" (usually the default).
    For your outgoing server, be sure to use the "smtp.gmail.com" server, override the default port and use port "465" and use SSL to connect and make sure that you enter your email address and password to access the SMTP server.
    If you've already set up your account with these settings, you may need to Google "gmail setup apple mail" and find the Google document relating to same.

    I was running into the same issue for the past few days and decided... Heck, just try the old fashioned way and unplug the thing.  Boom.  Fixed it.  Try unplugging it and doing the old reset and see how that goes.

Now when I tried to upgarde to ios6.1 I was able to download the ios software on my iphone successfully, but when it started installing the ios on my iphone it restarted my iphone and now it says " We are unable to countinue, we cannot activate the iphone at this time. The activtation server is currently down please try after sometime or you can also activate it by connecting to iTunes." .
    Please anyone can help in either resolving this issue or restoring it back to my original ios5.1.

    This generally is a sign that the iPhone had previously been jailbroken
    or hacked to unlock it from the original wireless provider and the update
    has relocked it to that carrier. You must contact the wireless provider it
    is locked to and ask if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
    Exactly how did you get Apple to unlock your 3gs? Only wireless carriers
    unlock iPhones; Apple does not do so.
