I'm currently on my fourth iPhone 5 charger cable in the past 3 months. Why are they so poorly produced?
I'm an avid promoter of apple products and always have been but the lighting cables are so poorly made. The wires often perish and I'm sick of having to replace them at my own, high, expense. They are all genuine cables and I'm at a loss as to why such an expensive phone should have such a poorly made data cable. Can someone please give me an insight into why this is continually happening and if Apple have helped anyone else out in this situation.

I've had two cables perish at the phone plug end. I was surprised too, but I bought some heat shrink large enough to cover the plug and a couple inches of cable and back in business. No probs with connection just the outer insulation perishing. Seems like low quality material. Apple what you doing?

I have bought the Apple brand cords and all other kinds of cords, you name the brand I have used it. They're all kept in good conditions and rarely moved. Why do they keep on breaking, whats another solution I can try?!

Did you unplug device by pulling the chord instead of the plug?
My 30 pin dock cable from old iPhone 3G is still working fine on iPod touch 4th generation, iPad 3rd generation and iPhone 4S. -
If you registrate one Apple ID for each iPhone/iPad, you'll get 5GB on iCloud for each Apple ID, right? I have two iPhones and one iPad with the same Apple ID, why can't I get 5 GB fo each of them?
Actually, everyone missed one point, when a device is priced, the cost of icloud storage space for that device is also included in it that is why they are able to give you 5gb each for each user ID, in nutshell there is nothing free coming with apple device purchase, it is paid for. What they are trying by giving only 5gb per user ID irrespective of the number of devices used is pure broadlight looting, they take money from you when you buy each device and give you nothing, This is a case of goods and services bought but not fully deliverd ie apple can be suied for discreminatory treatment towards it's users. I wonder why no one tried this yet in America where everyone sue everyone for petty things..... there is no one to take up this issue? . if tim got any love for the guys who shell out money for the devices his company makes, he should be implimenting this as priority before someone wake up from sleep and sue him.

i've an iphone 3.1.3. sometimes, i have problems opening all the apps i downloaded in the past 4 months. other apps would open but the recent ones will begin to boot and then close itself. once, it persisted for over a week. it staarted again this evening, pls help as am frustrated. NB- i checked for apps update but all my apps are up-to-date. CT
Try the usual steps: restart, reset, restore.

If restoring using a backup doesn't help, try restoring the iPhone to factory settings and try for a while with just the Apple-included apps, to make sure it's not an issue with a third-party app. If it still has problems, it may have a hardware problem and will need to be sent to Apple.

I bought my iPhone 4 in Canada and have been using it here for the past 7 months. In september I will be moving to the UK and am wondering if I get a UK sim card will I be able to use it as my cell phone over there?

IPhone 3GS no longer works as it did the past 2 months!!
Despite the reputation of the AT&T network, I decided to make the switch (and get an iPhone) back in January. For the past 2 months, everything worked flawlessly! AS GOOD AS (dare I say) Verizon! No dropped calls. Good network (3G) coverage...no problems. NOW: I can no longer use my phone at my house! I HAVE to connect to my wi-fi. Calls can't be made. The service ***** now! I chat w/tech support, and they tell me that it's because of the lack of 'towers'. So I asked them if they just recently tore some down, and explained my GREAT service for the past 2 months! NO HELP from them...Anyone here have any ideas? Thanks!!

You can lock your SIM card, so it can’t be used without a Personal Identification Number (PIN). You must enter the PIN each time you turn iPhone off and turn it back on again. Some carriers require a SIM PIN in order to use iPhone.

Got my daughter an ipod touch 4th and it wont dothe back up from itunes? I bought my other daughter an iphone 4 and its doing the same thing. Both are locking up itunes too. I tried the deactivate/activate that was suggested it still didnt work. I took the ipod to a friend and hooked to her laptop and it synced fine but now trying to sync on mine it wont do it and it has the backup encryption on but no passwords will unlock it. itunes will reccognize the ipod and the iphone but while going thru the sync steps they both get to step 2 then lock up itunes and then says its syncing but will never stop. I am very frustrated and am regretting buying products from Apple.
It seems to be a glitch or bug. Its been officially acknowledged and addressed by Apple. There is no resolution other than waiting for a few days. The Kb article by Apple states it will fix itself on January 7.

Symptoms
After January 1st, 2013, Do Not Disturb mode stays on past its scheduled end time.
Resolution
Do Not Disturb scheduling feature will resume normal functionality after January 7, 2013. Before this date, you should manually turn the Do Not Disturb feature on or off.
To turn off the scheduling feature, tap Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb and switch Scheduled to Off. -
when i plug in my iphone to the system, itunes does not recognize my iphone. i have tried all the troubleshooting part n there are no results yet. what should i do?
I have reset my iphone and made sure all updates have been done on my macbook pro and iphone. It was after updating my macpro that I plugged in my phone and went to itunes to backup phone and can't see the device anywhere! I have also done all the troubleshooting that apple.com recommended too...all except re-installing itunes!

To update it all you need to do is connect the phone to iTunes and you can then update it.
If you are using anything less than iOS 5, then you can't update directly on your phone as this is not available and iOS 5 is the first OS where this option was available. -

Using an iPhone wall charger for the iPod is fine. You can also use an iPhone cable for the iPod.
The term " iphone's charge battery" is not really clear. -
iPad 1 is a lot newer than iPhone 3GS. It has the A4 chip! Why no IOS 6 for the 1st gen. iPad?
quite surprised it suggests that iPhone 3gs s more powerful than the iPad1? iphone 3gs is supported. something is fishy. i don't want to fall out of love with apple products. looks like it's a business decision to cut support for iPad 1 - not technical shortcoming. if apple cut support for 3gs they will upset customers who just bought 3gs before iphone 5 was launched.... tsk tsk tsk.. i'm not from US. hope to see a class action suit by US peeps to resolve this...

My iCloud Calendar and devices ( iPad 2 and iPhones 4S ) have been syncing fine for the past several months. Now however only the past two months are showing up on my devices while the iCloud Calendar continues to show all of the events. Why is all the information still not syncing?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, scroll down to the Calendars section and change the sync option to something other than 'Events 2 month back'. -
I plugged my iPhone 4 into my computer with the USB charger cable, and the screen went blank and came up with a picture of the usb cable with an arrow pointing to iTunes....Can anyone help get this fixed????

I have the same exact problem.
I put an iPod shuffle on the Bose system, it plays just fine.
My iPhone 4s works just fine connected to my car stereo.
My iPhone 4s on the Bose will charge, it "thinks" it's playing, song shows, time line shows it's playing, can pause if I touch the phone's screen.
The remote for the Bose WILL NOT pause it, forward to next song, etc. It does work with the iPod shuffle.
So it's not the Bose, it's not connections, it's the iOS 7.1.1
Everything worked fine before, any one else have suggestions? -
I just started using my iphone 5s. I have a problem with new incoming emails from my POP account. Why are they marked as read automatically even though I have not even opened them yet.
At first I thought it might be because I was using simultaneously my old iPhone 4S so it somehow realized the emails where being pushed to another device and the it marked as read, this has nothing to do since I have deleted the email account from the iPhone 4SContact the email provider for assistance with their service.
