I'm feeling dizzy because I am so mad...

Ok, this morning I was on the phone with Apple for over two hours. The first hour was some foreigner who was reading from a script not having a clue what he was talking about. The second was with an american who knew what he was doing and could help me.
The problem with my original iPhone was that it was stuck on the apple logo. He talked me through everything trying to get that phone to work. After everything we tried, no luck. He told me my phone was out of warranty so I would have to pay the flat rate of 199. He suggested that I just go ahead and get the 3g iPhone. I thanked him and went along my way to the nearest ATT store (apple store 3hrs away).
I get home with my new phone and set it up as a new phone. It was working perfectly fine. However, a hour ago, my new phone started to stutter and lock up. I reset the phone and wouldn't you know.... that **** Apple logo was there and wouldn't go away.
Again! Come on! I went ahead and tried everything that I discussed with the tech guy with no avail. I am so mad right now that I want to throw that f'in phone into the wall and burn the house down. I can't afford to keep spending 2-300 dollars a go on a new phone. My original was working just fine up until the 2.02 update.
I more or less wanted to vent. Comments are welcome or suggestions. Thanks.
Also, I've tried plugging both phones on both my mac and pc itunes. Both computers had itunes freeze up.

I have the same problem that you have. A week ago, I installed the new 2.0.2, synched my iphone. My applications wouldn t work so i tried to synch again (pluged the iphone to my mac, start itune and press the 2 buttons of my iphone for 30-40 sec). It worked but 30 minutes later the apple logo appeared and wouldn t go away.
Then I found out how to reset and reinstall my iphone but same thing, the apps wouldn t work so i tried to synch again and same thing happened, my iphone got stuck with the apple logo. I thought I was doing something wrong and i was going on vacation so i left my phone at home thinking that i will take care of it when i come back.
I came back yesterday, reset my iphone with no problem except for the apps that still wouldn t work. So i synched again but when it asked if it should synch the apps from my iphone to itune, i said no and it worked. Tonight, I downloaded a new app on itune and i tried to synch my iphone thinking that my problem were done, and guess what? The apple logo....
So I am again reseting my iphone and reinstalling it. But I won t synch apps until apple gives a new version of software and promise that it fixes that problem.
Do you think you can return your new iphone2? I am sure your first iphone is fine.

Hi there, I am now on my third Mac. This is the first one with a LED display (Macbook Pro with matte display) I noticed that I feel dizzy after working with my Mac (every time now for a month). I did not think much about it until I read in a national paper that all LED lights were exchanged in a government building. All people working there were feeling dizzy and complained about headaches.

As eww points out, Apple have only ever used LCD displays in their notebook computers. The recent difference is that Apple have changed to backlighting the LCD screen using LEDs. Formerly, florescent lamps were used, sometimes referred to as CCFLs (cold cathode florescent lamp).
Both CCFLs and LEDs, as used in LCD backlighting, are strobed as a means of dimming control. But with the differences in operating characteristics, the strobing is more pronounced with LEDs when compared with CCFLs, and that seems to have pushed a small percentage of the user population over the tipping point with respect to experiencing some form of discomfort using the notebook screen.
bluebirdnl, one thing you might try is running the screen at full brightness using the built-in brightness controls and then controlling dimming using a program like Shades as was referenced by another poster in this thread. That would eliminate the strobing effect, and you could see if that is the source of your sensitivity or not.

To put your iPhone back in jail do a restore.
This will put iPhone back into factory condition and you can get your updates (assuming you want the updates).

people, few tutorials bother going into the details i need). I have
zero flash advice to offer anyone else due to my severe
flashtardation, but if someone can tell me how to make a page open
up in a separate browser window (see my previous q about linking,
in which David Stiller helped a lot), I could try to help you with
a NON flash query that relates to either 1) anything Legend of
Zelda or 2) relationships (my friends call me the Sage), or 3) cats

HELP! possibly lost file twice because of same error... (CS4)

hello.
i have created a poster with embedded smart objects and multiple layers that is fairly complex in photoshop CS4. I have made this poster twice and each time has taken a day to create the thing. i embedded a smart object that is a floor in the image and using a texture that the client provided. i had to do it this way because they have not made up their mind about which floor texture they want to use for the poster, and by doing so it would be easier to change the texture if they do change their mind with a smart object. so, i created a fairly large embedded smart object 'floor' that i had to apply a 'perspective' transform to that layer. when i did this, the smart object handles go about 4-5 times wider than the actual dimensions of the poster width, which is normal when you apply a perspective transform to an object. everything worked and looked fine...and i saved everything locally in one folder, including the imported psd 'floor' smart object.
i have had this major error two times. i did the exact same process both times i have created this thing and i have gotten the identical error message each time i tried to re-open up this file for changes from the client. the error is:
"Could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version of photoshop"
i really need to open this file without having to recreate it AGAIN. PLEASE HELP!!!!
note: when i had the second version of the poster open after i created it again, i did a save as and made a copy because i had to make an A4 size print ad for the same thing, when doing this i converted the 'floor' smart object to a raster layer. this file does open and i have no problems with it. but i can not use it for the poster because the dimensions are considerably smaller than the poster and resolution is lost.
after doing some searching online i have not found any solutions for this and i'm desperate to find anything to get this file open so i don't have to recreate this a third time. but, if i do not find help i thought i would mention what i believe to be the culprit of the problem...the gigantic embedded smart object with perspective transform that is much wider than the actual dimensions of the document.
any help or advice is GREATLY APPRECIATED!

update...
ok. after the third recreation of the file and losing the file again, i downloaded the gimp open up the psd. this was a suggestion in another forum i read online. i was able to get the psd open in the gimp. i then saved a copy with another name and it warned me that i could not save the file because the width of the document was larger than 30,000 pixels. this was because the smart object perspective 'floor' layer was so wide as i mentioned previously. i then cropped that layer to the visible pixels on the canvas and saved it as a psd. then i was able to open the file in photoshop...but i did lose all of my layer styles and all of my masks were moved and had to be redone...but, at least i was not completely starting over so it is better than nothing.
in conclusion...i suspect the problem is what the gimp said when i tried to save a copy. don't have your document layers and/or document larger than 30,000 pixels and you should be ok...in case anyone else has run into this problem.

Roboform lied to me when I purchased it, promising that I would receive all updates AND upgrades "for life." Then they apparently colluded with FF to turn that into a lie, because they didn't grandfather-in the customers to whom they made this promise for free upgrades. I will never buy any version of Roboform again.
I still use FIREFOX 3.6.22 because that is the last version that my version of Roboform works with. I use XP SP2. Because I don't want Microsoft's spyware and controlware on my PC, I won't be using SP3 or any version beyond XP. I will be moving completely to Linux when what I have no longer serves my needs.
I can't upgrade Firefox to any version more recent than 3.6.22 because FF has not made it clear which is the highest version that works properly with XP SP2. I can't run any version that requires XP SP3 to run properly.

What a dumb customer service!!!! and where the heck is my payment?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so furious right now to the point my whole body is shaking and I feel dizzy!
I've been mailing out the check for $55 every month on 1st or 2nd of each month for past 2, 3 years now.
I don't get statements in mail, so I typed one page with the accountholder's name, address, account number and payment address. This check for $55 is issued by my work, so what I do every month is that as soon as I receive the check, I print out this little page with all the information, I staple the check to the page and mail out to the payment address listed under Contact Us on Verizon wireless website.
My due date is 21st of each month. As I mentioned above, I mail out the check either on 1st or 2nd of each month, which means the check should be arrived, processed, cleared from the bank, and credited to my account before my due date.
I don't have the entire record, but I can see the payment history for past 12 month from my verizon wireless online and this check for $55, although I've been mailng out on a very regular basis, it has been posted to my account very irregularly.
Sometimes, it gets credited to my account before the 10th. Sometimes, it gets credited sometime before my due date. Sometimes, it gets credited way after my due date. Sometimes, it gets cleared from the bank, but doesn't even get credited to my account. Every month, I have to closely monitor whether this month's check has been cleared and credited for this account.
If this happens to many accountholders, I would not be this frustrated.
I have a coworker who gets the same check from the work and mail out on the same day to VERIZON WIRELESS. Okay? Mark this. Same amount of check issued by the same bank goes to the same payment address by mail (same postal service). Difference? Her due date is 11th and mine is 21st. Another difference? Her payment gets credited in few days and well before her due date. Mine takes forever and ever and sometimes lands on a wrong account.
I called the customer service today to see where my check is and why it has not been cleared yet. The customer service, Jose, was so rude and raising his voice saying that it might have been the post office at fault. And then, he was asking if I wrote a wrong address or anything. Hello~ I TYPED the freaking payment address and my account number and saved in my computer. You've been getting my check with no problem for the past 2, 3 years now, so I'M SO SURE THAT IT'S NOT THE POST OFFICE WHO'S AT FAULT!!!! On top of it, I'm not calling to figure out whom to blame.
Then, I talked to the supervisor, Eric. Hey, if you are the supervisor, you should be able to give me more than the same lame lines that JOSE was giving me. Don't say that I've been mailing my check to the lockbox and you don't have the contact number. I've been sending my check to the freaking lousy lockbox and so have my coworker. She doesn't have the same problem that I have. Even if the lockbox doesn't have the contact number and a live person in, there is the department in which they process the payment, right? You should contact them to figure something out! You should provide a CUSTOMER SERVICE. What part of CUSTOMER SERVICE don't you get as a SUPERVISOR? I am YOUR CUSTOMER! and I, the CUSTOMER, hereby request a SERVICE that I am entitled to!

I've been using the Verizon Wireless for almost 5 years and I'm seriously disappointed at the level of customer service you provided and the way you are handling this matter and not providing a good reason why you are messing up with my payment.

I can understand that the situation is infuriating, but the anger is misplaced. To start, it is very bad practice to not have a direct way to view whether the check you are sending had been cashed. While it gives the appearance of being convenient, you are setting yourself up for a nightmare when you do not, first, deposit the funds and issue your own method of payment. Secondly, the fact that it was not applied to the account does not necessarily mean that Verizon Wireless is at fault. You cannot determine this absolutely until you confirm that the check had been cashed by VZW, which, again, is going to be difficult to impossible because you are sending a check from a third party. The likelihood that it was lost in the mail should not seem shockingly preposterous. Matter of fact, people use this excuse because it is a very plausible scenario. It is essential to know whether the check was cashed by VZW, if it was, then they can go through the steps to find it; if, however, it was not, then it is something you will want to get reissued.
My advice is to follow the approach listed above, but, more so, eliminate the overly emotional reactions so that the matter can be addressed in a logical way.

Since we tried some benchmark, of course we have to try at least a famous game to the real world experience. Battlefield 4, the biggest FPS game title since end of 2013, is one of the heaviest loading games on PC platform.
First we made Battlefield 4 detail at 1920x1080 with Ultra Graphics Quality setup.
The gaming frames is 46 FPS, really smooth and around 20% faster than GTX780M.
Once we tune up the resolution to 2880x1620, the FPS drops a lot because the Ultra mode also set 4xMSAA (Anti-Aliasing), that will impact the performance a lot in higher resolution, also make graphics memory demand around 3GB~4GB, seems the 8GB GDDR5 with GTX880M is prepared for upcoming games with such as 3K or even higher resolutions!
We could see it’s about 24~28 FPS under 3K resolution with Ultra Graphics Quality, most time it will reduce over 40% FPS rate of the gaming performance.
Seems to set the Battlefield 4 with “High” graphics quality on 2880x1620 resolution is more suitable to play the game smoother in every theme.
It’s about 42 FPS, close to the 1920x1080 Ultra graphics quality. So if we want to play heavy loading games at 2880x1620 resolution, set to High graphics quality setup is a good option for 3K gaming!
After these 3D and gaming tests, let’s take a look on the temperature of the cooling system. The room temperature is 25 degree C, the temperature of fan out part is 71.2 degree C, it’s not a surprise because of GTX880M and Core i7 4800MQ, even it’s a bit lower than most gaming notebooks with this 2 combinations. The palm rest and keyboard side is 30.6 degree C, it’s really cool for users to hands on.
After the fabulous experience of great 3D performance, let’s take a look on the benefits of “Super RAID 2”, normal 2.5” HDD is about 80~100MB/s, single SSD is about 400~550MB/s, BUT, GT60 Dominator Pro boost over 1536MB/s and average is 1477MB/s, that’s 15x faster than single HDD, almost 3x faster than single SSD.

Ok either you work for MSI or you changed the settings in 3dmark11. I only scored around 5K with my GT60 2PE 3k. Any idea why I'm scoring 3k below you? Laptop was plugged in btw. Also how can you enter bios settings with this laptop? I suspect that maybe the hybrid gpu thing is affecting my score, and the Pc is probably not fully utilizing the GTX 880M, maybe in bios I can disable the integrated CPU's video card??? Will warranty cover 1 dead pixel and an incredibly annoying screen flicker?

Problems:
1) I have 1 dead pixel on my iPod Touch and it's very annoying as it sticks out because the entire screen is black, and there is just this dot of light
2) I sometimes use my iPod Touch in the dark, so this means that I keep the contrast at the lowest level, as it being too bright hurts my eyes. The problem with this is that the screen flickers between contrasts slightly and it ends up making me feel dizzy.
I've tried turning the auto brightness option to off to prevent the above, but it doesn't make any difference. I've also tried turning the contrast slightly up too, but still it flickers slightly.
Any advice?

The warranty will cover a dead pixel and the flickering screen. But before we get drastic, let's do some troubleshooting. Try a hard reset by holding the home and sleep/wake button at the same time until the Apple logo appears on screen. Skip the slide to power off screen.

I have a graph, drawn on paper, of acceleration. I have to find the way the object did. Which means I have to do integration twice.
What I need is a program that I can feed with the coordinates and it will find the fitting function and do integration on it.
Do you know such a tool? thank you!

Are you sure Qtiplot can get coordinates and connect them with dots and calculate integration on it? I prefer not to install it just for testing because I have no qt programs on this system and I'll have to install about 250 MB for it.

I didn't know the name of it since I learned math in Hebrew but seems like numeric integration fits to the case.
I'm not that familiar with the trapezoid rule, I'll look into it though. I hope wikipedia will be helpful enough. (the trapezoid rule is not "riemann sum", right?)

Now to all of you, I'll explain the problem.
I have a paper with a graph on it. It's the output of an accelerometer. It's form is a random wave. Up and down, positive and negative values. It's quite a hard work just listing all of the coordinates, and when I think about dividing it to many many linear functions I start to feel dizzy
I need a program to eat all of the coordinates, connect the dots with lines and let me do operations on the resulting "function" or functions, in this case i need integrations.
Does anybody know of such program, or if the program is listed here, I'm not familiar with most of them so I'll really appreciate a hint for how to do it with the specific program you offer.
