I m geeting a firebug popup everytime I start firefox in my personal computer but not in official computer.

Dear Sir / Madam,
This is to inform you that whenever I start my firefox a popup is there with following details
Title Bar -: [JavaScript Application]
Messege -: The following extension(s) are required by page speed and must be installed before it can run:
- Firebug (http://getfirebug.com/)

I Had the same problem with a FireStudio. Try unplugging the FireWire plug and the power plug. Wait for a few seconds, then plug both back in. The light on my FireStudio was flashing blue/red which means "not connecting." I did what I just described, and everything works again. Hope it works for you.

If a shortcut is used while Firefox is already open the error does not occur.

As reported in earlier replies, the annoyance disappeared after I upgraded to Roboform 7.5.6, from 7.5.4.

Is your homepage getting changed to the same URL every time you open Firefox?
What's happening sure sounds like you picked up some Malware, , that you may not be aware of, along with a homepage changer of some type.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

  • I updated to the newest version of Firefox 0n th 19th of July and since then everytime I start Firefox all I get is a window that reads

i updated to the newest version of Firefox 0n th 19th of July and since then everytime I start Firefox all I get is a window that reads

Weeks of TRASH = FIREFOX 3.66
All three of my computers have been totally worthless since I upgraded to FF3.66. Each are built/configured differently. Each has a different OS. Each has all the above problems. Crashes constantly, RAM & CPU usage on a Q9650 is always near 100%. After screwing around for days I finally came here and found out that I was among a very large and upset group of users. With the last few upgrade I've had minor problems with my selection of add-ons Firefox disabled them for a later fix. I found a new DL today, 3.67 so I installed it figuring the problem was addressed. After installation of 3.67 it still says it's 3.66??
I went to their site to find help from them and couldn't get anyplace until I came here and read about my problem. Thanks for giving me a clear head so I could find a good solution.
My solution was to remove all Mozilla/Firefox products and then install other browsing options. It felt funny because for the first time in years I had to use Microsoft Internet Explorer to find other options. My computer is problem free and fast as usual now.
I wonder how many other users have abandoned them due to this BS?? I for one will probably stick with my new choices now.
YES, Weeks of TRASH = FIREFOX 3.66

  • CPU usage goes off the meter everytime I start firefox and when I open add-ons tab to troubleshoot the CPU usage goes and then stays on normal. Why?

The CPU usage is 99% everytime I start firefox. When I open help tabs in the browser to troubleshoot the problem the cpu goes down to normal. How am I supposed to troubleshoot the issue if the last resort is as simple as uninstalling firefox?
    Running: Firefox 5.0
    OS. H.P. Windows XP/ sp3 , mem. 1536 MB , Pent.4.

Hi musicfan,<br />Sorry you are having problems with Firefox. Maybe you should have asked earlier and we could have fixed it.
Reading your comments I do not see that rolling back to an insecure Firefox 22 will actually help you much. You are probably best using IE, unless you have also damaged that.
    *[[Export bookmarks to Internet Explorer]]
You should not use old versions they are insecure. Security fixes are publicised and exploitable.
    * [[Install an older version of Firefox]]
    * https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html
Most others will not be having such problems. We are now able to say that with confidence because after developers missed a regression in Firefox 4 telemetry was introduced so that data was obtained. It may be an idea to turn on your telemetry, if you have not already done so, and decide to stick with Firefox.

Trying safe mode takes seconds. Unfortunatly if you are not willing to do even rudimentary troubleshooting there is not anything we can do to help you.

  • Firefox loads the "welcome to firefox" along with my homepage (firefox startup page) everytime I start firefox up. It also checks for add-on compatibility at the same time.

My firefox program is regularly updated (automatic update). Normally, after an update, when I start up firefox the "welcome to firefox" (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/6.0.2/whatsnew/) with all the new features and stuff display pops up, but only for the first time, together with the add-on compatibility check
This time, however, it just keeps loading everytime I start up firefox. It seems to think that I've just updated all the time. It's not a problem (nothing else is affected), I'm just wondering why this is happening. Suggestions?
I'm running firefox 6.0.2 on a windows 7 platform. No patches or funny stuff added to firefox. Standard players and video/audio encoders.

  • Firefox popup everytime i run firefox.

everytime i open up firefox, my mac opens up a popup. in the popup there is a icon of firefox with an arrow pointing at a programs folder. i tried everything, but it keeps coming up.

    Mr Saphique wrote:
The reason it popped up everytime is because it's mounted. It usually is dismounted by dragging it to dock where a eject icon will appear. You don't need to trash de dmg.
You drag it TO THE TRASH, which changes to an eject icon with a mounted dmg file!!!

  • I have installed version 6.0.2. Everytime I start Firefox, a popup opens up titled 'opening firefox setup 6.0.2.exe' and offers to save the file. How do I stop this from popping up since I already have the version offered?

The update was attempted automatically, I think. When it would not complete it said download and run the update manually. I did that. Every time I start Firefox the Firefox Setup 6.0.2.exe file is offered up to save.

    * see [[firefox has just updated tab shows each time you start Firefox]]
Probably you have accidentally added the new page as an addition to your home pages, or Firefox is having problems with your settings; it may help to close down with the <br/> '''Firefox button -> []Exit'''; rather than just quitting the application.

  • Everytime I start firefox my speed dials are emtpy, how can I set my speed dial to keep what I put on it

'''I have set up my speed dial with my favorite websites but everytime I go out of my firefox browser then start it up again my speed dial shows up as empty...why is this?'''

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":
    *do not clear Browsing History
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Clear+Recent+History
Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

  • How can I stop firefox from opening mulitiple tabs from past sessions everytime I start Firefox?

When I start Firefox from my task bar (windows 8) Firefox opens tabs from the previous secession. I'm using Yahoo as my home page.

You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that sets the <b>browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once</b> pref to true.

  • Is there a way to open a number of specific websites on three different tabs by clicking on the Home icon WITHOUT having them open everytime I start Firefox?

It's great to be able to have Firefox open more than one homepage but I'd like it to do that only when I click on the Home icon, not every time I open Firefox.

You can make a backup copy of the sessionstore.js file in the Firefox profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
Windows hides some file extensions by default.
Among them are .html and .ini and .js and .txt, so you may only see file name without file extension.
You can see the real file type (file extension) in the properties of the file via the right-click context menu in Windows Explorer.
