I'm getting a port scanning attack from my iPad?

A while ago, my dad got me an iPad 2, however, he went on vacation shortly after and used it on his vacation.
I'm not sure if it was also happening before he went on vacation, however, ever since I got it back, I am getting popup notifications from my firewall (ESET Smart Security 5 Firewall) that there is a port scanning attack coming from 192.168.1.7.
I logged in to my router via 192.168.1.1, and on my connections list it shows my iPad being 192.168.1.7.
What the heck is going on? Is this a bad setting from my iPad, or is it possible (somehow, I don't know) that there is some sort of virus/bug with my iPad?
I switched my ESET firewall to interactive mode and tried to connect a few times, and set some exceptions for iTunes connectivity, etc, but when I go back, the port scanning message keeps coming up. It is not constant, however it is in random time frames. Sometimes it'll happen once every 10 minutes, others once every 30.
What can I do? Should I try resetting everything to default on my iPad? Is this just a random thing that happens because my firewall is detecting a false positive?
Please help!
Thanks,
Kolgera

It's very possible that either data is being transfered through your router or iPad2 in a non-standard way or some ping requests between the devices has perhaps caused the notification to display. The following ESET Knowledgebase Article should help: http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/SOLN295
If this doesn't help or you're unable to reach the page, you can put in a support case request with ESET Customer Care by going to http://go.eset.com/us/support/contact

  • Symantec and port scan attacks

I have found many post on the port scan attacks created by Symantec on client computers, however it seems my port scan attacks are being blocked on the Spiceworks server side.  All the clients are showing up in spiceworks with no scan errors, but when logged onto Spiceworks server there is a port scan attack every few minutes from the clients.

No. While the encryption of your wireless network is mandatory to protect other people in your proximity to access your network, computers, internet connection or eavesdrop your computers it has nothing to do with port scan attacks. Port scan attacks originate from the internet. The router will block those unless you have configured port forwardings on your router or a computer opened ports on the router through UPnP. This is because your router does NAT which makes the LAN unaccessible from the internet.
Port scans are not really attacks but just the general "noise" in the internet. There is nothing you can do about it except not using the internet. As long as you don't have open ports there is nothing to worry about. And even if you have opened a port for instance for gaming it still depends on whether the program listening on that port is vulnerable or not.

How do I get my music onto icloud from my ipad? I can see i have plenty of icloud storage but can't get my music to store on icloud hence taking up lots of storage on my ipad

If you want to be able to access your entire music library from iCloud, you'll have to subscribe to iTunes Match (http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/).  Music purchased from the iTunes store is already in iCloud as it can be redownloaded at any time (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519).

  • HT1766 An Apple consultant said I could get rid of itune playlist from my ipad by connecting the cable from my ipad to a computer that does not have songs from itunes in its computer. I was not able to do it. Any suggestions?

How do you get rid of itunes playlist from my ipad? I was told you can sync it back to a computer that does not have any itunes songs. It did not work.

I'm sure I don't completely understand the question.
How to get rid of an iTunes playlist from your iPad? Just delete the items while using iTunes. The next time you sync, they'll be gone from your playlist.

  • Incoming Connections Port Scan warning from anti-virus software

My anti-virus gave me a warning that a port scan had occurred on my Mac, after which I blocked the address of the incoming connection. Does this mean my computer has been hacked and what should I do? Today I also noticed two worrisome outgoing connections entitled "wwwalt2.infoyouaskedfor.com" and "Gemini.leadertech.com" that repeatedly kept appearing on my anti-virus network monitor, one after the other. I entered them in the "Whois" window but it didn't give me any information. My Mac Firewall was already set to only allow incoming connections from applications with certificates, so I don't understand how this happened.

    Hi AML225;
Try ClamXav. It is free and runs will on Macs.
Norton even for free is terrible on a Mac. It causes more problems then it solves.

  • How do I get all my music library from my iPad to iMac after hard drive replacement?

Recently my iMac hard drive crashed and was replaced with a new one.  Thankfully the entire music library was still on my iPad.  However, with the new hard drive, iTunes will only let me move over the purchased tracks from the iPad to the iMac.  This is not good since most of our music was purchased on CD and loaded into iTunes.  iTunes states that you can only sync with one computer and the iPad is showning a different library than my iMac.  How do I fix this?  Apple is holding my legally purchased music hostage!

No, they aren't holding it hostage. You are relying upon Apple to provide a service  you should be doing by backing up your computer properly.
Some of the information below is summarized by turingtest2 in the post at https://discussions.apple.com/message/18842615
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer is designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

Your iPhone must also be signed into the same iCloud account as the iPad. Then look in Settings/iCloud/Photo Stream and ensure both My Photo Stream and Shared Photo Streams are turned on.

  • How do I get a purchased ring tone from my iPad to my iPhone?

I purchased a new ring tone and wasn't thinking.  I downloaded it to my iPad instead of my iPhone.  I don't know how to transfer it from the iPad to my iPhone.

Transfer it to your iTunes library, on your computer, then sync it to your phone. Connect your iPad, iTunes running, without syncing, right-click the iPad in the left device pane: Transfer Purchases. Then, sync it to your phone.

  • I cannot get old notes to sync from my iPad to iCloud.

I have hundreds of notes on my iPad 2. They were originally created on an old iPhone 4S and synced over to the iPad 2. The iPhone 4S is now gone. I bought a iPhone 5S. I can create notes on my iPad 2 and sync them to iCloud (which then goes to the iPhone).  I can do the same in reverse: iPhone 5S to iCloud to iPad 2.  However I cannot find a way to get the hundreds of old notes on my iPad 2 to go to iCloud and then to the iPhone 5S. Apple is telling me that I'll have to hand-enter the hundreds of notes.  There HAS to be a better way!

It will be recognised as a camera if you've got photos on it that were taken with it, copied to via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc i.e. non-computer synced photos (it's the way by which they can be copied off the iPad : if you want to turn the camera feature offthen there are instructions here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083).
In terms of iTunes, have you got the most recent version ? If you've tried rebooting your computer and it still doesn't appear, then there is troubleshooting help here : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 for PC, and http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1591 for Mac

  • I have an IPAD2 that I upgraded to IOS 5.  There is no option to get newer episodes of podcasts from my Ipad.  Why the feature degredation ??

I used to be able to sync my podcasts to my Ipad2 in the previous release of the OS via the "Get More Episodes option",  That option is not in the current os or if it is its not easily found.
Why do I have to sync my subscribed podcasts via my PC for this supposedly syncless os ?
    Why was this feature removed?
The whole purpose of me buying an Ipad was so I wouldn't have to keep things in sync via a PC.  The previous version of the OS did an excellent job of that.  Now I have to connect at least 1 time a week to keep up.
This is a clear feature degridation and not a very good one, and I'm  NOT HAPPY AT ALL about this.  I'm actually glad my Ipod is generation 2 because at least its still useful on the previous OS.
I hope you fix this bug in an upcomming release.

I'm also on iPhone 4, iOS 6, and have exactly the same problem. I've tried resetting privacy settings, turning restrictions on and off, deleting and reinstalling apps. Nothing seems to work. The lists of apps in privacy settings are all empty, except for location services. When using Tweetbot the app is regularly asking for permission to access my twitter account, but even when I allow that, the app doesn't show in privacy settings. When I try to go into the camera roll from the Facebook app, the app tells me I have to allow access to the camera roll from the privacy settings - which I can't do since the app is not listed there.

  • How do I get air play to work from my ipad?

How do I get my Apple TV to allow me to go to my ipad on airplay it is not working

Welcome to the Apple Community Jaden.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    Restart your mobile device.

  • HT4743 I downloaded a tv episode. When I press play it starts to load then immediately goes back to the episode page. I've tried rebooting my ipad but that doesn't help. I can't get into my account info from my ipad as suggested.

I recently purchased a tv episode from ITunes. It shows that it has downloaded. When I press play it starts to load then immediately returns to the episode page. I have tried rebooting several times.

Basics from the manual are restrt, reset, restore.
Have you tried each of these?

Yes, their email is powered by Yahoo! who is having critical issues with their email products. It's been all over the news so I'm surprised you didn't see it.
