I'm glad to see I'm not alone

It seems lots of folks have had the same experience -- Google Chrome sneaking in along with a 'security update' for Adobe Flash Player. I tried at least twice, and didn't see any box to uncheck to opt out. Maybe I missed it, but I was looking for it so it must have been fairly well camouflaged.
For fun, I looked up how Adobe's stock has done in the last year. Pretty well, actually. The stock analysts seem to think Adobe's profits will grow as people use the 'cloud' more. (Whatever the cloud is. My rudimentary understanding is that the cloud is a way to substitute something on the internet for your own computer's hard drive. Why anyone would want to trust stuff to a system like that is beyond me. Maybe that's just because I don't understand the cloud, but if Adobe can sneak or trick us into accepting stuff onto our own computers, right under our own noses, why should we think things are more secure out in a cloud somewhere?) Anyway, as long as the stock price is thriving, the bigwigs at Adobe can probably get away with ignoring all the complaints on this thread.
Still, I can't help thinking Adobe has shot itself in the foot on this, and just hasn't noticed the bleeding. If I can't let security updates be installed on Adobe Flash Player, it will soon become a big security hole for my computer -- if it isn't already. Adobe Flash Player with no new security updates is an open door for malware. That's a headache that is way overpriced even if it's free. For a long time I thought Adobe's business model was to charge for the software to create videos and presentations, but to give away the software to watch them. If the free reader and player become a headache, people will eventually learn to uninstall them. When enough of the general public does that, Adobe's pay software will have little value.
So far, all I seem to need Flash Player for is to listen to some -- not all -- the things I want to hear on YouTube. I'll do without. Also, I'll hope Microsoft soon comes up with a substitute for Flash Player that I can use with Internet Explorer, and that Mozilla does the same for Firefox. If those substitutes work reasonably well, antivirus programs may start removing Flash Player and Adobe Reader. Ideally, they won't repear Adobe's mistake and do it without asking. I hope Avast, AVG, Norton, McAfee, and the others all have something that pops up during a scan and asks,
"Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Reader have become security loopholes that are difficult to guard. You can [or already have installed] alternates that work with your browser. Would you like your antivirus program to install those alternates and remove Flash Player and Adobe Reader?"

I see I am not alone... Data usage out of control!

So it seems unlike what customer service told me last week I am NOT the only one experiencing this problem!!!!! I have have a verizon cell phone for OVER 17 years and although there have been many frustrations over those years I have never made me angry like this one! We have 4 iPhones in out home and have had the same situation with the same users for over 4 years! In those 4 years I have NEVER gotten a warning for overage data charges even once we all lost out unlimited data almost a year ago with new phone purchases. In February we changed one phone from a 5s to a 6. This forced us to have to go to a shared data plan. The Verizon rep at our local store told me that as a family we had NEVER EXCEEDED 7GB of data in a given month in over a years time (and probably longer but he couldn't see back that far). And that we only got that close 1x (which happen to be when we were on vacation) never other month in the time he checked we were well below 6 GB. I decide on the 8GB plan to be safe and not worry about messages to upgrade plan... For the past 2 months since we had to switch the plan... We have had to increase the plan... 1x last month and this month about 5 days since the 7th day of the cycle I have been having to upgrade!!!! I find this extremely suspicious!!!!! We all hontonthe same schools and work place and live in the same house doing the same jobs we did before we had to switch the plan! The only variable is the change in the plan!!!! I know there is something not right going on and said as much to the representative on the 45 min call we had lst week. She told me I was crazy! I see that I am not alone! Others have the same complaint! I have now added over 25.00 to the plan and have 5days left and got another 90# warning! It is starting to sound very fishy to me! Before a rep writes to tell me to check to be sure we are all using wifi when on wifi and to check our utilization, etc..: I have don't it all! And will reiterate we are all using our phones and data in the exact same way as we did before the plan changed!!!! The only variable is the plan change!!!!
Might be time to look for a new carrier. . How incredibly disappointing! Obviously this is a VERIZON issue or I would be the only one having it! Verizon fix it! Someone is another chat suggested contacting the FTC... Maybe that is an avenue to seek... We the consumer need recourse! Or the BBB!
Something needs to be set right! I would like to hear what verizon is doing to address this issue that is angering me and many other customers!!!!

Jrsquared I want to look into this further. When you did your plan changes that you are mentioning, did you do them on demand? Or did you backdate (or future date) these plan changes? The reason I ask is an on demand plan change, changes the plan right then and there. Which means the amount you pay for your new plan is pro-rated, but so is the amount of data available for you to use. For example if you changed from the 6GB to the 8GB plan in the middle of your bill cycle, you would only be paying for half the 8GB plan... but you would also only have 4GB available to use until the beginning of your next bill cycle.

OTN Download -> early first week in July
Orderable from the Oracle Store -> 8-10 business days after OTN download (~mid-July) and
Just wanted to give another short update. We are in the very final phases of the release and are currently
on track to have Release 2 for NT available next week - probably towards the middle/end of the week. A message at the end of the week to say why it wasn't there, and the new expected date, would have been nice.

I make my living consulting using Oracle products, and in general I like both the company (ie the people from Oracle that I deal with) and it's products. However, I still can't understand why Oracle consistently delivers products late, and almost always in such as state that they cannot be installed 'as is'. It's not a valid argument to say, as some do, that Oracle is an 'advanced' product for 'experts only' - what we're actually being presented with is poor quality control and lack of QA, poor communication, and lack of focus on the user experience in actually getting these products to work. The charade of all the rubbish excuses, broken promises, and inexcusable delay, in releasing 9iASr2 for Windows is just a symptom of this.
I bet you, as well, that when it actually is delivered, one or more of the following will happen;
- it won't install without carrying out some undocumented task that'll appear on metalink a couple of days later
- it'll use the version of Apache that's been highlighted as having security flaws
- a really key feature, such as Universal Messaging, wont work
- integration with the login server/OID/LDAP etc will be up the creek
I look forward to monday, and some clear instructions for once on how to install it. I will officially eat my Oracle promotional cap if it downloads straight away, installs cleanly, and all the features work 'out of the box'

I believe the issue is with the Apple ID that was used to purchase the App. If you download an App that was purchased under a different Appple ID then all updates will also be linked to the original purchaser's Apple ID. Your Apple ID is the the same ID as your iTunes, iCloud, etc. Some folks use different ID for the different Apple sites. No need for that One ID for all Apple Sites, and if someone else buys an App using their ID and they(you) download that App onto your device and that App requires an update it will ask for the purchasers Apple ID. This happens a lot when folks sell their iPad or give it to someone else and leave some purchased(free) Apps on the iOS device. You cannot change the original ID the App was purchased under. A suggestion would be if someone else has an App that you like but do not want to pay for use their ID or in the future have them gift the App to you.

1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.

go to settings and sign out his apple id in the sections i tell you:
1.game center
2.itunes and appstore
3.messages
4.icloud(delete acount;it wont realy delete it will only remove from your ipad)
5.facetime
and then enter your icloud in each and every section

Address Book Suggestion: See who is NOT in a Group

I recently moved all of my contacts from Entourage to the Address Book in OS X, and am very happy with it. On top of the ease of use of the Address Book, its integration with MobileMe and the iPhone is wonderful.
As I organized and updated my 300+ contacts, I began to sort them into Groups. I quickly found that I could move people to the group easily, but I had a hard time remembering who was NOT in that group already.
I would like to suggest adding a view or filter to see who is NOT in a given group. That way, you can quickly scan your list of contacts, and add any that are missing, completing the group.

This would work for contacts that are only in one group, but some are in more than one - rather than creating a smart group for every group (doubling the number of groups I have), I would like to suggest this be a feature of the Address Book app, much like how Home Sharing in iTunes 9 will tell you what music is NOT in your current library, so you can choose to import it.

First, try to reset by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again.
If this does not help, connect in recovery mode and restore, explained in this article: iOS: Unable to update or restore

How can I see show notes on I Pad. I like that I can see "show notes - lyrics" on my Iphone, I have bashed away for hours and searched the web but I can see any way to do this see the show notes or "lyrics". As I have some hearing loss I really need to be able to stop start and read at the same time.
Please help me and other hearing imapred users. I have updated, I am new to Ipad, I assumed it would be possible before I purchased. Have I made a mistake?
