I'm going to college. Should I get a Macbook Pro13in with the I5 or I7. I play league of legends and record music. my laptop hecka lags so i wanna avoid that. I stream movies all the time. I5 is $1100 and I7 is $1400.i want my laptop to last 10yr help!:)

I don't think that you'll get any notebook (or any computer, these days) to last for ten years! I did have a MacBook Pro that lasted me for 6 years, and is still operational, but it simply can't be upgraded any longer.
If you're going to play games, record music, etc., the dual-core i7 is going to be your best bet, however - well worth the $300 difference.

The strap of my bag broke when my laptop was in it, now it is making a buzzing noise all the time when I am using it. I have warranty with protection plan, how do I fix it?
Take it in and have it assessed. They do not have to know about the bag incident unless the explicitly ask for the specific details (like when you are being questioned by a TSA screener, LEO, etc.). As far as you know, the noise started up and it is getting warm. With luck it is just an unbalanced fan that needs replacement.

this button is a little white circle in a black square that you can move all over you screen on your phone if you tap it it gives you home, favorites, voice control, device, a shortbut button that is suppose to save your buttons on your phone by you using this button on the screen. I hate it. Anyone know how to get rid of it??

After reverting back to Garageband 6.0, I find that I still lack all the Garageband Effects (Distortion, Vocal Transformer, etc.). The Garageband 10 "AU" plug ins are there instead.
For background: I lost my v6 because I had to reformat my whole hard drive. When I reformatted I lost GB and everything else I had. I downloaded GB (unaware of the awfulness that is v10) from the App Store. The fact that v10 does not have all my favorite and most used effects from v6, I uninstalled v10 and redownloaded v6 from my App Store Purchases. I load up v6 only to find that all the default effects are there for each instrument, but when I go to add an effect (i.e. Distortion, Vocal Transformer, Flanger, etc.), instead of the list of classic effects, there's the list of awful AU effects from v10. What gives?!I don’t have this issue, but I am looking to learn about which parts of the old GarageBand can safely migrate to the new GarageBand 10.

here is the steps to move SCOTT's objects from their current tablespace to a NEW_TABLESPACE
would be:
1) do an export of all of scott's objects. Make sure no one modifies them after you
begin this process. You will lose these changes if they do.
$ exp userid=scott/tiger owner=scott
2) you would drop all of scotts tables. This will get the indexes as well. I don't
suggest dropping the user SCOTT but rather dropping scott's objects. Dropping scott
would cause any system priveleges SCOTT has to disappear and the import would not restore
them. This script can be used to drop someones tables:
set heading off
set feedback off
set verify off
set echo off
spool tmp.sql
select 'drop table &1..' || table_name || ' cascade constraints;'
from dba_tables
where owner = upper('&1')
spool off
@tmp.sql
3) You would modify the user to not have unlimited tablespace (else the IMP will just
put the objects right back into the tablespace they came from) and then give them
unlimited quota's on the new tablespace you want the objects to go into and on their
temporary tablespace (for the sorts the index creates will do)
alter user SCOTT default tablespace NEW_TABLESPACE
revoke unlimited tablespace from SCOTT
alter user SCOTT quota unlimited on NEW_TABLESPACE
alter user SCOTT quota unlimited on SCOTTS_TEMPORARY_TABLESPACE
4) you will IMP the data back in for that user. IMP will rewrite the create statements
to use the users default tablespace when it discovers that it cannot create the objects
in their original tablespace. Please make sure to review the file imp.log after you do
this for any and all errors after you import.
imp userid=scott/tiger full=y ignore=y log=imp.log
5) you can optionally restore 'unlimited tablespace' to this user (or not). If you do
not, this user can only create objects in this new tablespace and temp (which in itself
is not a bad thing)...

What is the best way to move all the apps and iTunes content (songs, podcasts, etc) from one Mac to another Mac? I am switching to a newer computer. I connect (with cables) an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2 to the old computer for syncing.

When I recently got a new MacBook, I set it up with Times Machine using a backup of the old computer. It could not have been easier. If you use Time Machine - that will copy the contents of the old Mac to the new Mac - iTunes library included. You will have to authorize the new Mac in iTunes - Store>Authorize this computer.
There are ways of copying the purchased contents from the iPad to the new iTunes library as well if you need to do that. But as long as you have the old Mac - copying the library and putting it on the new Mac makes the most sense. -

is it possible to move all the items in the layer to move to the new page with the same coordinates in the page 1
eg:
i have two layer named "layer_page1"and one more layer named "layer_page2"
i have 2 text frame objects , 1 rectangle objects in the "
layer_page1" and 3 text frame objects, 3 rectangle objects in the "layer_page2"
all the items are in the page.items(0).
now i will add a new page to the document
and i need to move all the items in the layer named "layer_page2" to the new page, i.e page.item(1). is it possible?
if it is possible it will solve lot my efforts typing.. and verifying.

hm, I don't think your untested script will work in a predictable way. Technically it will work a bit. Just tested it. But:
1. if you loop from index 0 to the end, even if you loop from the end to index 0 you will mess the index of the pageItems when moving them to a different page
=> I recommend grouping all pageItems on the specified layer, so that we have to move only one pageItem, the new group
2. problem with move() to another page is, that you cannot retain the original page coordinates of the moved object, it will get 0,0 coordinates automatically
=> we have to store the coordinates of the group first, then move, then apply the old coordinates
3. in a real-world scenario we should deal with the possibility of locked pageItems
4. Furthermore we have to make sure that the layer is not locked
The following example will unlock all pageItems on that layer and will lock them after they are moved:

I recently filled up my 30GB ipod classic so I got a new 160GB classic. My 30GB is synced to an old Windows PC and my new ipod is synced to a Mac. Can I move all the music on my old ipod (even if some songs aren't in my old library) to my new ipod?
You can't trasfer music between different accounts. If both computers use the same iTunes account, simply sync them to the same computer.
Music from old ipod goes to that computer, then select which tunes you want added to the new ipod and sync it. -
I have recently bought a new mac mini running Lion, and yesterday I migrated an account off an older machine running Tiger.
I want to delete the older account from this machine as it is causing some problems with i-cloud, but I want to transfer the photos first and add them to a different account on the new computer.
So my question is How do I move all the photos from the i-photo library on one account to the i-photo library on another account?Copy the iPhoto library from the old Mac to the Desktop of the new one. Then download the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager, which is now compatible with Mt. Lion, and use it to merge the two libraries into a new, third library. This will preserve the two libraries in case the merged library isn't to your liking.

When you're satisfied that the new, merged libraray is complete and working OK you can delete the two earlier libraries.

what we decided to do is move all the Standard and ad-hoc reports from the basic cube to the multiprovider. How to do it? and make a copy of the basic cube and do the maintenence on the cube. please help.

This sounds good and one thing we try to always keep in mind when undertaking such activities is to always minimise the impact to the user and make the process as transparent to them as possible. So lets say you have your multiprovider and copied queries up in Prod, these queries will still pick up the data from the base cube.
Now you need to make a copy of the base cube for some changes to the cube model, I would suggest that you copy the cube and make your changes on the copied cube itself. Then 9depending on the changes done) you can load data from Original Cube to New Cube. When this is being done, make sure that you change your queries to add a restriction on 0INFORPOV by Original Cube.
After the load to the new cube is complete you can run reports restricted to each cube to verify the numbers. Then change the 0INFOPROV restriction in the queries to point to the New Cube and disengage the old cube from the multiprovider.

want to move all the sent, draft mails recieved on thunderbird to be sent to local folder automatically like global inbox . I tried to use filters, send filter addon but they didn't worked for me, even tried changing the account setting for "copies and folder" to set for moving sent mail or draft mail to sent to local folder but that also didn't work.
So is there a manual setting or an addon to work for it.Marked answered due to no alternative. Not resolved due to an IMAP limitation in the way that some "IMAP supporting" offerings don't actually support IMAP according to spec.

I was wondering if there was an easy way to take all the songs in a specific playlist and move them to another folder?
example Itunes keeps my library organized and I want to move all the songs in my top played playlist from their respective folders (I would actually rather copy and paste them) into a separate folder... Is there an easy way to do this?Create the new folder on your desktop. Highlight the tracks in iTunes and drag to the new folder.
This action creates a copy of each file and places it in the new folder. It does not change, move, or affect the files that iTunes is already using.
