I'm gonna dump Firefox if you don't come up with a way to support iPad 2.
When is Firefox going to support my iPad2?
Right now, I have three devices.
1)PC Laptop
2)Android Smart Phone
3)iPad 2
Currently there is a very 'lazy' version of Firefox on my Droid and iPad.
Do you guys plan to fix this lazy version or are you on the way out???

I'm pretty sure the day will come when we will see a full blown Firefox browser on iOS when Apple lessens its tight-grip on their stores policies. The iOS SDK agreement requires apps to use Apple's own JavaScript engine (or none at all, like Opera Mini which downloads pre-rendered pages from Opera's servers and cannot run JavaScript code in the client). Because of this, there is no supported way to distribute Firefox's rendering and JavaScript engine to iPhone users. Thus is the reason why you can not find Firefox proper on the App Store.
However, you can download Firefox Home for iPhone, an iOS app that uses Firefox Sync to deliver Firefox bookmarks, browsing history, and tabs to your iPhone or iPod Touch.

This isn't really a question, but that doesn't matter, right?
First of all, you know how to upgrade, right? Install the new version of iTunes, plug in your iDevice, click on it on the sidebar, and click Update.
PRECAUTION: You should sync first, but it's not required at all, especially if you CAN'T sync because you're updating on a secondary computer. iTunes will create a backup for you during the update process.
If you are updating on a computer that you normally sync with...
Just click Download and Update!
If you AREN'T updating on a computer that you normally sync with...
You'll get a message that says it will erase everything on your iDevice.
Who cares? Just update!

Backup Time: (Around 30 GB of data) 1.5 Hours (DON'T SKIP THIS STEP!)

After the long wait, and something on your iDevice shows up about setting up a new device, jump right in and answer the 5-10 questions or so!
Then, you'll see your new iOS 5 iDevice for the first time.

This is normal, and WILL happen in 90-95 percent of users! There is a way to stop this from happening, but don't go that route... It takes DAYS to do... There are two ways to restore all of your apps, WITH THEIR PROGRESS TOO! (Angry Birds time!) Apple will NOT charge you for redownloading!
1. Just go into the App Store on your device, go into updates, and click the new purchased bar. From there, click the little cloud next to all the apps you need to download. They will redownload with their progress!
2. Or, you can go into iTunes, (Purchased tab), and from there redownload all of your apps.
This WILL happen whether or not you do this update on a computer you normally sync with or not. I did this update on a computer I don't normally sync with and it worked perfectly!
I waited four days researching what will happen if I update on a computer that I don't normally sync with, but with no avail, so I decided to bite the bullet, and this worked perfectly! Time to work on Angry Birds! iOS 5 is worth the 3 hour wait!

Once the upgrade completed, my phone got an apple symbol with a line under it, and it is just frozen. I tried to sync back to my computer 3 times, and each time, it stops on step 3/4 for the sync. Under the apps, it says something like 'searching for apps to load.' It freezes there for hours. I waited 7 hours the first time, woke up, did it again and 11 hours later, come home from work, stuck on the same screen again. I restarted itunes, and it will not even let me press the sync button. It is like the sync button is already clicked, and it says - 'loading device.' It has been stuck on that for hours.
I am so disappointed with this 'update.' My phone worked fine yesterday. Can somebody tell me what to do to get my phone to work again? I do not even care if I keep the update or not. I just want a working phone. Just to be clear, I lost EVERYTHING. I lost the ability to even turn my phone on, and apparently, my computer lost the ability to 'read' my phone. I can see all of the info on my computer, but my phone will not power on, and the computer will not sync my phone to the info that is stored. -

Mozilla firefox won't open it comes up with mozilla crash reporter before the browser opens
I cannot open the browser at all everytime I try and open it it comes up with crash reporter and then the browser doesn't open at all. I cannot open it in safe mode either as when I try and press shift while opening it it doesn't even come up with an option to open it in safe mode. I cannot troubleshoot it if it is not opening either which is frustrating. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still no use.

Firefox does not load pages, comes back with server not found
First I thought this was a problem with Firefox 4 beta but now I am having the same issue with 3.6.16
About 70% of the times, Firefox does not open the web page and comes back with "Server not found" message. Interesting thing is it comes back with this message on the first 2 tries and then on the third try for the same link it will display the page. Always, 2 fails and 3rd time it works. Now during the first two times, internet commnection is working and if I try the same URL on IE it works without any issues. This started happening after I tried Firefox 4 beta. 4 is not uninstalled and I am back to 3.6.16. But the issue remains.
I am using Win 7 64 Home Premium, SP1 is not applied yet but all updates are in place.Well, I'm using Firefox 4.0 and have the same problem. I tried to open my private homepage and my *.net-domain comes back with the "Server not found" message (my *.com-domain loads without any problem - same contents on both websites)
I also tried to open my net-domain in FF portable - without any problems.
Clearing the cache, deleting the cookies etc in FF4 does not help either.
I also had the experience that FF4 does not load CSS5 websites (e.g. deviantart) properly (CSS does not work, website shows simply the html-version, a disgusting look). With FF portable the problem does not exist.
I tried this on different machines (e.g. Windows XP Pro SP3 (office PC), Win7 Pro 64, Win Vista SP2... (home PCs) and there I'm experiencing the same issues with FF4 and various websites. -
How to restart firefox if you don't access the help menu or any tabs?
I was in the middle of restarting firefox when my laptop shut off (I have a macbook pro) & when I turned it back on I opened firefox and this message keeps popping up:
"Profile missing Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."
I've tried looking it up but all I'm getting told is how to reset it & a few other things I can't figure out.
I can't reset it since when I open it the only menu option is "firefox" there's no "help" menu or anything like before. Also I've tried turning off my laptop & reinstalling it, I logged out & went onto another account and the firefox worked fine.. except I don't want to have to use another account when all my stuff is on this one. So is there any other way to reset it or something quick to do?I'm not sure it's necessary to use the Reset feature, but if you wanted to, I think you would need to hold down the Option key when starting Firefox. That should display a small dialog with the choices of starting in Safe Mode or performing a Reset.

If you use Time Machine or other backup software/service, you may be able to restore your profile folder. However, as a Windows user, I'm out of my depth on the steps for that. -

It happens whilest adding files from PC to Ipad (*.png) using Itunes... Is this solveable in any way?? Its driving me crazy!
Oh, and it takes HOURS with Itunes! :/ (50mb)I booted into recovery and repaired disk permissions with the disk utility from there. That fixed it. Apperently it repairs more stuff than when you´re booted into the OS. But what an annoying bug, this happened twice to me already by now...

I was logged in to reply in the thread "Firefox will not work with paypal". I spent the better part of an hour carefully composing that reply, testing cases, providing links, etc... [Hint: Firefox, unlike other browsers, has a problem with scripts from server paypalobjects.com.] Because I had taken so long to compose the reply, it seemed like a good idea to check it via the Preview button, but I got a message that that function was not available. Of course I decided to submit it anyway, but when I hit "Submit" I got a message "You don't have permission ..." - at which point I was (stupidly) on a different page with that message, and everything I had composed was gone!
It might be too late for this, but it's what I use when this happens. Prepare for deep nerdom:
* Open the web console below the error page by pressing Ctrl+Shift+k
* Right-click the blank area and turn on logging of the request and response bodies
* Resubmit the request by clicking the reload button
* Click the new URL that appears to open the viewer showing the headers and bodies
There you may be able to copy out the content of your post from the Request Body. You can use a word processor or text editor to find/replace the + characters back to spaces. -
Been having problems with Firefox/internet for several days, and all my updates seemed current. I decided to try to reload and have removed the other icons/download attempts from the app file. When I try to drag the icon into apps, I now get this message:

She doesn't have admin privileges, so when I tried to install Firefox 4 in her account, I had to authenticate with my admin identity and PW. Installation went smoothly after that. My guess is that you could also simply create a new account on the same machine and install Firefox 4 from that. I have no idea why this works.

have firefox 3.0.10 on my Mac with OS X .5.6 I can download the latest version of firefox, 7.0.1 dmg. I can open that and get a drive on the desktop. I am the only user and system administrator. How can I not have sufficient privileges? but when I drag the firefox program to the applications folder I always get this message from the firefox program. "you don't have sufficient privileges to open firefox" What is going wrong to prevent me from updating my firefox?
