I'm having a popup box come up...

Whenever I try to view anything in video format online, I get a box that says "Adobe Flash Player settings: local storage d.yimg.com is requesting permission to store information on your computer" It has an "allow" and a "deny" button at the bottom,but if you hit "deny" nothing happens, and it just continues to sit there.
Does anyone know how to get rid of this? I believe one of my kids may have clicked on something while on a game site, and that is why it is even here.

You can trick Flash into thinking it works and not have to bother allowing that content from the pop-up. This will also remove and prevent any persistent Flash cookies (Local Shared Objects.)
As far as I can tell all sites employing Flash will continue to function properly. I haven't encountered any problems playing Flash content and all that crap is permanently denied.
First, to get a new, clean folder, start by trashing the Macromedia folder in ~/Library/Preferences. That's in your user Library. Next, do not visit the local Flash Pref Pane in Sys Prefs. Instead, go directly to Adobe Global Privacy settings in the Adobe Settings Manager and set Camera and Mic to "Always deny." Visiting the Settings Manager will automatically create a new, clean Macromedia folder.
(If you first visit the local Flash Pref Pane, the new Macromedia folder will lack the empty default #shared objects folder and its also empty enclosed folder (this is the one with a combination of characters and numerals.) I haven't tested to see what will happen if those two folders are not present. I assume, providing the Macromedia folder is unlocked, they would be created as soon as one visits a Flash site, but they will not be empty and this would defeat the entire purpose.)
If you visit the local Flash Pref Pane now, all the defaults will remain, except for the Camera and Mic panel, where "Always deny" will be checked. Next, it seems prudent to go to the Playback panel and check "Block all sites from using peer assisted networking." But, important, in the Storage panel, you must leave the default "Allow sites to save...." checked. This is how sites using Flash are tricked into thinking storage of Flash Cookies is being allowed when they are, in fact, not.
Next, go back to the Macromedia Folder and, using GetInfo/CMD-I, recursively lock all its enclosed folders. This means starting from the back working ones way up to the front. And, finally, lock the enclosing Macromedia folder itself. Nothing gets stored and everything keeps on working.

You don't need to restart your computer to open Firefox again: you just need to close it manually through your application manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC in Processes tab). Anyway, hopefully this support article is what you need:

What's probably happening is that you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

My drop-down list won't appear anymore so every time I want to go to a new site I have to type it in where before my drop-down box would appear and I could just click it and hit search and go there how do I make my drop-down box come back

It's not a matter of me assuming to restore it, once the error comes up, the only next step I can do is to restore it. I can't access any of the iphones settings in itunes or anything, it's a mandatory restore. If I just cancel the sync (before restoring) and disconnect the phone, all my apps crash on opening: aka unusable phone. So I have literally no choice but to restore every time the error shows up if I want my phone to work.
I have no idea where I may have duplicate files as it doesn't tell me, so if that is the problem (which I don't think it is) then I don't know where I have to go to delete the duplicates.
And the duplicate file error still doesn't explain why leaving iTunes to restore the phone doesn't work and me having to drag the window around. I know it sounds utterly ridiculous, my friend didn't believe me when I told him either but then I showed him and he was as confused as I am. If I just leave the restore to do its own thing at it's own pace, it will loa maybe 20% then fail for whatever reason.

Email through a dialog popup box in ABAP

We have a requirement where in a user click on a button on the screen , the system should respond with a popup box where in he can enter some text and send it as an email.
I looked at the function SOTR_DIALOG_SEND_EMAIL . It is able to bring in the popupbox , enter text and also has a button to send email But when I execute this function I am getting a ABAP dump.
Request your help on this. This seems to be the function I need to use but it fails.

Currently I got around my requirement using a SEND function in an ALV grid to enable the email service. But still I feel that is too complex for the user community and the need we are addressing.
I tried the other techniques too with popup edit and then a email FM module. All of them works but I still feel it is simpler for our application to bring in a popup with edit capability , a place to put in an internet address , and a send mail button which would be similar SOTR_DIALOG_SEND_EMAIL function. Unfortunately this function fails when I click send. May be I am making some mistake or not using it the way it should be.
The advises and the links send via your replies provided me with a wealth of information related to this topic , which I am sure will be very useful in other applications which would come in our way. I appareciate and thanks for your time taken in response to my query.
I request that If you or any one find some way or know of some way of combining popup / edit and send capability , let me know.

Dialog boxes come up missing data, blanks where options should be.

Problem just started, when I bring up a dialog box to print or set preferences, the box comes up but all of the text normally in place is missing. I get the box, but the drop down boxes are empty as are all the page selection boxes and anything else.
I uninstalled and reinstalled, but problem still there.

Here we are in 2013 and this problem is still happening. You would think that in the course of two years Adobe would have figured out how to prevent this from happening. I am having the same problem when trying to print from IE8 in Win XP.
It turns out, that for me, this issue was caused by Windows Update KB2753842. Simply uninstalling this update using the Add/Remove Programs i the Control Panel fixed everything for me.

How to increase the iCal Alert Popup BOX height?

I would like to be able to increase iCal's Alert popup box to show more than two concurrent alert notifications at one time. Ideally, this popup box would dynamically size itself to the number of active alert notifications up to the available screen space. A second less elegant solution would be to enable the user to resize the iCal Alert popup box manually. A third even less elegant solution would be to statically redefine a new default height in terms of either active alert notifications or pixels. Anything would be better than the limitations currently in place...
Here is an example of three concurrent alerts. In this case, the user must scroll down within the iCal Alert popup box to see Alert #3.

Every time I open Firefox 4 I get a popup box saying: "OPENING FIREFOX SETUP 4.0.1.exe, Binary File from..." with different download link addresses

Every time I open Firefox 4 a popup box keeps trying to get me to run setup again. The box always reads: "Opening Firefox Setup 4.0.1.exe, Binary File from...." followed by a link address, which is different every time. I am having the same problem and it seems to have just started (6/15/11). I have tried reloading the program several times and even the first release of the 4.o with no success. The same scenario also occurs when I click to open a new "tab" after the browser is already launched.

Why do I get "Podcast Authorization Required" popup box?

Since recently applying the latest update to iTunes to version 11.2.2.3, I now get the following message in a popup box whenever I manually update my podcast list:

It wants a login and password to be entered. Hitting "cancel" makes it go away, but it'll pop up again sporadically as iTunes updates my podcasts. Any ideas on how to stop this from happening?
Another issue (possibly related to the above issue) is that iTunes constantly freezes/"not responding" when I manually update my podcasts. Both of these issues have occurred regularly since I applied the latest iTunes updates. Am I the only one who still hasn't learned not to trust any iTunes update from Apple?

Do you have an add-on called '''Ghostery '''installed? I tried it once myself and if you don't disable certain options, you get those purple popups appearing as can be seen in your screenshot. Go to Tools | Add-ons | Extensions to remove it.
If you can't find it, try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it works correctly in that configuration, then one of your other add-ons is the culprit.

Can I devise a popup box as a simple "Decline/Accept" button functionality?

I am playing around with Actions trying to create a popup box that will appear in front of a desired page with a 'Condition of entry' paragraph and buttons allowing a "Decline / Accept" option. If decline it takes a visitor back to a former page, while clicking 'Accept' allows a visitor to proceed to the page in question.
I do not need strict high security and fancy ASP or PHP or whatever, just regular html with javascript. Would this need to be set up with customized scripting, or can it be done using a combination of Actions - and which Actions? I am not over familiar with the use of Variables or Functions, or if this will require Cookies. Can I also incorporate a means of preventing the desired page (contents) from loading until the Acceptance button has been clicked?
Any assistance would be appreciated.

How do I remove, get rid of, take away "Updates Available" popup box?

I have wanted to get rid of this popup box that opens on my screen everyday even though I am not updating my software for many months and I have not seen a solution. The only way I have seen to get rid of it is to every single day press "later" then "remind me tomorrow," which is the last thing I want it to do. What happened to the days when Apple users had some say in what they see on the screen? I am a 20 year Mac user and many things are not as user friendly as they used to be 10 years ago, including iTunes and managing this popup, choosing colors for folders and icons in itunes and finder windows, navigating iTunes and so on. Wondering if others have these questions, concerns. Thank you. I have 10.9.5 OS and don't want to upgrade for a while.
