I'm having iPlanet LDAP problems too! Can someone give this admin a hand?
I've created the iPlanet Authenticator in my existing "myrealm" and have configured
everything. Now when I startup my Weblogic 7, I don't see anything related to
the initialization of the external iplanet LDAP directory server. Can someone
help? I just see one thing,

What are my next steps to make WLS 7.0 to iplanet directory a reality?

Hi,
Check if you can see users and groups from the directory server in the
console.

What are my next steps to make WLS 7.0 to iplanet directory a reality?Kai, should I be able to go to the "Users" for that realm and seach the
LDAP server?
Didn't think that was possible. If I had multiple authentication providers,
how
would WL know which provider to use?
Also, I looked at my config.xml and it doesn't seem to have the changes....should
it be in there?
thanks,
mr. C5
Hi,
The users page lists all users and provides in an additional column the source
(auth.prov.) from where the user has been sourced. If you don't see the users
from the LDAP directory it's not working properly. There is also a bug where the
users page is not loading if the number of users is too big. I'm working with
8 at the moment, but it should be the same with 7. The authentication provider
configuration of the default provider by BEA are stored in the internal LDAP.

My iMac is restarting "because of a problem". Can someone decipher this for me?
It's happened a few times. Sometimes I'll wake up and it's rebooted in the night. Here's the report:

Everything runs als Root, can someone give me a hand for the system rights?
yeah I screwed up big times because of this neat unknow_user "Feature" in Leopard.
First i installed a os 10.4 app under leopard which let the disk utility slow down and the finder crashes if i change the user rights, and then i changed globally the group and user of everything in the application folder and my documents folder with pathfinder for looking if i can solve the problem that way.
-But now everything runs as Root and even the hd itself has a owner root and as group admin.
i don't get the difference between system, root, admin, wheel, username for the owner and group. I googled but found nothing clear about this.
And i also wonder what i should do about the group and the meaning of root, system, admin, wheel, username as a group for a single user system. Where should i give a read, read&write and execute permission for example?
at the moment everything seems to run mostly root and every program runs on root and i think this is the worst think that can happen and causes some trouble for the programs.
Can someone give me a short hand and for example tell me if i should set the hd owner to my username and the group to system or admin or whatever and this also for the application and documents/film and other stuff on my user folder?
that would be great
I think i have to reinstall leopard, but as long as this unknow_user problem still resist and no patch is available, i see the same thing happen again and again for me, so a little help would be great
here the ls -l -a from the system and user directory

lizdance40, did you read the original post? The poster's problem is that when he connects the iPod to his computer the iPod does not appear in iTunes. He does not say he has a wifi problem with his iPod.
lizdance40 wrote:
You need to do an update on your router's firmware, or get a higher speed router..
Or replace the router and or modem. High demand can burn out a router in 2 years. Typical life is about 4-5 at most.
The new iPod is more advanced and if your router is slow or inconsistant signal your iPod will stop trying to connect to save your battery.
of course he dose have a wifi problwm. read the last line of the original post -
so my iphone 4 that is using ios5 keeps freezing when i want to dial, or receive call. i can use all my other apps but cant use the phone to call because the freezing problem. i know some people that are having the same problem too. what can i do?
I got the same problem. The percentage of getting this problem is around 10% of all my dial/receive calls.
The problem usually appears when I receive calls. The phone app will freeze, and I cannot dial or receive calls even I closed the phone app, however, most other apps work properly.
Once this problem happens, I will not be able to turn off the phone by holding sleep button, the only way I can get rid of it is holding sleep and home button at the same time to reset the iphone. -

I have a client that uses Windows that has recently told me she can no longer open the PDFs I send her. I can't find this elusive "Always Send Windows-Friendly Attachments" setting that I have read may solve my problem. Can someone get me there?
Dear Dan,
It was from InDesign that I was creating the shared pdfs. I was one of two Mac drivers in a corporate sea of Win users and had to make the change I mentioned in order for the Win users to see my pdfs for review. The difference from what you appear to be doing was that were all on an MS Exchange Server so the files were shared over the company's Exchange Server e-mail system. However, some of these files occasionally went to outside users via regular e-mail and those people had no issues either.
So what I did was tested and worked for years.
You might look at the Adobe forums or Knowledge Base to see if that is a reported issue with newer version of CS. I was on CS2 when I was doing this, and the other Mac driver was on CS3 but had no problems either.
Some Win users I've talked to find a problem opening some pdfs (not mine) in general and found they had to open Reader first and them open the file from Reader's File menu. That most often happened if the client was using an outdated version of Reader. -
how do I copy files onto a hard drive (device) from Mac 2 7 pc. I'm able to transfer files from device but cannot transfer files to device. Anyone had same problem or can help solve this problem? Help pls
Welcome to Apple Support Communities
When you try to copy data to the external drive, what happens? If you don't see any error, the external drive is formatted in NTFS, and OS X can't write in it.
To be able to write on this external drive, you have to use an app like Paragon NTFS. Another solution would be to format the external drive in FAT32 or exFAT with Disk Utility > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html Make sure you copied all the files of the external disk to the internal disk before doing it -
It is saying my voicemail is full and it isn't. I do not want to erase my messages, but I do not know how to fix this problem. Can someone help me?
heymare66 wrote:
The phone usually can hold 24 messages before the voicemail is full, but now I have only 21 and it's saying it's full.
I think your Voice mailbox goes by time, not # messages, so if one or two of the messages is longer, then it would be "full" faster.
Go to youmail.com and follow the directions to set up youmail.
Just curious - why do you need to save 20+ messages? Once I deal with them, I delete them.... and I rarely have more than one or two \saved messages.... -

System.exit(0);Some of the errors that I got while compiling your program were the following:
1) You need to declare your methods outside of your constructor
2) You are declaring sretval in a private method getData and passing it on to StringTokenizer. You should declare it as an instance variable cuz local variables won't go any farther than the method in which they were declared.
3) You did not implement WindowListener, ActionListener, ItemListener.
Some tips: Try to use adapters in an anonymous inner class to implement listeners such as WindowAdapter.
Use some white space between your code. It makes it a heck of a lot easier to read. Use indentation to show nested statements :)
Here is the fixed code.
