I went through the activation process yesterday and shut down my PC when I went to bed last evening. When I got up this morning and turned my PC on and then started Lightrom 6 (I upgraded from version 5) it started to launch but then just hung and became "not responsive". I I then uninstalled and then reinstalled the product today but the same thing happened. What is weird is that when I install from the standalone file I downloaded when I purchased the upgrade it looks like it's downloading the software again over the Internet? I have been having these problems for the last four or five days. I have contacted the chat support folks twice and they were able to get it working but whatever they did did not last as the problem reappeared again once the PC was shut down and then started up again.

I'm having similar issues attempting a download of the Adobe Photoshop Elements tryout, on a PC running Vista.
First it stopped during install of Shared Technologies and rolled back the entire installation. I thought this might be due to a quick neighborhood power outage during the installation, so I tried again, but the same thing happened. I read the Troubleshooting help (below) but I'm not quite techie enough to deal with log files. Tried again, attempting one thing it seemed to suggest - pointing the installation download directly to the C drive rather than a folder (?) - but no luck. Now there's no error message, but the Download Assistant Welcome screen comes back after half an hour of downloading and extracting, and doesn't seem to complete the installation. No desktop icon comes up; I can see some files on the C drive but nothing appears to be executable.
The installation of Photoshop Elements or Adobe Premiere Elements can fail with one of the following errors:
"The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Photoshop Elements could be installed. Below mentioned application has failed to install: Shared Technologies."
"The Adobe Premiere Elements installation wizard was interrupted while installing Shared Technologies."
"The installation process has encountered an error while installing Shared Technologies."
To resolve these issues, use the Adobe Support Advisor (ASA) to analyze the installation log file. For instructions, see Analyze install logs with Adobe Support Advisor (ASA).
Note: If you are using a downloaded installer, or running the installation from the hard drive, the Shared Technologies can fail because of the installation path. Copy the installation files to a folder to the root of the drive, such as C:\PSE<versionnumber>Installer\, and rerun the installation.
If the ASA tool is unable to provide you with a solution, see the "Analyze the Main Installation Log manually" section in Troubleshoot install using logs | Premiere Elements, Photoshop Elements.

I have tried all of the suggested solutions to get Shared Technologies to install successfully and it has failed every time. This is the 5-6th time I have attempted installing PSE 12 and it fails. I have rebooted without any startup items or non-MIcrosoft services (on a Win 7 x64 machine). I have shut off all backup softward, all virus software, installed a new admin account and tried from it, deleted OOBE files after renaming didn't help, uninstalled other Adobe software, killed all/any processes from adobe (or other obvious processes not related). I have spent extensive time working with Adobe chat support. I have deleted all folders from my machine that include anything PSE related and used a utility (ccleaner) to wipe and fix all registry and legacy file space. PSE has been installing - again - for over 35 minutes and is again on the "Installing required Shared Technologies" dialogue screen. The following is a snipit of the log file that contains the ONLY () reference to anything not working with the install:

Having problems installing photo elements 11 dvd; wanting to use website download

Just purchased photoshop elements 11 on disk. My computer dvd device has a fault so I can't install it. Is there a download on adobe website other than the trial download or is this what I should be using?

Yes, you can use the trial. Functionality is the same. It will just be missing some of the bonus content like templates and styles.

I am having problems install Photoshop elements 8.0 and premiere elements 8.0

I have recently received both photoshop elements 8.0 and premiere elements 8.0 and neither will install.
I have gone through (at length!) all the support suggestions e.g. adusting accelaration etc. Absolutley nothing works! I have spent over 4 hours trying to sort this problem which as it is a new product is extemely disappointing. I look for any helpful advice or should I just claim my money back?

I tried downloading the trial version which seems to have gone through. However although i can see lots of new files in a "Premier elements" folder in programs, I cannot see any way to open it. It has not appeared on the programs list and there is no shortcut on the desktop. How am I supposed to access this software?
If this is a trial, you really should make it more user friendly as I am not impressed at all so far.
I have spent over 6 housr now trying to get this sofware to work. If you cannot nwo get this to work, i will return to store and get refund (and use a version of Pinnacle recommended by a friend who has had no problems!

I am having problems with my Elements 12 program "freezing". I am not sure if it is an incompatibility with my operating system or my inexperience.

It has frozen once or twice during the uploading process. My bigger concern is when I am trying to follow tutorials and the program seems to freeze and does not execute the task. This has happened several times when I attempt to use the brushes or other tools. I am using a Mac Trackpad. I don't know if the problem is originating in this step, possibly, I am not using the trackpad correctly or if another problem exists. For instance, when I attempt to the brushes I get a "star" to paint my picture vs the round circle that the tutorials are showing.
I am using an older Mac computer; however, we did update the software prior to installing the Adobe Elements program.
Any guidance would be appreciated. I am also wondering if there are any Adobe Photoshop tutors available.

Having Problem Reinstalling Photoshop Elements 6.0.

When I was upgrading my computer to Windows 8, my friend recommended that I copy over all my files to a backup USB memory stick. When I did upgrade my computer to Windows 8, most of my files ended up being wiped off for some reason. I've managed to reinstall most of my files. However, I have no idea how to reinstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 from the files that are saved on my USB. Is there anyway that I can do this? I don't really want to have to buy a new version of Adobe Photoshop Elements as I only ever really use it for editing.

Unfortunately you need to have installation files to install the software on a different machine. There is no download available for Elements 6, so if you do not have a disc version then you won't have much choice but to upgrade to a new version.

The iBooks icon appears, but there is an empty bar below it, like the app hasn't loaded, or is paused.
I've restarted iPad, and everytime there are updates, iBooks is listed. But it never loads.

Instead of using Safari to use mail, try using the built in Mail app. To access your AOL account, go to Settings->Mail->AOL.

Here is an update for my antenna. The first antenna sent did not fit to connector, second did not fit either. So I checked with the Novatel site and found an adapter was needed. I got the part number, called Verizon, and they sent the adapter which allowed me to start trying the antenna's to see if they would help. They did, but not enough. I got a sleek from Amazon, it helped more especially when used with the antenna's Verizon sent and another adapter that let me use the antenna with the sleek (Amazon again).
Right now my access is very mixed. I can get it to work but it is spotty. I have tried using foil parabolic concentration devices I made using information and advice I got from:

The recent upgrade available on the admin of the mifi help some more.
That is about all I can presently offer as I am out of options that I know of and the result is spotty. I have forced the mifi to use only evdo so that it will be of enough speed to be of use. It often would jump to a slow speed which it would then stay on which made it almost unusable.

I'm having problems activating Photoshop Elements 12, with the internet. What can I do?

I've already installed the Adobe Photoshop Elements 12. I open the program, than I open the "Editor menu" and the the program ask me to sign in. I've already an Adobe Account, but the program tells me that I'm not connected to the internet, but I am. I'm using the browser and all works.

If yes, then this error normally appears when the VC++ runtime installation fails on the machine. Try downloading and installing the VC80 and VC90 runtimes from Microsoft website and see if their installation works fine on your machine? If no, then we have the root cause of the error and we can look more on the web on how to resolve it.

Is anyone else having problems using the Elements 9 Organizer?

I have upgraded from Elements 6 to Elements 9 and am finding glitches in the organizer and some of its functions. For example, to share my images online through Photoshop Showcase, I need to unstack them before making an album. If I do not unstack, all the images in the stack, regardless of how I select them, are included in the album. I stack my worked and edited images together with the original photo. When I use the display in 'import batch' view, I get several copies of my images in each import date of those that are also included in my stack, very frustrating. Often the stacks just keep on multiplying in the display using this sort of view. When I delete an image from a stack, the display jumps to another time and date and image on my organiser and I need to note and remember where I was working so that I can get back to the right spot again. I am less than happy with this and other obvious bugs in this version.

I too encountered difficulties with Stacks. The advantages were few, the disadvantages many, so I unstacked everything and have never never used it again.
