I'm having sync issues

I somehow downloaded new itunes instead of updating it. when i restarted my computer my library was blank any my playlists were gone. I was able to import the music from my hard drive back to the library but without the playlist folders. what is going to happen when i connect my nano and try to sync it? will it replace everything on my nano with what's on my hard drive or will the nano put the playlists back on my hard drive? i'm afraid to touch it now! someone please help!!

Did you move the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder?
File > Add folder to library and select the folder with music on the external.

  • AppleTV having sync issues

    Hi all,
I need to save/retrieve the media files I have on my ATV. Is there a way to keep the stuff I have on it? Before I restore to factory settings? I would appreciate any ideas.
    thanks

Thank You, for responding. I have been having sync issues. I also had to re-format my drive due to a directory issue with in OSX.4.11. Since then I was unable to retrieve and connect with the old library. It seems I have lost a fair amount of files, very depressing. I am not quite ready to give up though, I am going to seek other options before restoring my ATV.
    thanks again

  • Having sync issues? Answer provided.

This is such a simple solution to people who are having sync issues. It took me awhile to figure this out as I was having the same issue.
Under Android widgets there is a widget called "Power Control" enable this, and you will see a sync icon, enable this and your phone should sync properly.
I've looked everywhere in the settings for an auto-sync, and found nothing, it was in this widget to enable it. Go figure!

Thank you for posting this solution. This should be helpful to the users who are having the same issues you were having as well. Great Job!

  • Having sync issues with Outlook 2011 since upgrading to Mavericks

    Hi All,
My work Macbook Pro 13" is having issues syncing my inbox and sent mail automatically. It's a hit or miss if I recieve emails in my inbox in a timely mannor with out pressing the Send/Recive button (even when i press it takes minutes to update). My Sent Items can show up an hour later  even if I hit the Send/Recieve button.
All my mail is there and shows up/syncs on my iPhone quickly. I upgraded to Mavericks right when it came out and have only been having these sync issues for the last week or so.
I've cleared my mail cache and that didn't work. My calandar reminders and contacts don't seem to have any issues and no other apps have been preforming slow or strangely.... just my VERY important work email. My tech guys are stumped and I wanted to try you guys before they do a major rehaul of my system
    Thanks!

A new Outlook Identity will most likely solve your issues. If you have any data under "On My Computer" folders, see this link:
How to move your data to a new Identity
BTW, how much free space on your drive? Use Disk Utility in Applications/Utilities to find this info. You need a minimum of 10% free but 15-20% is recommended.
Outlook gets very sluggish when you are low on disk space. If you have a bunch of older Identities from previous rebuilds you can delete these to help free up space.

  • New iPod Touch owner having syncing issues

I just got a new 8GB touch. Everytime I try to sync it, iTunes freezes. I have installed the OS update 3.1.2, backed up my library and uninstalled then reinstalled iTunes. I'm currently resetting the entire device. If that doesn't work, what else can I try?

This is a syncing issue with having 5 authorized computers. My computer crashd ans is in the shop. When I tried to authorize my laptop to transfer my playlists (and everything else) from my touch, the only option I found was to deauthorize all my computers. I now cannot figure out how to get my music library from my Touch into my laptop I-Tunes account. Every options seeems to indicate that the material on my touoch woul;d be erased. I want everything from my Touch to replace what is on my laptop. I am sure I am missing something obvious, but need help.

  • Having trouble sync'ing. Receiving Overcapacity error on my 64GB iPhone 5. Backed up and restored but still having sync issues.

I have an iPHone 5 64GB with iTunes 11 installed on an 2 yr old HP laptop running Windows 7. I am having sync'ing issues. I am receiving an overcapacity error I have not seen before even though I can manually remove audiobooks I have previously loaded to get the overcapacity down below the available 64GB limit. I have removed most of them now and can get the sync to begin. Not sure if it will actually complete. But now I do not have but a relatively few audio books loaded. I have backed up and restored to see it that helps but am still getting the same overcapacity error. Seems whatever I had included was doubled in an "other" category. Also, in the recent upgrade to iTunes, it takes forever to sync when I change content. Sync'ing takes a lot longer than before. Has anyone else experienced similar performance issues.

Lawrence Finch has previously provided the following helpful info...
"Other" data is real data that you put on your phone by using the built in apps. It is not music, not videos, not pictures and not App Store app data. It is "OTHER" meaning everything that does not fall into these categories. Such as:
    email messages and attachments
    Reminders
    Calendar entries
    Contacts
Text messages   (*** this can take up a lot of space)
    MMS messages and attachments
    Genius data
    Music cover art
    Operating system settings
    Safari cache
    bookmarks
    Game Center status
    Music catalog
If you have a lot of text messages stored, that can make "Other" very large.  Another problem area is corrupted files.  When app and data files become corrupted, they may end up in "Other".  To fix that, perform a restore from a recent backup.  That prevents corrupt files from showing up.

  • I have been having syncing issues with icloud notes, contacts, and now icloud email. Does anyone have suggestions?

Just recently, I have been unable to receive icloud email on my iphone and new ipad3. Although, I am a loyal apple consumer, I feel a bit let down. I am a PhD student and used my ipad/icloud email for downloading  and reading PDF journal  articles. My goal is to eventally buy a MacBook Pro and eliminate some of the syncing issues with icloud by storing my documents on the hard drive. I hope this will give me some relief from all the trouble I have had with icloud. Please share your suggestions.

Right now, there is an iCloud blackout.  Most people are having issues syncing Notes, Calenders, and Contacts between devices, emails aren't being sent, and Find My iPhone isn't working.

  • Adobe Ideas having Sync issues

    Hello,
I'm running into sync issues with Adobe Ideas on my iPad. I see that others are running into something similar as well, but no concrete answer as of yet. I figured I would post to let you know, for the sake of being heard .
I've tried signing out and in of my adobe account, restarting the iPad, shutdown the app and iPad itself, etc. with no luck as of yet.
Also on a side note that when I turn off the Sync feature in the app itself, Adobe Ideas tends to crash.
Below you will find the version of app I have, as well as the iPad model and iOS version:
    Adobe Ideas version 2.8 (51557)
iPad Mini Retina (Model ME280C/A) Wifi Only
    iOS 7.1.1 (11D201)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks kindly,
    Adrian

    Hey Everyone,
Thought I would share this as I was just reading over the replies.
Have you heard of DiskAid ? It allows you to pull data from apps from your iOS device and transfer them to your computer and back. I was using this to tranfer my game saves of Terraria from my iPad mini to my iPhone and it worked great. I wonder if you can use this to pull the .idea file from Idea's and transfer it to your computer.
I haven't tried it to confirm, but it says you can transfer 'any' app data so it might be worth a shot. The basic license is free, while the premium is around $30. Check it out though, it may help .

  • IPod touch 5th generation 16 GB is having syncing issues

I have been encountering problem after problem with syncing music on my iPod touch. It's crazy how something that should be simple and quick, is now a pain in the *** to do. I'm trying to simply sync music from my iTunes library onto my iPod touch, and every now and then, for some weird off-the-wall reason, it gets stuck on this "waiting for changes to be applied". Now I've seen other people on here who have encountered the same issue and they're getting like 6 to a dozen step answers that all involve ERASING or RESTORING your entire data JUST to get rid of such a dumb issue like that. Well, sure enough, I did that (or have done it. At least 5 times now to be exact)! And it always seems to fix the issue TEMPORARILY. It'll sync just fine for 3 to 4 weeks just fine after those weeks are up (oh here we go with this **** again) I have to go through the process of restoring my entire iPod and setting the factory settings up all over again. Then it'll sync again. For about 4 weeks, of course. Oh, but now, yippee!!! Another issue!!! Now that the same "waiting for changes to bs" popped up, I did the same thing. Restore the iPod, set up the factory settings, select my last backup. Oh, but now, NOW I hook the iPod up to my computer to sync and it says that it doesn't have enough free space to sync the SAME **** THINGS THAT IT'S BEEN SYNCING FOR THE LAST 5 TIMES THAT I HAVE WENT THROUGH THIS PROCESS!! I had around 1650 songs, PLUS four apps and it synced those and still had EXTRA store of about 200 MB or so left. But now all of a sudden it tells me "You need 500 MB (I don't remember the exact amount) of free space to sync". OH REALLY?! So basically it needs extra space to sync the same thing it's been syncing just fine for the last five times I've done this?! Whatever. FINE. So I remove the 3 big apps out of the 5 and now, OH NOW, ANOTHER PROBLEM!!! Now, I delete those 3 apps, and it tells me I need 700 MB or so in order to sync!!! Remember when it said it need 500 MB in order to sync like I said above? Yeah. So basically, it's going backwards. Now, I delete all 5 of the apps along with about 15 songs: and can you guess what it does? NOW IT TELLS ME I NEED 950 MB IN ORDER TO SYNC!!! THE MORE ITUNES DATA I DELETE TO GIVE IT SPACE TO SYNC, THE MORE SPACE IT NEEDS IN ORDER FOR IT TO SYNC!!! JUST WHAT IN THE BLUEST OF BLUE HELLS IS GOING ON WITH THIS ITUNES??? It's just PROBLEM, after PROBLEM, after PROBLEM, after PROBLEM ever since I've used iTunes. And really all I want to do is sync some music onto my iPod. Why does that have to be such a pain in the ***??? Any advice would be awesome, especially if you're experiencing the very same issue as me; which I highly doubt because it's been a pain in order to find anyone on this site with this issue. Appreciate it.

    Assuming Windows, have you tried:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
You say you have iOS 7.0.6. If that is try update to the latest, 7.1.1

  • We are having sync issues when trying to use separate user accounts and Apple ID's on the same iMac. What can we do?

My wife and I share an iMac and we each sync to it using separate user accounts and separate Apple IDs. She has an iPad 2 and I have an iPhone 4. We upgraded the mac to Lion and the iphone to OS 5. Now itunes only recognizes my apple id no matter which user is logged in. Now if I download the Home Depot app to my phone it automatically gets pushed to my wife's iPad, which she does not want. We want to keep things separate. How can we do this?

You can sync devices with the same iCloud ID, not seperate ones.
If she has a different login on your Mac, make sure she has her own ID defined in System Prefs > iCloud

  • Having Sync Issues with new Apple ID

I was on an apple account with my wife.  We're splitting up so I made myself a new Apple ID, installed iTunes on my home computer and logged into it with my new ID and that looks good.
My phone is full of stuff from her account.  When I first plugged it into my iTunes it warned me about erasing the phone.  I was scared to do so at that point, so I clicked not to do it.
Now I would like to do it, but when I plug in my phone and sync it simply syncs the contacts and nothing happens with the Apps.  I can't get it to prompt me to erase the phone again.
In my attempts to fix this I went into iTunes and downloaded a new app.  I also went into my phone and changed the iTunes account to my new one.
Now when I try to sync it says this computer is not authorized and I should go to Store -> Authorize.  I do that, log in with my Apple ID and it says this computer is already authorized.  I then try to sync and it tells me to authorize again.  I just bounce back and forth between the two and never get anywhere.
What I want is to have everything use my new account.  I don't want any associations to the original account.  I want iTunes to erase my phone and start using the iTunes library I have on my home computer, where I will redownload all the apps I want to have on the phone.  How can I accomplish this?

Go to settings > iMessage > receive at.  And you will see the Apple ID you are using for iMessage.  Tap on the ID and you will be prompted to sign out. Tap sign out and toggle iMessage Off. The do the same for FaceTime, meaning go to settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID and sign out. Then toggle FaceTime off.
To toggle both iMessage and FaceTime back on and sign in with your new Apple ID.  It may take a few minutes for the ID to be verified by the Apple servers but once it is verified, you are good to go.

  • I have an iPhone 5 and after changing email addresses am having syncing issues with Outlook.

My calendar syncs from my computer to my iPhone but not from my iPhone to my computer.  It used to sync both directions.  I'm guessing the same is true of contacts.  I've gone through all the tabs in iTunes.  The calendars are checked properly but I can't find anywhere to say update information on computer using information of the iPhone.  I fell like that used to be an option.  I've tried restarting everything to no avail.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

And I forgot to mention I have just changed email addresses so with the old email it was all working then with the new email I'm only functioning one direction.

  • I bought a new iPhone 5C today but I'm having syncing issues.

I synced it with my computer and restored it with my old iPhone's stuff, but the iPhone 5C won't restore. It keeps going back to the setup screen but my computer shows that everything is up to date - all the apps I need are there, I can see it all on iTunes but the phone itself will keeps acting like its brand new ...  ie I can't use it! HELP

Try backing up your old phone on your iTunes one more time.
Go into settings in your iPhone 5C and delete everything then immediately connect it to iTunes.
From there, I believe there should be a pop up to where you can backup everything from your old iPhone on to your new.
    Goodluck!

  • New computer/New Itunes having sync issues

I got a new computer and a new itunes acct.  It trys to access old email from original setup and new email from new itunes acct.  I cannot sync this without loosing everything.  It won't let me set up and iCloud acct either because its trying old account.
    ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT

everything purchased to old account belongs to old account only. See iTunes Terms of Service.
As far as icloud, you just need to deleted old and sign into new.

  • ITunes sync issues with Windows 7 64k Bit

I am beyond frustrated! I have attempted for the past 3 days straight to figure out why iTunes keeps having syncing issues with all my devices- Nano 8GB, Touch 8GB, iPhone 3G 8GB. When I first connected the devices for the first time iTunes froze up and I had to hard boot. I then had to "restore" the devices as they were messed up. Since then I have had syncing issues. It says it is syncing but then it stops and freezes before it is finished and is unresponsive requiring me to end the program. Then my computer does not recognize the iPod is connected so I have to reboot my computer and it all starts over again. I'm not trying to sync a million song, 600 songs less than 2Gig.
Called Apple, they had me uninstall iTunes 9 and reload it. That did not fix the problem. Called back and they told me to go to the Apple store and have them check my devices (they did not as they said they were pretty sure it was not iTunes or my devices) that it was probably Windows 7. MS points the finger at iTunes 9, Apple points the finger at Windows 7... all the while me (the customer) has no resolution. I don't care what the issue is... I would just like to figure out how to fix it (if it's my computer fine...I'll take it in to have it fixed) but I just cant get anyone to help figure out what/where the issue is.
I have tried many of the "tricks" that are posted when you google the issue.. ie reinstall drivers etc. The "Genius" at the Apple store searchd and found something that said it might be my motherboard needing an updated driver (I updated that and nothing changed).
Would REALLY appreciate it if someone could help
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Does your PC have a NVIDIA USB Enhanced Host Controller Interface (EHCI) chipset?
If it does, you may want to try the Microsoft hotfix available here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976972.
