Using a Cisco router with Network Magic Interface....it doesn't see the Mac Book but the Mac sees the network.
Can you see the network in the Mac's wireless network list?

  • Having trouble connecting to my wireless network

Hi everyone, my iPad gen 3 can not connect to my wireless network. I have to unplug my router, and repower for it to connect. Even going into settings on the iPad, and putting in the password for the wireless connection, the iPad gives me an error message that the password is incorrect. I was thinking of updating to a new router. My current router is about 3 years old. I am also running Network Magic from Cisco. Can anyone give me any ideas for a solution to this problem? As always, thank you for your help.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

  • MacBook 10.6.7. is having trouble connecting to my wireless network.

    Hi all~
I am basically having trouble with my wireless connection. I know I have  a functioning connection because my girlfriend is able to connect and surf just fine. However, I try to log on and get the usual error messages. I've tried the network diagnostic and the setup assistant to no avail. They tell me to contact my ISP, but my ISP can't find a problem. Any advice out there? Has my airport gone crazy....is this a hardware issue??

  • 3510 all in one having trouble connecting to new wireless network

Ok - just to update, at least the drivers are downloadable now ... I'll see if that resolves my issue.

Hi guys.  I just switched to a new modem through my ISP (Rogers) that has a built in router and a much faster connection.  (Previously, this 3510 printer was working just fine over my network with a modem and a router that was separate.)  My computer is hooked into the internet via a direct cable and everyone else in the household connects via wireless, which has been set up and works well.  For some reason though, my 3510 refuses to play nice with the modem and connect to the network.   I've tried plugging it in via usb cable, then going into the settings and clicking on the "convert a usb connected printer to wireless" option.  I hit "yes, access the computer or router", then next, it finds my wireless network with no trouble and I type in the required password and "next" - it then takes a while to go through it's "setting up printer on network" .... and then after a while, I get a "MAC address filtering may be enabled on your wireless router" error.  There IS no MAC filtering.  I have "allow all" set on the router.  This shouldn't be an issue.   Has anyone else had this problem?  Is it just a thing with the newer modem/router combos and these older HP printers?  I tried to update the driver, but your website doesn't seem to be letting folks do that at the moment (some error you're fixing, it says?). If you have any suggestions on how I could get past this problem, I'd really appreciate it.  It's driving me NUTS.  Thanks!  All the best, -- Jodi

  • Does anyone have trouble connecting to their wireless network, after being logged on for some time? Mountain Lion.

I am having trouble connecting to my wireless network.  It works when I startup my computer but, after a while it can't seem to find the wireless network. I have an Airport Extreme and the light is green. The only way to remedy this problem is to restart my computer. Mountain Lion isn't that great after all not to mention it distorts some images when scrolling. I am kindly asking for some advice, I assume a major update will be coming soon.

You don't by chance have a "invisible" or "hidden" network enabled on the router?
Because Mac's won't reconnect automatically now to hidden network only upon reboots, it's sort of like advertising the hidden network if you take the computer elsewhere.
Also hidden networks are no deterrent to hackers, they see all.
Also check your time and date, make sure they accurate first, then save that, then make sure it's updated via Apple time servers in your general location (System Preferences > Time and Date) If your being kicked off, your DCHP lease might be expiring too early.

  • I am having trouble connecting to my wireless internet. I keep getting message that my network configuration settings have changed. Ive been advised that i need to change settings to look for dynamic ip address ?

I am having trouble connecting to my wireless internet and am getting the message that my network configuration settings have changed. I have reported it to my provider who advised that they think the Mac is looking for a fixed IP address and they use dynamic addresses. I have had the Mac for months and have not had this problem before. I would appreciate any help please on how to fix this ?

Then I get a separate pop up that says: Secure Connection Failed. aus3.mozilla:443 uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is only valid for the following names: securelogin.arubanetworks.com, www.securelogin.arubanetworks.com
    (Error code: ssl_error_cert_domain)
This could be a problem with the server's configuration or it could be someone trying to impersonate the server.
If you have connected to this server successfully in the past the error may be temporary and you can try again later.
I have tried many many times!

  • Having Trouble Connecting to new wireless router...

My family just purchased a wireless router. It is a D-Link. Previous to this, I had always used an ethernet cord to get online as I am right now. The router is all set up and I was using the wireless end of it for awhile with no problem until my dad secured it and added a password. I wrote down this password and have been trying to reaccess the wireless internet and it just keeps telling me that the password is incorrect when I know its not because I'm sitting here looking at it on our dells computer screen.
I didn't know if there was something that I needed to do to my macbook that i havent since I have always used an ethernet cable...but I don't know what that would be since I have been to other individuals houses and linked up to their wireless glitch free. The router came with a cd. I opened this cd on my macbook, and the contents of it weren't even compatable with my mac, other than the manual which was not helpful either.
This router is SUSPOSE to be for Mac users, and it worked before the password was set so I am just at a loss.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Jacquie,
First: are you sure you've selected the right security protocol when OS X asks you for the network password? There's a dropdown menu with options such as "WEP, WPA," etc. You'll need to select the right one for your network. If you pick the wrong one and enter the password correctly, you will still get a "bad password" error.
Second: Are you sure your router is not MAC-locked? This has nothing to do with Macintosh computers. a MAC address is something every wireless card in every PC has. It's a unique address that is assigned to your computer. If your router is MAC-locked, that means it's set to ONLY allow certain addresses to connect. You'll need to disable the MAC-lock or enter your MAC-address into the "approved" list in the router's settings page.
Third: The problem is NOT your Mac. As you said, it's worked just fine on other wireless networks. The problem lies absolutely, completely, without question in the router settings. Try the two things above and see if that solves it. If not, come back and we'll keep going.

I am trying to connect a new Mac with OSX 10.9.5 to an HP Photosmart Premium c410, which is on an existing home wireless network and functions properly with other (Windows) computers in the house. I am following online instructions to enter the Apple System Preferences>Printers and Scanners>+ menu in order to add the printer, but the printer is not visible. If I use the "print sheet," the HP printer shows as a grayed out option and a message that the printer has been offline for more than a month. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Macbook Air has trouble connecting immediately with wireless network

My Macbook Air seems takes a while to find the wireless network (but it does eventually find it). I get several "No Internet Connection" dialogue error boxes before the computer finally finds the network. How do I get rid of this and why is it doing it? My MacPro works just fine finding the wireless network.

From your signature it seems you didn't upgrade to Snow Leopard. If not, that could solve your problem. I had exactly the same issue under Leopard, but upgrading to Snow Leopard solved it completely.

  • C4380 trouble connecting to new wireless network

    Hi there,
I've just moved house, and my printer doesn't want to connect to the new wireless router.
I've restored the network defaults, plugged, unplugged everything, re-run the setup on both MacBook and Toshiba laptop, and I don't get past the first page of wireless network configuration.
The HP Installer finds my printer via usb cable, and I've ben trying to set up the wireless network via this link. My network name and password are all the, and then it says "Device not connected", asks me to connect via usb, and will not recognise that the usb cable is plugged in at all. So I'm stuck at this bit of the set up.
    My diagnostics summary. Fail.
    Radio on. Pass.
    Radio working. Pass.
Ethernet cable not plugged in. Pass.
    Network name found. Fail
MAC address displayed, everything else not applicable or not run.
The printer was previously connected to a d-link router, set up via my MacBook. The new wireless router is a TC7200.U but I don't know anything about it.
    Can anyone help?
    Thank you.

Let's try this.  Make and model of router?  Set a static IP in the printer outside the DHCP range of the router.  Remove all security on the router temporarily.    Change SSID to TEST.  Now connect to your new SSID TEST with no security.   R U successful?  If yes, go back and change your SSID to what you want and try to connect to that SSID.  If successful go back and add your WPA2-AES security and try to connect again.

Hi Duane. Thank you for responding so quickly. On Wednesday I bought a Mac Mini from our new Apple Store here in UK. It was dead-on-arrival. Took it back and decided to go for the imac to avoid any further frustration and go completely mac.
It is definitely looking at my network. If I turn the router off it disappears from the drop down menu at top of screen. It reappears when I plug the router back on. So it is recognising that the network exists. When I try through System Preferences, Network, it lists my network - when clicked there is no signal level.
I get 'There wan error joining the AirPort network etc'.
When I try through Assistance I get message 'Enter AirPort information .........stating my network requires password etc.

    Hi,
If you already installed teh Full Feature HP Software temporary connect the printer using USB, go to Applications > Hewlett-Packard > Device Utilities and follow the HP Setup Assistant, you will be provided with an option to connect the printer to your network.
If there is no Hewlett-Packard folder under applications connect the printer using USB, download and install the software below. be sure to select HP REcommended Software and you will be provided with the option to configure the wireless connection during the installation:

  • Having trouble connecting Macbook to wireless FIOS

I tried looking online and can't seem to find an answer that will fit my situation.  I don't have a Pro.  We recently got FIOS installed and have the Actiontech router.  I am able to connect other devices and computers to the wireless signal, but can't get my mac to work correctly.  It will recognize the router signal and say it is connected, but I can't get it to bring up the internet once it is connected.  Any help would be appreciated.

I went in and changed the password to WPA as that is better and there were several people saying that should help it, of course after I posted this earlier today.  It still doesn't seem to want to work.  Any thoughts?
yeah, Mac computers like WPA much better. So if your router is set with WPA and your still having an issue. Then it must be something else.
Do you have other Wireless devices that work? If so, then it is something on the computer itself.
If not, then try removing the wireless security (turn the wep/wpa off) and see if you can connect that way. If so, then it has something to do with the security on the wireless.
If still having issues at this point, and you have no other wireless, then I would suspect the router. (try rebooting and resetting the router, always a good idea to try this) Then if still havng an issue, I'd see if I couldnt get Verizon to replace the router.
