  • I'm having trouble downloading the firmware update through iTunes...

For three days I've been trying to get iTunes to download the update. I get anywhere from 10% to 80% of the file downloaded, then get a time-out error. When I resume the download, it starts over from the beginning. I must have downloaded the first 100 MB 20 times now.
My internet connection is strong and stable, but I have not been able to get this download through iTunes.
Is there a direct download available somewhere? Is there a way to have iTunes save a partial download and continue where it left off?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Uofmichchick,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
    Best of luck,

  • When downloading Iphone software update (version 4.0), I get error message

When downloading Iphone software update (version 4.0), I get error message (stopped err = -3259). Is there a solution for this???

    Did anyone solve this?
I'm still having this issue. I also had the same issue when trying to download a large update for an app (43MB). I can download and install smaller udpates but I can't even download the large updates. I've checked all of my firewall settings and they are fine. I've turned off the firewall when trying to download the update and it still does not work. It just keeps saying that my network connection timed out.
I'm not at the stage where I can't install new apps because it requires the latest OS version on my iphone which I can't get!

  • Always have issues downloading iPhone software updates

I have ongoing issues downloading iPhone software, I've been trying for weeks to get the latest update. It will begin to download and get relatively close then time out, my internet connection disconnects and I get an error message in iTunes that the network connection is gone or something to that effect.
    Any suggestions?

What kind of Internet connection do you have? One thing I have done just to make sure nothing happens to the iPhone when I'm updating is when it asks about updating, I tell it to just download the update, not download and update. That way if the download fails, it doesn't affect the iPhone. Sometimes as Internet traffic gets heavy it can affect the downloading. Slow connections can also affect this.

  • I am having trouble downloading a purchased movie from ITunes Help

I am having trouble downloading a purchased movie from I tunes It keeps telling me there is an error and to tap and try again but all fails Help

I agree. I don't rely on iCloud as a backup, that is what I have my portable hard drive for. Its 500 GB so I can hold my entire iTunes library several times over on it. I have all my movies on my hard drive, but somehow "The Mist" got deleted off of my hard drive, so I figured "Well, the option to redownload an already purchased movie is available through iCloud, I'll just do that!"
And permissions and download availability have nothing to do with it, the movie's still there, it still allows me to redownload it. The only problem is when I click download, I get that message.
And nobody else uses my computer, but I do have multiple accounts authorized on it. Even still though, I am attepmpting to download it through the account I purchased it under. :/

And....that's your question? How to restore the apps? Sync your iPad with iTunes and the apps should be restored to your device. Or go to the purchased tab of the App Store and tap on Not on this iPad and download them again.
Did you restore from a backup after you updated? Can you provide any information at all?

  • I download latest software update for itunes and iphone. they successfully download, but then a message comes up saying unable to install as file has been corrupted. what is the cause?

I download latest updates for itunes and my iphone, when it comes to installing, it successfully downloads, but then i get a message for iphone software error=1403 file corrupted, and for itunes it downloads, then when i try to install it a message says unable to install software, file maybe corrupted!!

The iTunes update must be downloaded and installed before you try and use it to update the iPhone OS
Download iTunes 10.2.2 from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1103
When it completes it will auto mount the disc image and show you the package installer, don't try and do anything with the file until it gets to this stage.
Once that's installed reboot the Mac, run iTunes, connect your iPhone and let it sync, then hit the update button and let it complete that step by itself (which will require a restart of the iPhone)

  • Whenever I try to restore my iPod Touch, it starts to download a software update, even after I have downloaded the software update several times before. How do I restore my iPod without having to download the software update again and again?

It's sort of like a "catch 22"; it seems like my iPod won't restore because the software update won't install, but the software update won't install because my iPod won't restore.

  • IMac unable to restart after downloading latest software update (including iTunes 11.2)

My system is a mid-2007 iMac (Intel) with latest software updates always promptly installed (OSX Mavericks, etc) and 320 GB internal HD, 4GB Ram.
Today the software updater informed me that an update to iTunes was available and so I allowed it to download the update and then restart the computer. The restart was not successful - the computer display will show the status window progressing as the update is installed and then nears completion, but will freeze at the apparant point of completion and the restart will not complete. I tried restarting several times and it always hangs up and does not complete.
I then ran the Disc Utilities program - first time I ran it, it identified disc problems with the internal HD  and proceeded to repair them. Following that I trried to restartt and it ran into the same difficulties and did not restart. Subsequently I ran disc utilities and it reports the internal HD to be fine. I've also tried several times to boot the computer and restore from my Time Machine backups and it will not complete the restore. I do get to the screens where I can select the volume to restore from, the volume to restore to, and so forth. After these efforts were not successful, I finally tried to re-download OSX and do a clean system restore, it progressed nearly to completion and then aborted the system installation without completing.
Since having this problem I've therefore been unable to use the computer in Mac mode. I had just about concluded that my hard disc must be replaced, when I decided to see if I could restart running Windows (bootcamp), and I was able to do that successfully. The hard disc is therefore not damaged, or at least the partition of the hard disc used by Windows is not damaged.
Is my most likely option to replace the hard disc or is there something I can still do, in order to see if the hard disc can be restored using a saved backup, before I replace it?
I have the further complication of finding that the Apple store will not replace the hard disc for my computer because it is over 5 years old. I can probably locate a shop such as Best Buy locally who can do that, or I can simply purchase an external hard disc and use that as my primary hard disc until I either replace the internal hard disc or simply replace the computer. Since it is a 7 year old iMac, it would not be surprising to have to replace the hard disc after this length of time. I also see that there are instructions available online to explain how to replace the internal hard disc myself, but I'm unsure at this point whether or not I want to do it myself.

Lacking any responses to my initial post above, I will briefly update how I resolved this issue today.
Installed new external hard disc, 1 TB WD My Passport for Mac, and straightforward setup involving first installing current OS X operating system, then system migrator utility to rebuild the same setup as saved in latest Time Machine backup. The whole process was somewhat time consuming due to my internet connection speed and USB data transfer speeds but it went without any issues. The computer now boots up and operates identical in all respects to how it did before the problem occurred.
Regarding the internal HD of my iMac, if I now run Disc Utility to verify the disc, it reports "appears to be OK". However, viewing the disc usage in "About This Mac" window, it displays as entirely empty. Opening it in the finder also shows only a "Apple Hot News.mbox" file and a single .jpeg image, and .nothing else.
Interestingly, the Bootcamp partition of my iMac's internal HD continues to work fine and appears unaffected by the problem. I use bootcamp rarely but still will plan to set up a replacement bootcamp volume on the new hard disc soon, in order to take its place.
That the problem surfaced coincident with the software update may have been nothing more than bad luck? At this point I have no reason to suspect that the softward update had anything to do with the difficulties.

  • How do you download ios software update without itunes?

The iTunes I use to update my iPod Touch is on a Windows 7 desktop computer. I tried to download the latest update but the internet is to slow to complete it. I was wondering if I could take my notebook and download the update on it while connected to a faster internet connection and transfer it to the iTunes on my Windows 7. Where can I download it and how can I put it on my other computer?

  • Having trouble downloading the new version of itunes on Macbook, can you help me?

    Hi,
I bought my computer MacBook about six years ago. I am trying to download the new version of itunes. It downloads to my computer, but then asks me for my name and installer password. The options to get that password back is to install the initial disk of the computer, which I do not have anymore or restart the computer doing some sort of steps. I am clueless when it comes to computers, so if anyone can help me that would be awsome!
My computer has been running fine these past years and I would hate for the answer to be that I have to replace my MacBook for another Mac....

  • Having trouble downloading 10.5.0.142 itunes version, Having trouble downloading 10.5.0.142 itunes version

As usual - I am not able to download the latest version of iTunes (10.5.0.142) for Windows XP.  It gets to the same stop point where it says "there is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.".
Anyone know a workaround for this.  I go through this whenever I decide to actually download a new version (which is not very often b/c of this ongoing proble.!).
Thank you in advance for anyone that could help me with this matter at hand!!!

My analyze was wrong: If you use a NAS to store your iTunes database, when you try to retrieve information from an mp3 file, it’s normal that you generate some activity onto your NAS. If during this activity and exactly at the same time you have a defective disk, you can see that your NAS reboot and can imagine that the responsible of this reboot is iTunes and not the defective disk.
In fact, I changed the NAS disk, rebuild RAID 5 protection, and after I can see that iTunes run without problem.
