I'm having trouble installing firefox 5 on my laptop. The installation file isn't working!!

every time run the installation file it starts extracting and after that the program exits without installing firefox.

Please send me an update when this is fixed! I would like to use the browser as I'm fed up with IE, but I can't even FIND the files after they "extract". I'm a VERY good 'end user', and can usually find just about anything, but I'm at a loss.

    Choose Download & Recording from the left-hand menu
    Uncheck "Enable Web Download & Recording for these installed browser"
    Click OK

there are two files for win os, an 7z and an exe.
download both, place both in the same directory and click (or double click) the exe.

If you have a serial number, you simply need to enter it into the proper fields.
Since you don't say what version of Lightroom, and what sections are "blocked off", let me guess that you have Lightroom CC, and you need to enter the serial number to turn it into Lightroom 6. And if that's not the right assumption, then please give us the details.

YES many thousands will have that sort of symptom. Not surprising with a user base approaching 1/2 Billion Firefox users.
As for your own problem try these suggestions in this order and checking after each step.

No, you aren't. The serial number for the PSE 8 download will not work with the boxed version and vice versa. This only changed with PSE 9, but in all previous versions, if you have a disc, you need the disc for your serial number to work. Also, there is no download link available if you didn't buy the download in the first place.

Firefox cannot be found inside the Program Files (x86) when using the shortcut or the actual .exe. I also tried using Regedit.exe and firefox was not there. How do I fix this?

After I get the error message "Windows cannot find C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." I proceeded to use the Regedit solution but the file was not inside the Image File Executable Options folder. The only file inside of there was iexplorer.exe.

#Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/?ref=logo Download Firefox 4.0.1] and download the installation file to your desktop. You can use Safari to do that, but don't choose to run it. 
#Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to "Mozilla Firefox" and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (''don't checkmark the box''). If you don't see it anywhere, then it's not installed. 
#Assuming it is though, reboot and delete the folder called "Mozilla Firefox" at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 
#Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier. 
Your bookmarks, customizations etc., are maintained in a different location and will become available to you again once you complete the installation.

Thanks for your email. I was able to download and install this morning without any problems. I uninstalled the old version yesterday and restarted my computer but still got errors. However when I turned off last night, windows ran updates and that must of fixed the problem. I also got rid of firefox and put of google chrome. All to use Australia Posts click and send which wouldn't work because of an error with the plugin. Thanks for your very quick reply, I appreciate your help. Have a great day.
