I'm having trouble recording a bass to go along with a recording I dropped into GB. I'm using an interface and I can hear the bass line, I've clicked on the 'record' button, but the sound does not record. What am I missing?

Double check all your audio settings.
System Preferences --> Sound --> Input should be set to your audio interface.
GB --> Preferences --> Audio/MIDI --> Input should be set to your audio interface.
With your track selected, open the Track Info pane, and select the Edit tab. Under input make sure that Mono 1 or 2 is selected (which number will depend on which input you plugged your bass cable into).

Had to restore my Mac Book with Snow Leopard. My i Life disc appears to be damaged, and I can't restore my iPhoto application. I have searched for downloads but all appear to be upgrades. Any ideas on how to restore iphotos
Given what you describe you will have to upgrade Snow Leopard by downloading and installing Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1. Then go to the App Store and sign in with your Apple ID. Purchase and download Mountain Lion to upgrade your OS. Then purchase the latest upgrades for the iLife applications which includes iPhoto.
Or you can go on eBay, Google, or Amazon and purchase another copy of the DVD based iLife. -
plz help !!!! i have iphone 3g and i tried option to reset my phone to factory shiped settings ..... but now it does not start even .. it just shows apple logo again n again ..... after that i went to recovery mode as stated by apple support and did things as stated .... but then i got the message iphone cannot be restored due to some eror 1015.....can any one please help me .. i will be highly obliged ...
First try a Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the Steps in this article to force the device into Recovery Mode.

I downloaded a book on my Ipad and after syncing to my PC, it was dropped from the Ipad, but shows up on my PC? I have it "checked" to be synced but it will not come back onto my Ipad. This is also after I downloaded IOS 5.1 for the Ipad. Does anyone know why it would be dropped from the Ipad?
Sometimes simply restarting your iTunes, the computer and the iPad is all that it takes to correct an issue like this so try that. Quit iTunes, reboot your computer, and restart the iPad. Then try the sync again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. -
Devices/Printers tile does not appear, what am I missing??
This is a Windows Server 2012 R2 Remote Desktop Host environment.
Devices and Printers tile created and placed underneath 'Desktop'
Configured a custom Start menu using the XML file method and setting its location in Group Policy, I can see 'Devices and Printers' in the XML file.
Set polcies to allow access to Control Panel and to show ONLY Devices and Printers.
Did gpupdate /force on the DC and on the RDS host wherein I'm testing, logged in as a test user.
The D and P tile is still not showing on Start screen nor does it show in Apps list...
D and P can be found with Search but that is clunky...
What am I missing to make this tile visible to users?? (I even tried re-creating the test user)

I did a test and it seems that we can't deploy the tile of Devices and Printers via group policy setting
Start Screen Layout. The reason behind this may be due to the fact that the AppID of the Devices and Printers in the exported start layout file is not a set one. We can compare the AppIDs of the Devices and Printers after exporting
the screen layout files with two different user accounts.

Ok, I used to be able to open links up in a new Tab using my middle mouse button. However, I updated firefox with the automatic Updates on the 26th of October and now I no longer can open links with my middle mouse button. Why? Welcome to the HP Forums!
As your microphone is not working with Skype, you should first follow through the steps in the document Resolving Microphone and Line-in Problems (Windows 7). This will make sure that the hardware is working properly.
If the hardware is working, and you are able to use the mic in a different program, the issue is most likely with Skype. I have also included a link to How do I adjust the sound settings on my computer and in Skype for Windows 7?.
Please let me know the outcome of the troubleshooting steps.

Sign out of iMessage on the Mac:
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
Sign out on the iPhone
Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out
Then, on the phone, tap
Use Your Apple ID for iMessage
Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test. If there's no change, you may have to wait for a change in network conditions.

The light on the front of my apple tv is flashing rapidly and it won't send a signal to the TV. The book says it is having trouble but does not say what it is or how to fix it. My daughter was watching it last night and I think she turned the tv off without putting it to sleep. Any suggestions?
Sorry the news here is not good. If the light just stays flashing then it is not able to succesfully startup the most basic part of the software. The only option at this point is to find a USB cable that will let you plug ATV into a computer with iTunes and do a full restore of the system firmware.

Recently, I can't get any sound from my game applications. Sound works fine with video, streaming, etc, but not my game applications. I've tried powering down and re-booting, but the sound does not return. Can anyone help me?
Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via control centre : swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and it's the right-most of the 5 icons in the middle of it (if the icon is white then it's 'on', tap it to turn it grey and 'off').
