I'm having trouble updating my iPod Itunes says to me that i'm not connected. Does Anyone know something to fix this problem???

If you are using IOS 4, you need to connect to iTune (computer) to update software.

Having trouble with updated iTunes - iPod Nano 1st Gen.

My iPod Nano [1st Generation] won't update or anything with iTunes 7.0!!! It worked with iTunes 6, but I downloaded 7 and it messed up my iPod - I tried deleting iTunes 7 and redownloading 6, but when I finished doing that, and I tried to get 6 to load, a window popped up that said "'iTunes Library.itl' cannot load because it was created on an updated version of iTunes" or something along that line. So now my songs are completely gone, I have NOTHING on my iPod because I had to delete iTunes 7... WHAT DO I DO!?!?!?!?!?!

Cannot update 5G iPod setting after 1.2 update...

Has anyone else run into this problem. I updated to iTunes 7 today along with the 1.2 update for my 5G iPod. I am running Mac OS X.
After the update, my video playlists were removed from the iPod. Checking the iPod setting showed that the video playlist were no longer checked to auto sync. The problem is my iPod will not stay connected long enough for me to update this option. The iPod is recognized when I connect for once iTunes realizes the songs are up to date, the iPod disconnects. If I check to sync the video playlist and apply, an error message will appear saying that the iPod could not be found.
Any ideas or anyone else have this?

Ok well, i'm having a problem updating my ipod. Are you saying i should not even attempt to update and be glad for the block? I keep getting error messages.
But i totally agree with you. I'm frustrated. I can't add songs to my ipod and itunes won't even recognize the ipod. I've tried reverting to v6 and tried restoring as well. Always ending up with ERROR. Apple should have tested every version on every OS system. How long could that take??? 2 weeks with as many ppl working as they do. If i asked alll the ppl who had trouble with this new version if they could wait 2 weeks for a perfected version, what would they say?? THEY WOULD SAY FREAKING YES!
I would also agree that for close to $500CDN for an ipod... it should definitely last longer than a year. I'd say at least 3 or 4.
And if it does come to the end [ipod dying] i won't buy another. I think i will go back to the retro days of bought and burned cds on my trusty sony cd player.

Updating my iPod touch 4th gen to iOS5 - I'm having trouble with syncing in general.

I first synced my iPod touch to my old computer on iTunes, and then I got my laptop and I downloaded iTunes, plugged in my iPod, and use it to download music. But the old computer broke, and we got a new one, with a different hardrive and everything. I didn't mind, because I was content with just using iTunes on my laptop for searching for and downloading music. The iOS 5 update came out, and at first I wasn't bothered, but now it seems to be hindering the performance of iTunes in general, as I can't download music off my computer - it keeps coming up with Error 13019.
I looked on tons of support forums, and they all mentioned syncing music and apps. I didn't think that would be a problem, but whenever I tick the box saying 'sync music', the memory bar goes RIGHT DOWN, as if it's deleting all the songs I got off CDs, which I don't want, and whenever I tick the box saying 'sync apps', it comes up with all the apps I had a few months ago, missing out all of the apps I have now, which would no doubt delete my progress on them.
I've even tried just clicking 'sync' on the main device page, but it just comes up with Error 13019.
And every time I right click on my iPod's name to click 'back up' as many of the forums said, iTunes freezes and nothing happens for about 10 minutes, and I end up having to force close it on the task manager. This has happened 4 times already. -_- I've even updated iTunes to the most recent version, but nothing's changed.
I'm scared to update my iPod, because of course it says it will delete everything, and there's no way I can back things up or sync them without them getting deleted.
Any suggestions on what the heck I should do? By the way, I'm an amateur in the technology world, so please don't use too many fancy words. =)

Try here first to get rid of the error:
iTunes: Error 13019 during sync
Then you should be ablt to make the backup. Just not that the backup that iTunes makes does not insluced synced media like apps and music.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

I also have a 4G ipod touch and a similar problem. Since I updated to the ios5 software any new songs I add to my iTunes don't sync to my ipod main playlist. They show up in the 'recently added' playlist, but not in the main 'songs' section. I fixed the problem once by restoring to factory settings and rather than reinstalling from a backup, I created a new ipod name and synced everything onto my ipod as if it was new.
This worked until the next new song I added and then the same problem started all over again. If you do reinstall everything as new, you may want to take a screen shot of where all your apps are and make sure all your photos etc are saved, as everything will be from scratch. Hope this helps!

Having issues updating the ipod

Can someone help me, please? I spent 8 hours yesterday trying to update my ipod. The do not disconnect,stayed on the entire time. Then a message appeared and said I could disconnect. I disconnected and only 6 songs appeared out of 121. I did the whole process again and only 10 appeared. I did it one more time and now I only have 16 songs. It has to be an error on my part. I followed all of the directions but for some reason the computer freezes up and will not go pass a certain amount.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciate. Thanks.

Try restoring your iPod. This will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation: Restoring iPod to Factory Settings with iTunes 7

When i attempt to update my iPod, I get an error message saying "Attempting to coppy to the disk"ANTS IPOD" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to."

I am having the same issue. I just had the battery replaced at a third party store. The battery powers the ipod up but it needs to be restored. It is saying it isn't eligible for rebuild. TS1420 I updated my ipod to 5.1.1 and now it wont sync downloaded music onto my ipod. All the music I purchased through itunes went on the ipod during backup restore and my downloaded music went into my itunes library but won't sync onto my ipod.

I updated my ipod touch to 5.1.1 and did a system restore. All of my purchased music from itunes went back on along with photos and apps but now it won't let me sync music that I downloaded. All of my music that was imported from cd's synced but not my downloaded music from internet. They went into my itunes library but they are a light gray and have a little sync symbol next to them. I've tried dragging them into different folders but nothing is working. I read that others were having problems with this update but didn't get any answers.

After you have updated your device to version 5.1.1, have you tried resyncing everything from your iTunes yet?
