I'm locked out after using my CORRECT passcode!!

I turn my passcode settings from off to on on occasion (when snoopy relatives come to visit).  Today I went into Settings and turned the passcode to ON.  As usual, it asked me to enter my passcode to make this change and then to reconfirm my passcode.  I did this and was able to turn it ON and continue working on the iPad.  I came back to use the iPad later and it asked me to enter my passcode as expected but now it says it doesn't recognize my passcode now and keeps disabling the iPad.  I have never changed my passcode for the iPad (yes, I have carefully attempted over 20 tries so I know I am not mistyping the passcode with my fat sausage fingers).  I really don't want to restore my iPad if I can avoid it as it makes me nervous that things will be lost (photos, video, big project I was working on this morning before getting locked out).  Help!

I if I remember correctly, if you turn it off, turn it back on, and hold the home button until the "This device is locked" screen (or something among those lines), then it puts your iPad into recovery mode. Although I'm not sure what happens then.
Sorry, but you might have to lose some content. It might be worthwhile to set your iPad to sync over WIFI.

i havnt changed my passcose and using the same passcode which i have been using since ages , its still not working, and i am 100 percent sure i am using the correct passcode ?.,

Either way the result is the same... if you forgot (or don't know) your passcode, restore the device from backup on the last computer it was synced with when the passcode was turned on... this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

  • AD account getting locked out after password change in Jabber

When user changes his network credentials and does not update them in Jabber. Jabber will still try to connect to phone services and voicemail with the old credentials which is leading to their account getting locked in AD after three attempts.
We are using Jabber 9.6.1, so a fairly new version.
Can some suggest if there is a workaround?

    Hi,
We are seeing a similar issue after the user has changed their AD password the account repeatedly gets locked out when they try to log into Jabber.
We are also using Cisco IM&P and our CUCM is LDAP synced
I am interested to know why you are asking if LDAP authentication is configured?

  • I have had to create a new Apple ID due to my old email being locked/out of use. I can not access my old email/Apple Id to change icloud and imessage to my new Apple ID. Any ideas?

I have had to create a new Apple ID after having my previous email locked and put out of use. I have managed to change my purchasing for music and apps to my new Apple ID but for iCloud and iMessage I can not access my old email/Apple ID to change this.
Any ideas guys. Sorry if this has been posted previous.
    New here.
    Thanks

You need to delete them and then download them from the new Apple ID. This may require repurchasing paid applications.

  • Root account locked out after 3 login attempts

I've connected to a 280R (Solaris 9) machine through the console (null modem cable). After trying 3 failed login attempts, it reported that the root account has been locked out. When can I do now to re-enable it?
    Vincent

    The usual dance. :-)
    1. Put in a Solaris install CD
    2. "boot -s " at the "ok" prompt.
    3. mount /dev/c<your boot partition> /mnt
    4. edit /mnt/etc/passwd
    5. Reboot the system.
    6. login as root
    7. Set your password.
    8. write it on a post-it.
    9. place post-it on monitor.
    I'm kidding with steps 8 and 9.

  • IE locks out after applet window closed

I am using an applet which communicates with the server through RMI.
I am launching a browser window with my applet in it from a secure socket layer server.
When I close this window IE locks out but Netscape doesn't.
I tried overriding Applet.destroy() in order to dispose() any windows which I make using the browser frame and which might still be hanging around.
I notice that Netscape calls Applet.destroy() but IE doesn't or does not get that far.
Please can anyone tell me if I am on the right track and/or what I might try to fix this lockout.
    Thanks,
    Nick

    Hi,
I have a similar problem. From watching he trace file of the Java plug-in, IE 5.50.4134.0600 is calling the STOP, DESTROY, DISPOSE, and QUIT applet events all together. It doesn't wait for the applet.stop and applet.distroy functions to finish. My applet saves the user settings in serialized objects and sends it to the server to be saved in the database. If this process finishes before the shutdown of IE, it goes through to the server. Unfortunately, it's not always that fast.
My applet is not signed. That means that any restricted call in applet.stop() and applet.distroy() will be restricted because they are not called from inside the sand box. I read somewhere that signing the applet will solve this. However, Is that the cause of my problem?
    Thanks,

  • White bar across iPhone 4 locked out after iOS7 update...Help

I did the iOS7 udpate this morning and now I have a white bar across my iPhone 4 screen and locked out.   I am only able to answer incoming calls at this point.  I tried restoring from backup but it needs me to turn off the locate phone option from the phone - can't because I'm locked out by white bar. The off button on the top of the phone hasn't worked for nearly a year to try to reset it that way.  Any other ideas out there?

  • I am locked out and dont remember my passcode

I am locked out and I can not sync because my computer broke that I last synced with

If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
You may have to force iPad into Recovery Mode

  • Video out after using Apple Video adapter.

Hi, I have an Mac G5 17" iSight and after I mirror'd my screen to my TV using an Apple video adapter (something I've done hundreds of times before) the computer screen wouldn't change back to the general screen resolution (also something it used to do before). After restarting my computer in an atempt to fix the problem the video was all black (nothing at all, i.e no faint glow) but the computer started up correctly and I could interact with it and control it thru remote access from another mac.
Restarting the PRAM did'nt change anything.
But then after reseting the SMU the computer got worse! Now it just powers up and after som or se time the fans start working real hard but nothing else happens. I don't want to keep them running for more than half a minute because I'm afraid the logic board will burn up if it hasn't already.
What could have happend? Is it fixable?
    Please help....

I answered my own question (this is my post after finding the answer in another thread). Hope this helps someone.
Woohoo! Thanks for the post- I have a 5G with the Apple A/V cable, but I couldn't get the video to work, just the audio on the tv. I didn't have "TV Output" selected "On." Now I don't have to return the product. Man, this 5G is amazing.

  • Macbook pro keeps logging me out after using migration assistant

    Hello All,

They installed a fresh OS on it and took everything else out. I made a dummy account and no more shut downs happend so I migrated my old account over using MA. Now all my accounts are there but as soon as I log in, it logs me out !!! no error message.

i have a macbook pro and just recently after a shutdown, it now keeps logging me out right after i sign into my mac. I tried disk repair, file permissions repair and safe mode and none fixed/ nor safe mode got me inside my mac.
I want to save some files I have on there but can't because I cannot log in.
How were you able to run a disk repair? Did you do that from an install disc?
Can you boot into "single-user" mode? If so there are some commands you can run that will allow you to look into logs files, where you might find the reason for your problem.

  • Locked out after time machine - FileVault?

This is a woeful chain of events...
Several applications were bugging me to upgrade to Yosemite OS especially those connected with iCloud.
Eventually I decided to install on both desktop and laptop. Laptop worked fine.
Desktop wouldn't install owing to Hard Drive needing repair.
Of course now I can't log in so I used Cmd R (OS X Recovery) and tried to repair the disk
This wouldn't work. I created an external Mavericks OS disc to log in and backed up all my files just to be safe.
Then I used the time machine restore to go back to my older Mac (before i started the Yosemite install)
But now I can't lot into my main admin account (where all my most precious files are saved) as i get a message saying "Your home folder which is protected by Filevault didn't open. It needs to be repaired." Please click to proceed.
Well none of this works. In addition, if I log in to another admin account (no problem with this - but no Filevault either) I cannot access any of the backup files I saved - the user folder has a "no entry sign (uk)" and all my music and photos and documents are invisible even though the folders are clearly holding a lot of data.
So in short - Apple tempts me to update my OS. I'm given no preparatory instructions to perform before the install. The install fails. I use OS Recover and Time Machine. But I am still blocked out of all my files. I've spent 2 days trying to find a way to do this. Please help.

Not sure if this is a Time Machine issue or not, but I did a Repair Permissions operation on my startup drive (an older Mac Mini 100GB drive) after I had set up Time Machine to backup my startup drive on a Seagate FreeAgent Pro 500GB external drive. Since the Repair Permissions, neither TM nor I can access the external drive; when I try to open the drive in Finder, I get the following message: "The folder “FreeAgent Drive” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents."
Those two things shouldn't be related.
Disk Utility thinks the drive is fine
