No movies are free, unless you pirate them. Discussing that isn't allowed here.
You can get movies for near-free with apps like Netflix and some others.

    Hi
Did You ever use - iPhoto ?
Did You may be direct iPhoto to a different Photo Library
As iMovie tries to find the appropriate photo library - it can get lost if iPhoto direct it into a Library on a not connected external hard disk or to a strange location - And iMovie HANGS.
Do - When no other program is running that might interfere
    • Start iPhoto - BUT NOW KEEP alt-key (option key) DOWN during the full Start-Up process
    • Now iPhoto let's You select Photo Library
    • Select the one in Your Account / Home folder / Pictures ! !
    • Then iPhoto should start up OK
    • Now Quit iPhoto
    • START iMovie
Does it still hangs - then I would suspect - iMovie Pref. file
If it Run's OK - Then HURRAY !

  • Looking for "photo movie"

I am setting up the new iMac 20 inch. I have gotten photo booth working. I like to make a little movie with the isight camera which I could email in a common file type. I guess I am looking for "photo movie".

I believe iMovie '08 will do the trick -- IIRC, there's a selection in the menu bar to record video clips from the iSight camera. Sorry I can't give you specific details at the moment, but I'm in the middle of an OS-X re-install and haven't re-loaded iMovie, yet.

  • HT201272 click the tab for the content type you're looking for (Music, Movies, TV Shows, Apps, or Books). No. a lie

"From your Purchased page, click the tab for the content type you're looking for (Music, Movies, TV Shows, Apps, or Books)."
Ok, Movies only in US.. that is fine.. BUT I only have Apps and Books to select. Where is my option to download my music again? I can see my purchases under my account but from the store trying to follow the described method - impossible!
I don't care about apps or books.. music.. I want my paid music. No wonder people pirate music?!

But will I be able to keep the data stored in the applications, photos, books and also the sorting and the folder arrangements the same way they were, after erasing all the data and synchornizing with the new library?
That is the aim of the process set out here: Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • Went looking for fun movies to download for my holidays. Found Sixteen Candles and others for £3.99, great! Went to download them this morning on wifi and ***! All movies are now £6.99 each. Total RIP OFF for old movies. Why oh why iTunes? So greedy!

Went looking for fun movies to download for my holidays. Found Sixteen Candles and others for £3.99, great! Went to download them this morning on wifi and ***! All movies are now £6.99 each. Total RIP OFF for old movies. Why oh why iTunes? Stop being so greedy and make older movies a more reasonable price. I would buy a lot more, it's just false economy in my book. Don't get me started on the difference in price with the US.
    Stop being so greedy iTunes!
Anyone know how I can get cheaper movies?

  • We rented a movie from Apple TV, had to pause it, accidentally pressed the search button on remote, could not get back into the movie, apple said 'go to settings, downloads, look for the movie', yeah, right, there is no 'downloads' selection under setting

wow, this is taking forever to communicate with anyone, I just want my $4.99 back from the movie rental I paid for. I paid for a rental, we were watching it, had to pause it, accidentally hit 'menu' on the apple remote, tried to get back into the movie, wouldn't let us, apple said ' go to settings, click downloads, select the rented movie from there',( not really a quote, but, close enough).  So, we went to 'Settings' on main menu, but, there is no 'downloads' icon....I guess it is true:  Do Not Rent from Apple TV'.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You are looking at outdated instructions, you can find the "check the downloads" option under settings > iTunes Store. You may also wish to look on the movies > rentals.

  • Looking for simple movie player

I am looking for a very simple player with the following characteristics:
    * all mplayer keyboard shortcuts (I imagine some kind of mplayer wrapper application)
    * buttons for play/pause + scrollbar/progressbar + mute + volume
    * ONE dialog with: path to a movie, path to a subtitle, choose subtitle encoding, subtitle font (eventually)
    THAT'S IT, nothing more.
Codeine is close to being a perfect simple movie player, but the subtitle thingy doesn't really work as I'd like, from my testing.

    try kmplayer or kplayer.

  • Iphoto keeps crashing because it is looking for a movie which doesn't exist

Every time i open Iphoto, it says that it is looking for *.avi but it can't be opened because the original item can't be found. Then it crashes and I have to force quit. I didn't reference or delete this file, I haven't even viewed it in a while. Now I am totally locked out. Please help.

Try rebuilding the database. Hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys and launch iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.

  • Looking for a movie app

Does anyone know of an app that lets you scroll through a list of upcoming movies and select the ones you want to see, then put them in a calendar view. I want to be able to keep track of release dates for movies I want to see, without looking at all releases and without having to type each movie in by hand.

    iTunes Store app is free

  • Looking for: Promo Movies of Podcast Producer--- slick demo's

Why can't I find any actual video podcasts of Podcast Producer? Is it too new? Does someone have to capture a capture with another tool? (...like an iShowU capture of how to use Snapz Pro...)
I want to show a video clip to demo this to my boss. Something to show the aspects of this being a great centralizing database for creating and publishing online video training movies... but she ain't going to get that from a one-page blurb on the Apple site's Leopard Server page.
Anyone? Links to actual movies about Podcast Producer?

The OS X 10.7 servers we installed didn't have it and Apple support told us it wasn't included.  But we could migrate it from older 10.6 and 10.5 servers to run it.  But it won't run on 10.8 at all now.

  • How to tell Front Row to look for movies on a USB drive?

I'm working on getting all my dvd's on two 500gb usb drives - using Handbrake to encode everything. This is much faster with a new 2.4ghz 24" iMac by the way (6-8hrs on my 1.8ghz athlon vs 1-2 with the iMac...woohoo).
What I'm trying to do is get the movies (on the usb drives) to show up in Front Row. One way I know of is by making an alias for each movie and moving the alias to my "Movies" folder on the main HD. This is a little tedious. When I simply drag and drop it in the "Movies" folder it just copies it and that is not what I want. Is there a way to just tell Front Row where to look for the movies? If I use iTunes the same thing happens, it just transfers all movies to the main HD...nevermind. I unchecked the box that said to copy everything.
The plan was on using iTunes for movies I encode specifically for iPods exclusively, searching through 600+ movies to get a few for the iPod doesn't seem user friendly.
So the question remains. Is there another way to get Front Row to just see the movies on another drive without iTunes or using an alias for each one or are those 2 my only choices?

I'm glad you got it figured out. Front Row actually looks for movie files in two places. First, as you've discovered, it looks inside your user's "Movies" folder. An alias there pointing to a different location will lead Front Row to the other location. Also, Front Row looks inside iTunes for movies. This way, it can find TV shows, music videos and movies purchased from the iTunes Music Store. Another option, besides making an alias in your "Movies" folder, would be to add the movies to iTunes.

  • How to search for a Movie?

I'm looking for the movie "Roots" which lasts probably 12 or 14 hours. I found 'Episode One' in a list with a billion songs called 'roots', but can't find the whole movie for purchase. How do I search for a movie without all the songs included in the list, and is it possible that iTunes doesn't sell the whole movie "Roots" in one fell swoop?

If you are referring to the show based on Alex Haley's book, it wasn't a movie, it was a TV miniseries and so is multiple episodes and must be purchased as such or as a Season. If you do a Power Search for TV Shows and use Roots in the Show field, you'll find all the episodes. Here's the link to the original series:
    http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewTVSeason?id=255117456&s=14 3441
and here's Roots: The Next Generation:

  • Using iMovie - looking for mp4 converter

    Hi,
I am looking for a .mov - mp4 converter, as I can't open my .mov files from my cam in iMovie.
Does anyone know a good freeware program?
I found Xilisoft and 4media converter, but they are not for free - trial version converts only 5 minutes or if it's shorter only half of the file.
