I'm missing a HOME key on a new bluetooth wireless keyboard.

Does anyone know where to find the HOME key on the new smaller bluetooth wireless keyboard? I spilled coffee on my full keyboard and can't bring it back to life. I need the HOME key for a music online service. It returns the playhead on trascription to start.

You should be able to see the number in your system files/foldes by navigating to:

  • The volume keys on my Logitech K760 wireless keyboard do not work with my 2.3 GHz, Intel Core i5 Mac mini which runs Mac OS X 10.7.4. Anyone know how to correct this without having to re-code firmware?

My first post to the Apple Support Community so it looks like all I wanted to know is covered in the title. The research I have done led me to solutions that I am not comfortable trying for fear of irreparably damaging my keyboard and/or Mac mini. Does anyone have a simpler solution? Please? Hellooooo?
Just in case the title is too long to show, I have re-pasted here:

  • [BB Q10] We missed the shortcut key on BBOS with physical qwerty keyboard!

    Dear Development Team,
On behalf of a lot of BBer in Vietnam and all over the world, I'd like to ask you to bring the home screen shortcuts features from BBOS to BB10.
Especially for Blackberry Q10, the more using Q10, the more we miss the shortcuts on BBOS, should we come back to BB which loaded by BBOS???
I missed the key A,K: to lock the keyboard, screen.
I missed the key P, C: to enter to phone or contact.
I missed the key U: to start calculator.
I missed the key L: to go to calendar.
I missed the key D, T: to make a memo and task.
I missed the key N: go to BBM
And I missed more and more them all while using Q10. Why don't you just bring it back on BB10?
Once again, We strongly, absolutely, definitely suggest you to bring it back on BB10 before we change our mind.
    Thank for listening.
    Love you.

yes. I really miss homescreen shorcuts. It's the most reason why i chose blackberry for myself. Please bring it come to us.. thank you

  • Volume and FF keys do not work on wireless keyboard

I replaced a wireless keyboard for my iMac today, and just noticed tonight that when I try to adjust the volume UP, it sends me to widgets, and when I try to adjust the volume DOWN, it dims the desktop behind my open window.
I've tried checking, and unchecking, the box in Preferences>Keyboard>Use all F1, F2, etc. as standard function keys. I've also gone to keyboard shortcuts and disabled F7 to F12. But no volume or rewind/ff etc.
How do I get my volume and rw/ff keys back? Thanks!

Also, I have attempted to submit a repair claim online as I have the Apple Care for the iMac but when I go to enter the Hardware Serial Number of the Keyboard in the Wireless Keyboard repair section, it does not recognize it.
    Dustin,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I would recommend entering the computer's serial number not the keyboards. You can locate the computer by clicking the  in the upper left corner of your screen, clicking About this Mac, and where it states the Version click 2x until the serial number appears.
    Regards,
    Roger

  • FN key not working on Apple Wireless Keyboard

EDIT: Found the culprit: USB Overdrive was taking over the external keyboard. After disabling USB Overdrive for the keyboard, the FN key started working again.
I have Macbook Air (Mid 2013) connected to a Cinema Display and Apple Wireless Keyboard. MBA is running the latest Yosemite (10.10).
I tried using FN + Delete on the wireless keyboard to forward delete but it didn't work, it just deleted. I tried other keyboard shortcuts that require the use of FN key, and none of them work either. But when I try these directly on the MBA's keyboard, the FN key works perfectly there, just not on the wireless keyboard.
I've removed the bluetooth keyboard and tried reconnecting, restarting computer, login out and back in. Nothing works. Anyone have any ideas?

I disabled "Any Keyboard, Any Application" and "Any Other, Any Application" but I still could not use my Fn key on my Apple Wireless Keyboard. Uninstalling (removing the driver) restored Fn key functionality. In addition downgrading from 3.1 to 3.0.2 on Yosemite also solved this issue.
Did you actually try what you wrote?
I should also note that the Fn key on my rMBP's internal keyboard works with 3.1, oddly enough, but the Apple Wireless Keyboard's Fn key does not.

  • Why are alpha/numeric keys inoperative on aluminum apple wireless keyboard

This is a follow on to previous topic that i answered.
I was able to get my wireless keyboard partially operational.
It is paired and only partially functionall
    • Alpha numeric keys do not work
    • Delete Key (backward) and fn-Delete (forward) work
    • Arrow keys work
    • Function keys and
    • Mouse keys are working 8 (up), k (down), u (left), o (right), 7 (up diagonal left), l (down diagonal right), j (down diagonal left, 9 (up diagonal right). i is the mouse click.
i am leaving this up for the benefit of other Wireless Keyboard users.
THE APPARENT PROBLEM IS IN THE UNIVERSAL ACCESS PREFERENCES.
I just hit Opt key five times and now the Wireless Keyboard is working very well. The mouse keys are now normal keys for Alpha Numerics. Note i am typing 8, k, u, o, 7, l, j, 9, i. . Now do Opt five times.
(typed on my USB keyboard) There is a alarm sound when the change over occurs. Now the Alpha Numerics are inoperative and the mouse keys work. Remember that the wireless keyboard does not have a number pad. Therefore; when mouse keys are activated the above alphanumeric keys take the place of number pad 8, 2. 4. 6, 7, 3, 1, 9, and 5.
Now back to the wireless keyboard. From top to bottom, left to right lower case keys:
    zxcvbnm,./ asdfghjkl;', qwertyuiop[]\ `1234567890-=
From top to bottom, left to UPPER CASE keys:
    ZXCVBNM,./ ASDFGHJKL:" QWERTYUIOP{}| ~!@#$%^&*()_+
So i answered my question and leave it for your benefit. One other comment:
When i first set up the keyboard and spent half a day yesterday thinking i was getting nowhere because the green ON light was out. Chalk that up to what i consider poor documentation which didn't describe normal operating conditions.
It isn't supposed to light except during initial setup when it flashes. The caps lock key lights when it is pressed SO THAT IS A GOOD INDICATION THE KEYBOARD IS ACTIVE.
    Regards: The General

General, you are a genius. This happened to me just last week. I racked my brain trying to figure it out. Apple Care had no idea and recommended I exchange my keyboard for a new one, which I did. The problem still persisted. I tried deleting my bluetooth plist and using a USB keyboard which resulted in disaster when I used the number pad and suddenly my mouse no longer worked.
I scoured the literature looking for some sort of key-lock function and found zip. Apple Care told me to take in the entire CPU. Unsatisfied with that, I researched further and found your thread. I told Apple Care they need to tell Apple to make a note of this in their literature!
    Thanks again!

  • New Apple Wireless Keyboard Function Key not working ON 10.5.8

Tried updating keyboard os, disconecting reconnecting. Selecting/deselecting option in keyboard options.  power off and on
Cannot get function key to work
    Thanks

found answer here- my wireless keyboard model is  MC184LL/B
    http://store.apple.com/us/question/answers/product/MB110LL/B?pqid=QXXHTX4T747AAF PXKHXCC72CYAXYU7XXYUPK9UFC74K27FPKF
The Function keys will not all work properly on 10.5.8, all the other keys will be fine.  The previous model MB110LL/A would work with all the Function keys on Leopard or Snow Leopard.

  • Stuck key (not physically) on Apple Wireless Keyboard

I went away on holiday for a month, and when I came back my Apple Wireless (BT) Keyboard sticks on the "U" key. It takes 2-3 presses for the key to appear on screen, and when one 'u' appears, it sticks (uuuu...) until I hit another key. I have not changed anything, have not installed any software updates, etc. I tried deleting all BT devices, restarting, then adding the keyboard back. Same result. I tried applying the BT wireless keyboard patch (which claims to fix this issue) and still nothing. Nobody used the keyboard while I was on vacation. It's just over a year old... does anyone have any idears? Thanks in advance.

I am also having a "U" problem with my wireless keyboard. The only way to get a capital U is to press the Cap key. The Shift key doesn't do the trick. The small u does not work as well as the rest of the keys but I don't seem to have the exact small problem as you do. My keyboard is only 3 months old. I called Apple and they want me to complete wipe out my hard drive and reload all the software. I'm not ready to do that yet so I am "suffering in silence".

  • Trying to use function keys (like windows) on apple wireless keyboard for ipad, as well as arrow keys.

I am connecting to my work PC through my ipad. My main program i use for work is a DAS based (ancient, i know.) Anyways, i have to be able to use function keys, i can touch the screen so if i can not it isn't the end of the world. But it would make things MUCH more easier. Is there a way to program the F1-F12 keys on the wireless keyboard to use like windows, rather than the brightness/volume/play buttons.
Also, my arrow keys don't seem to work right. If i am using notepad, they don't work, unless i have entered down 6 lines, the arrows will work as far as those 6 lines, but won't go down on there own. If i am on the internet and there is a drop down menu, the arrow keys don't work either. As well as in my work program, they don't work at all, it's as if the arrow keys don't register.
    Help?!

Just added information. In my work program, i can use the onscreen keyboard (but it takes up half the screen so i can not see what i am doing. From that keyboard, and can toggle back and forth from the regular keyboard, the FN screen for function keys, and the CTRL keyboard. This is why i am confused as to why the function keys and arrows will not work on the wireless, yet they have the keyboard on the screen.

  • Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard acting as if keys are pressed

I've had an Apple Aluminum Bluetooth keyboard for over two years, and last week (after a fresh install of OS X Lion on my late 2009 Mac Mini) all of a sudden the Mac is acting as if multiple keys are pressed when nothing is touching the keyboard. I have updated all software, replaced the batteries, deleted and re-paired the keyboard (which was a massive struggle as it acted as if keys were depressed even during the pairing process). Nothing has ever been spilled on the keyboard. The only way to make the sound of the "phantom depressed key" go away and regain full control of the computer, is to remove the batteries from the keyboard.
Strangely, the problem seemed to have been resolved somehow after I placed the "Show character viewer" icon in the main menu (ie. where there is usually a US/other nationality flag). After doing so, all of a sudden the problem disappeared.
Now, exactly a week later, the problem has reappeared.
Can anyone explain why a keyboard would act this way? Has anyone had a similar problem? Is there a fix?
I'm a longtime reader of theese support discussion boards, but this is the first time I've posted. Let me know if there's information that I can provide that would help us solve this issue.
    Cheers.

I have similar issue: both left and right shift keys time to time being pressed, it disappears after a while...but once I couldn't log in as the shift option puts caps lock on....really annoying.
The only reason in my case is the keyboard cleaning that I have done recently...
There is no quick fix for this I am afraid.
    Options:
1.Apple replaces the keyboard you pay around £200 I think....
    2. Buy new keyboard on Ebay and replace it yourself £40....

  • Messed up home key

The home key on my new 8G iPhone is all messed up! Takes a couple of pushes for it to work.. I suppose the only solution is to go back to apple and exchange it? Anyone having problems like that?

I am having kind of the same issue as well. It seems to take two or more attempts for the home button to respond. Especially, immediately after a call has just ended. The screen stays blank so I cannot see for sure that the call ended and this prevents me from hitting the end call button if i need to, and when I try to hit the home button, it just sits there for a long time and finally gets me back to a locked screen. Sometimes, it works to hit the power button at the top of the phone and then the next time I hit the Home button it finally responds promptly to bring the screen back.

  • Plus and minus keys on wireless keyboard?

hi there everyone. i've got a new aluminum wireless keyboard and i love it to bits. gorgeous bit of design and elegance. on the previous apple keyboard however there was a couple of handy keys next to the numeric pad for 'plus' and 'minus'. Does anyone know how i can find these on the wireless keyboard? these were particularly handy when hit with the 'command' key to increase or decrease the size of text in safari.

excellent, thank you, i'd obviously not looked at my keyboard closely enough! cheers...

  • The number keys on wireless keyboard don't work

the number keys on my Mac desktop wireless keyboard don't work

Which version of OS X are you using?
    • If Snow Leopard (10.6.x) or earlier, go to System Preferences > Universal Access
    • If Lion (10.7.x) or later. go to System preferences > Accessibility
In the Mouse section in the preceding, look for the item Mouse Keys - if that function is "on", turn it off.

  • Forward and Back Delete Keys on Wireless Keyboard (short)?

    Hello, All:
My new Apple wireless keyboard (short version) has only the delete key on it. Is there a way to program the additional delete key, allowing me to delete in the right-hand direction? The current delete key deletes only the in the left-hand direction.

I've just been setting up a new Wireless Keyboard for a client using a MacBook with Tiger - on which the Fn+Delete combination works - and have found that it doesn't work on her Wireless Keyboard like everyone says it should! It just gives an error beep. Help!

  • F# keys on Apple Wireless Keyboard not working correctly.

    Hello everyone,
Today I bought a brand new Apple Wireless Keyboard (the small ones who resemble laptop keyboards), which I'm very glad I bought as some keys on my older keyboard started not working anymore.
I configured the keyboard with bluetooth and it's working just fine, except for one thing:
The F# keys don't work as their respective icons indicate (i.e. If I press F10, F11 and/or F12, the volume isn't affected as it normally should, but instead the keys don't seem to respond, as if I weren't pressing them).
In the Keyboard & Mouse panel in System Preferences, under the Keyboard Shortcuts, I managed to reset the F1 to F4 keys so they work as their respective icons indicate, though I didn't find and don't know how to create any shortcuts to make the volume keys (F10, F11 & F12) work again.
Also, I would appreciate if you could help me out to reset the F7, F8 & F9 keys, which don't work either.
I tried checking and un-checking the "Use the keys F1, F2 and so on, as standard function keys." option under the Keyboard tab, and pressing the "fn" key while pressing the F# keys, but none of those attempts seem to change anything to how the F# keys work.
I don't know what else to do anymore and I would really appreciate some help now.
Thanks in advance for your responses,
    Oscar.

Shutdown your macbook. After thats done , switch the wireless keyboard off. Press Shift + Ctrl + Option  + Power Key (all together ) and then release together. Start up the macbook and once that's up start up the keyboard.Try now.The keys should work fine.
