I'm missing buttons in iTunes 11 for my device

I have the PC iTunes 11.0.1.12.  Since upgrading I no longer can see my device that's plugged in.  I want to rearrange my apps in iTunes but there does not seem to be any way to do so.

Try re-indexing the mailboxes. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.

  • HT1495 I followed Method 3 to create a separate iTunes library for each device, and now I can't find my original iTunes

I pressed held down shift when I opened iTunes to follow the method to create separate iTunes libraries, and now I cannot find my original iTunes. I am so frustrated.

Does the original library file still exist on the computer?  Hopefully when creating the new library it was done in a seperate folder as I do not believe iTunes allows for two library files in the same location.

  • HT1535 Can I use 1 itunes library for 2 devices?

I have iphone 3gs which i sync with itunes on my laptop. I also have lots of music on my ipod. Can I transfer music from my ipod to the same itunes library that Iuse for my phone?

Yes, but if they are for 2 different people make sure they have separate apple id's for things like imessage, icloud, facetime etc.

  • ITunes outage for all devices 7/31/12

Can't connect to iTunes for 2 iPhones, iPad and 2 MacBooks. I don't see any notice about what is going on.

I've discovered the same problem on my iPad, iPhone and Macbook Pro. A Google search shows this seems to be a widespread problem. But I don't see any notice, either.

  • Too many iTunes songs for iTouch device

I have not tried this yet, but want some advice before I do I have an extensive library of music with over 450,000 songs. If I loaded them all into iTunes and then sync my iTouch, 32 gb, which will only handle approx. 70,000, what will happen on the first sync??
Will I have to keep checking and unchecking the songs I want on my iTouch??

Unfortunately once all the 3 iCloud accounts have been created on your device, you cannot create any more regardless of what you do. You will need to re-use one of the accounts that you have already created or create your new account on another device or computer.

  • Credits missing in my itunes accnt on one device-present one a different on

i have credits in my itunes account(9.80) ; i see the credits in my imac upstairs once i log into my itunes accnt; downstairs in my laptop(macbook) i log into itunes and there are no credits in my accnt(on my laptop) when i log into itunes downstairs; can anyone help?; i have logged off upstairs and also downstairs and re-logged in-same problem; checked all settings; still no credits on my macbook laptop itunes account

Just to confirm, you're logging into the same iTunes Store account on both systems, correct?
If so, what version of ITunes do you have on each system? If it's not the same and the version on the problem system is significantly older, it's possible you'll need to upgrade your version of iTunes to get it to work properly with the iTunes Store.
    Hope this helps.

  • One Itunes library for Ipod and touch

I have a 5th generation Ipod and plan on upgrading to the Ipod touch. Can I keep my one itunes library for both devices or does each device have to have its own itunes account/library?

    You can't do that.
And before you decide to store any music that you own on a computer at work, talk to your IT department. Many organizations do not permit it for legal reasons. Standard policies are that anything stored on company owned computers is the property of the company. It could not be legally stored on their machines unless you transfer the licenses and all copies, physical and digital, to the company, meaning you no longer own the music. If they were to be audited and could not prove that they own the music, they would be subject to copyright violation penalties. Just use your iPod when you're at the office if you want to listen to music.

  • No tick box for music in iTunes preferences for setting up iCloud

Ok I'm new to icloud and now want to set up my mac itunes library for another device. When I follow the oinstructions on how to set up icloud I get stuck on step 3 i.e. the step where you're suppose to open itunes - preferences - store and then check music, apps and books. I can only check two boxes (books and apps) and no box for music appears. What am i doing wrong or what setting needs changed?

I have 2 iphones in the family and want to use itunes match on both devices, unfortunately my husband has his own itunes acct and when i change on his phone to my itunes acct it states that the email is already in use, any help on how to get the itunes match to go onto both devices, thanks

    "Method Three
Create a separate iTunes library for each device. Note:It is important that you make a new iTunes Library file. Do not justmake a copy of your existing iTunes Library file. If iTunes is open, quit it.
This one may work. I searched and searched on the website for something like this, I guess I just didn't search correctly, lol. I will give this a try later. My daughter is not be back for a few weekends, therefore I will have to try the Method 3 when she comes back for the weekend again. "
I forgot to mention that she has a PC at her house that she also syncs to. Would this cause a problem. I am already getting that pop up saying that the iPod is synced to another library (even though she is signed in with her Apple ID to iTunes) and gives the pop up to Cancel, Erase & Sync, or Transfer Purchases. My question arose because she clicked on "Erase & Sync" by mistake when she plugged the iPod to her PC the first time. When the iPod was purchased and setup, it was synced to my PC first. When she went home, she hooked it up to her PC and then she erased it by accident. I was able to restore all the missing stuff yesterday using my PC. However, even after doing that it still told me the next time I hooked it up last night that the iPod was currently synced with a different library. Hopefully, you can help me understand all this. She wants to sync her iPod and also backup her iPod at both places. Both PCs have been authorised. Thanks

  • Can I share an iTunes account with multiple devices?

I had an iPhone 3GS. Just upgraded to an iPhone 5C. I'd like to save the 3GS for our daughter to use as an iPad Touch. I realize that I'll need to wipe the 3GS clean and start over with new apps for her. I have a few questions:
Can I use my same iTunes account for both devices, or must I create a new iTunes account for my daughter's app and music purchases?
How do I change the device name in iTunes, so that her iPhone no longer bears my name?
Also, can I sync both devices on the same computer, or is it better to use different computers for the two devices?
    Thank you!

    Agile,
Any of the above will work, depending how you would like to set it up.
Given that kids tend to eventually grow up and be independent, the best long term answer for most people is to let her have her own account and her own library as soon as she can handle it.  Keep in mind that content purchased from the iTunes Store is permanently tied to the account from which it was originally purchased, so separating later is a challenge.
If you want to sync multiple devices to the same library, that will work.  Or if you want separate libraries (as I would recommend), they can be either on separate computers or on separate Windows user accounts on the same PC.
For the name change:  Connect the device.  When the name appears in the left sidebar of iTunes, highlight it and change it.

  • We have three Ipads in our house.  We have one itunes account with multiple devices like two Iphones and Apple TV.   My question is about our three Ipads.   How can I set up the imessaging and facetime on all three devices while only using one Itunes acct

Okay.  We have three Ipads in our house with only one Itunes account.   When I go into imessaging and facetime on each of the devices, it wants to start switching my wife's cell phone and then the three emails associated with each Ipad to the contact information for all of the Ipads.    As of this morning, only the imessaging and facetime are turned on my wife's iphone and ipad.   My kids imessaging and facetime is turned off.     Do you really have to have an itunes account for each device to make then work???    Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Ryan

There is only one solution. Each user must have their own separate user account. All of their respective data would be contained in their separate user accounts. This also means each will have a separate iTunes Library. If you all use the same third-party apps, then each will have to purchase their own copies under their own Apple IDs. Some data sharing is possible. See:

  • Devices button missing in Windows iTunes 11.1.3

There is no Devices button in iTunes in the upper right. When i plug in my iPhone, nothing happens except iTunes-wise (I get a prompt on the iPhone asking if I want to trust the computer and I click Trust and nothing happens; Windows asks me to define what should happen with the iPhone is connected and I let the prompt go away). I have done all the obvious things:
    uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes
restarted the Apple Mobile Devices service and confirmed it is set up as an Automatic service
    restarted Windows
unplugged the iPhone and plugged it back in
made sure my computer is authorized
In iTunes, File > Devices has no options that aren't grayed out.
Windows Explorer does show the iPhone. This seems like an iTunes issue.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

I figured this out. The Apple Mobile Devices USB Driver was missing, though it was on the computer. Following the instructions to use devmgmt.msc to update the driver from the local file worked.
