I'm missing folder summaries...

After moving up to Lion on its release, I did not realise how much I would miss the little summary at the bottom of each open folder window (No. of items, etc.).
I haven't found any way to bring that back in Lion. Has anyone else?
Thanks,
Ted

Many thanks, CT.
That will teach me to to look for the simple answer before bothering others.
Thanks again.

  • The 'Missing Folder" and multiple hard drives

I have an iMac, OS 10.7.    I use Lightroom (LR)  5.7.    I have the Mac hard drive (HD), a 1T LaCie external HD, and a 2T Buffalo Linkstation external HD.
I admit that I did not realize how important it was to do everything in LR until after I moved and deleted images on the hard drives. My goal is to locate my photos and put them in one, happy, place so I can organize and delete the bad ones.
I understand that I need to Import images into LR from the Desktop or a HD, and know how to do that.
The problem I have is that I am confused and don't want to make a mistake and lose images.
    For example:
I have a "?" (question mark) on the "Charles pre-web" folder
I Right-Click and the "Find Missing Folder…" dialog box displays
    3. After clicking, the "Desktop" screen displays with many images
    4. After clicking "Choose" the dialog box asks if I want to merge.
    5. What do I do and where are these images?
    6. Can I safely delete the folder "?Charles pre-web"?
I have started adding Collections but need help with the organizing part as well.
Thank you in advance for any and all help. I am not stupid, just ignorant.

Do not click Merge -- that will completely mess up everything.
I don't remember if I moved it to another HD or deleted it?
In LR, click on the "Charles pre-web" folder, and Library view will show you just the thumbnails of the photos that were in that folder.   Choose one of the photos, write down its exact filename (e.g. "DSC03025.dng"), and then use the Mac's Finder to search for it on your hard drives.  Once you find where it is, go back to LR and click the "!" in the upper-right corner of the photo's thumbnail, and then click Locate.

  • Find Missing Folder - does not work.  Please help!

Has anyone had this problem?  This is driving me crazy.  Any time I rename or move a folder and try to use the "Find Missing Folder" option it does not show any of my hard drives!  It has been like this through several LR updates.  I kept praying the next release of lightroom would fix this, but so far no luck.

Did you try clicking on the left menu, on the _folder_, and selecting "Update folder location"?
You can also try "promote parent folder" to move it up the chain and find the missing drives...
    Cheers!

  • Entire drive not available when finding missing folder

I keep my photos on an external hard drive so I can use Lightroom on my laptop and desktop computers.
I just opened up my catalog on my desktop, and as expected all of the pictures as flagged as missing (since the desktop mounts the external drive as a different drive letter than the laptop).  I right-click on the folders and select "Find missing folder", however the dialog that comes up only allows me to select folders in my user directory on my C drive.  There is no address bar, and none of my other drive partitions or the external hard drive show up as selectable options.
Here is an example of what I mean..

That's an LR bug which I think only affects Windows systems, and is caused by having too many icons on your desktop (no, I'm not kidding). Workaround/fix is either clean up you desktop a little (or a lot), or you can start typing the path to the external drive in the Folder box at the bottom of the dialog box and all will be revealed.

  • I just replaced the power supply in my Intel imac and now the screen is really really dark and I see the missing folder icon, what do I do?

The power supply in my Intel iMac went out (and smelled pretty burned) so I replced it and now when I start it up the display is so dark I can hardly see it and it shows the missing folder icon. Is it the inverter? Or if shine a flashlight on it and re-install the OS will changing the display settings maybe fix it?

Thanks for ur quick reply to my problem. I tried all of that with no results... I did notice tho that the lights next to and above my caps lock key and my num lk key are now flashing. They flash in unison three times then there is a two second pause then they flash three more times and this repeats. They may have been doing this before I tried this solution but I did not take notice until now... I was also wondering how I am supposed to know, after pressing f10 to enter bios, how I can tell if my new drive is being detected when my monitor will not function? Was pressing f10 supposed to possibly make the monitor turn on? In a last ditch effort to try and further identify the problem, I re installed my old drive. Before replacing it my computer would begin to boot then display a hard error that would not allow me to continue booting and run Windows. My display would still work but I could not run Windows. After re installing the drive the monitor will not turn on. I'm beginning to think that I have a bad monitor. Is there a way of testing this with out buying one? Where does the monitor connect to the mother board? I wonder if maybe its been jarred loose, although I highly doubt it, it may still be worth looking at. Thanks again for your advice.

  • DPR_DOCUMENT iview is having missing folder icon and description

    Hi All,
The C projects iview DPR_DOCUMENT contains many folders under the document tab. A particular user is facing the issue of missing folder icon and name at the project header level.
Any suggestions as to why this could be happening or where this can be checked will be very helpful to me.
    Thank You

  • Will Upgrade from Tiger fix "Prohibited sign" and "Missing Folder" symbols.

Recently I have been having the problem on start up an dI haven't since been able to boot up properly in months...
So, I was wondering if upgrading to Leopard would fix the problem or is it time to replace in general.

There are never any guarantees, but the "missing folder" symbol means your existing installation is non-operational. The way to fix that is to erase the drive and reinstall OS X. Assuming there are no hardware problems your computer should return to normal.

  • I got a missing folder from my desktop.

    Hi everyone.
I got a missing folder from my desktop. I did not erased it and i can't find it using Finder, Terminal or Spotlight. I'm running a Macbook Pro, 2Ghz Intel Core i7, 4 gb 1333 Mhz DDR3. iOS 10.9.4 Maverick.
I can't figure what happened... i just turn on my Mac yesterday and the folder was not longer there. I got all my work in that folder and it's very important to me. Unfortunately i don't have a Time machine backup.
I'm using Stellar Phoenix Mac Dara Recovery, trying to check if the folder was erased by mistake... i don't believe that anyways but i'm trying this tool.
    Any help will be useful.
    Thank you so much!.

Well the actual problem is that i never (that i recall) deleted that folder from my desktop. I'd read this happened to many other people and i think may be a corrupt file problem or something technical. I'm just asking for someone who has this problem and of course a solution for this.
It's like you have one folder on your desktop and then turn off your Mac, next day you turn on the computer and you don't see the folder anywhere... it's strange to me.

  • LR 1.2 Missing Folder

I noticed last night that I had a missing folder in the library, this was due to searching for a picture file name and not being able to find in LR. I had found it using windows explorer on my XP PC.
I imported the folder back into LR, but now all the pic file names have a prefix of -2, as if they already existed?
When I then go back and search the only pics displayed are the ones with the prefix added. Any ideas?

I don't think you should have actually "imported" the folder. Rather when LR <br />can't find a folder, right clicking produces the option to "locate the <br />missing folder", just navigate to it and all should be fine.<br /><br />You should just be able to delete the -2 pictures, make sure you select the <br />option to delete them from disk and all should be well.<br /><br /><br /><br /><[email protected]> wrote in message <br />news:[email protected]..<br />> I noticed last night that I had a missing folder in the library, this was <br />> due to searching for a picture file name and not being able to find in LR. <br />> I had found it using windows explorer on my XP PC.<br />><br />> I imported the folder back into LR, but now all the pic file names have a <br />> prefix of -2, as if they already existed?<br />><br />> When I then go back and search the only pics displayed are the ones with <br />> the prefix added. • Locate missing folder with new hard drive

What is the best way to tell Lightroom 1.4 where all your files are if all of them have been moved from an internal drive to an external drive?
The condition I am concerned about is that after I have moved these files I do not see same ole folders in the Library module (aka folders of images in all the old folders on the hard drive)
I have just moved my all photos from an internal to an external hard drive. I have gone through a few image by image and "locate(d) missing file". I would like to be able to do a master or one time "locate missing file" or really locate missing folder to locate everything all at once.
Is it possible to "locate missing folder or file on a a big scale? The files are the same same names etc.

yes that concerns me to. In the past when I have moved folders around "re-arranged" files or folders, I have successfully located the missing folder (file) on the hard drive thus directing Lightroom to this new location and all the sub folders do "fall into place" Since this has not been my experience with thisnew hard drive I am just wondering if ....well just wondering if I should back up Lightroom take off computer and re-load the software. I do not know the possible consequences of this action.
I do not import the files into Lightroom.

  • MIssing folder Library/Application Support/iCal folder

Hope this is in the correct discussion!
This folder is missing from my MBP. On Time Machine, I can't find it and have gone back to March 2012 when TM starts.
Does it create itself and what data would it hold?
I've lost all my iCal calendars and have a back up at 18/7/12. I've restored Library/Calendars but the entries don't show up in iCal. I'm told I need to restore Library/Application Support/iCal folder, but it's not there.
I've created a current entry (in a new calendar) but still no Library/Application Support/iCal folder.
Should I be trying to create it manually, somehow I don't think so?
    Thanks for any help.

Choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu and provide ~/Library/Application Support/iWork/Keynote/Themes/ as the path.

  • Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible - yet no profile.ini file is missing (folder empty), clean reinstall has not not worked

I'm running windows 8 and had recently handed my computer back to be repaired. When I got my computer back I started getting the error that states that "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." upon opening.
I've had this before and just renamed the profile.ini file as something different forcing Firefox to create a new profile. However the profile.ini file is not there, at all.
Everything that I've searched for shows profile management through firefox, but I can't open firefox to create any profiles so they don't help at all.
    Does anyone know

This is usually caused by a problem with the profiles.ini file and the profile marked as Default=1 is no longer present on the hard drive.
    *Windows: "%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\"
    *Linux: ~/.mozilla/firefox/
    *Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/
*Delete the profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile
*Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile
*Use "Choose Folder" to recover an existing profile if there is still one present
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Managing+profiles
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
The "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and later Window 7+ versions and the "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K are hidden folders.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem.

  • Missing folder structure in zip file from Theme Editor

    Hi all gurus!
I have an interesting problem with this background: I want to change the customer brand image in the portal header and do som other modifications. For this reason I have made a copy of one of the standard portal themes, as I'm supposed to do, and I have downloaded that zip file from the portal.
When unzip this file i get the following files: its.zip, log.html, metadata.properties, portal.zip and upgrade.xml. As I have understood it that is the correct content. Now I'm supposed to unzip the file "portal.zip" and reach amongst other folders the one named "prtl". In this one there is a folder named "images" and under that one is "header" found and in THAT folder the change of picture is done.
Now for the problem: when I unzip "portal.zip" I just get the content of some property file, NO folders what so ever! If I try to unzip "its.zip" I can see the folder structure under that folder!
If I open the structure with Total Commander I can see the missing folders! But I can't do the copying of the image, the whole structre gets duplicated when I save! I thought the zip file was corrupt so I made another copy and downloaded it but with the same result!
Has anyone had the same problem???
    Best regards
    Benny Lange

Problem solved! By 7-zip. It was actually XP's integrated zip tool that just didn't show the underlaying structure. And Total Commander also did the work if used in the same way as 7-zip, but to edit the second level zip file directly did not work as TC opened that file in a temp directory instead of continuing at the level of the first zip file. That kind of editing directly in a file two zip levels down actually worked in TC 6.x but now I have 7.05 and perhaps things has changed.

    Hi
i know this sounds really weird but i am having a little trouble with my laptop.
after i did a disk cleanup, my hiberation icon went missing and i can't seem to locate it.
Also, i can't seem to locate my temporary folder to access the files that i downloaded.

    Pls help me?
    Thank you
    Yours Sincerely
    Melissa

Displaced icon mention it's your hibernate icon ?
If your Hibernate feature disable, hibernate icon will not shown in your shutdown menu/other.
You have to enable this feature by going control panel, under Power Option properties, than u can see tabs for hibernate, please enable in order to function.
The temporary folder i thing we not very concerned it because it's manage by Windows it's, but we can always clear the temporary file from time to time when necessary or u may set it to auto clean process.
Hope this can solve your displaced icon.
