I'm new in OracleAS portal, basic info

HI. I'm new in OracleAS, how do it configure the links of the tabs when I create them on a page??
Thanks

What do you mean by configuration of tabs? If you meant how to call them, then please use the following syntax to call your tabs:
To access the first tab on a page 'MyPage' in a pgGrp 'MyPageGroup', you would need the following URL:
hostname.domain/portal/page/portal/MyPageGroup/MyPage:MyFirstTab
To set attributes for tabs and also learn how to edit them, please see this link:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/portal.1014/b13809/lookfeel.htm#sthref1745
hope that helps!

    Hi there,
in Oracle we have a schema concept - All objects with segments are within the schema
Every schema can use one or more tablespaces
Each tablespace should have at least one datafile associated.
With that said, You can run this query to know where is your schemas:
    Select owner,tablespace_name,sum(bytes/1024/1024) MB from dba_segments group by owner,tablespace_name;
And to check the location of each tablespace:
    select tablespace_name,file_name from dba_data_files order by 1,2;
And to check all directories that have some file from the database

  • OC4J instance is down in Oracle Portal Server

    Hi all,
I am new to Oracle Portal 10g. In production environment the portal server component OC4J is automatically shutting down often and came back with few min's. Why it is happening?
The server.log file has below entry
    " 07:59:37 10.1.2.3.0 Stopped (Shutdown executed by jazn.com/admin from 127.0.0.1 (localhost.localdomain))
    13/02/13 08:04:24 10.1.2.3.0 Started
    13/02/13 08:04:29 10.1.2.3.0 Started "
    Please advice me on this.

    Hi,
The reason behind your error is because OC4J_BI_FORMS is being restarted repeatedly changing its status: Alive->Stop->Init->Alive.
Disable the restart parameter from opmn.xml for OC4J component or increase the timeout value. Details given in given below metalink document id:

  • Accessing ContentDB Webclient from Oracle Portal

    Hi All,
Is there a way to access ContentDB webclient from oracle portal application. We are new to oracle portals. Please let us know if anyone has idea about how to proceed on developing it to access ContentDB webclient.
    Thanks,

I could be completely wrong here, but I believe you may be able to write a PDK portlet that uses the Content DB API.
The path we are taking is using Webcenter with a JSF bridge and the Content DB (CDB) API. In JDeveloper, we have multiple samples of the ADF/JSF-CDB API functioning. We then moved on and have JHeadstart producing the ADF/JSF; which in turn uses the CDB API. We are currently testing deployment.
Our next step will be to link it with Webcenter and we will have should then have our portlet.
    Hope that helps.

  • Oracle Portal 11g - New Installation

    Hello,
I have worked a lot of with IAS 10.1.2.3. Now I want to install Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.6.0). But I need the Portal for my old applications.
I have found the document 1364497.1 "New Direction for Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g with Single Sign-On 10g". In the document is a section "Oracle Portal 11g - New Installation" from 23-MAY-2012. This describe in Part 1 that I have to install the Infrasturcture of Oracle Identity Management 10g (10.1.4.0.1) . But I can't find the needed sources in the given donlaod path (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/101401-099957.html).
I found only Oracle Identity Management 10g (10.1.4.3). This version seems to me does not have an Infrasturcture.
I don't know which sources I have to download to install the temporary needed Infrasturcture. Can anybody help to find the right sources?
    Thanks,
    Frank

    Hi Frank,
I'd prefer to get the document published first. Also a few comments with regards to the OAM installation path.
    The benefits are :
<li>You will be using OAM straight from the beginning, no SSO in the picture
<li>You can install Oracle Portal with an 11g OID instead of a 10g OID (which you would get when installing IDM 10.1.4)
<li>You can use an 11.2 database for both the Portal and OID repository. With IDM 10.1.4 you are restricted to an 10.1 or 10.2 database as the installer does not support 11g.
There are some drawbacks as well :
<li>There will be no DAS solution (oiddas). Both User/Group creation should be done with different tools (ldif files, dbms_ldap API, provisioning from a 3rd party LDAP server) as well as User and Group LOVs in the access tabs of several Portal components won't work. You can still enter the name of the user and group in the input field to grant privileges
<li>The seeded login portlet does not work
    Thanks,
    EJ

  • Install and config issues with Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer

For a while now I've been struggling with migrating a testing database to a newer version.
And right now I'm pretty much stuck at trying to configure Oracle Portal, Forms Reports and Discoverer
    What I've got:
    Windows server 2008 R2 64bit
    Oracle 11g database
    Java 6u27 64bit
JDK 1.6 64bit (using this after 1.7 ended up throwing out bugs while trying to start a weblogic server)
    JDK 1.7 64bit
Weblogic 10.3.5 (or so i think - I've installed from the wls1035_generic.jar from the oracle website)
PFRD 11.1.1.2 with 11.1.1.3 installed over it, installed without config
    and a hanging up configuration
Basically I've been trying to install PFRD (only forms, reports and enterprise manager from it actually) but it kept failing once it got to the configuration stage, so I installed without config, applied 11.1.1.3 and now trying to run the config manually with the good old \bin\config.bat
Result - the config froze for approx.18 hours then failed
There isn't much useful info I could deduct from the logs, mostly just says one or more configuration parts failed. At one place it mentions trying to set up a domain and starting up an adminserver for it - and apparently that's where it hangs up and finally times out and fails.
I'm a little clueless what to do about it as the logs don't say anything else of use I could understand. Any ideas there?

Trying the step by step, the only difference between that and what i do seems to be the file copying (which I can't do - there is no windows\extra\ directory anywhere, the files mentionned seem to already be on their places and either only there, or exactly the same) and clistering
So far the news ain't good - the config process hangs on creating domain ->Step Creating Domain started
It isn't frozen per se - the process doesn't use up any processor time, memory consumption within bounds, it reacts to button clicks and all..it just doesn't do anything concerning the said domain
the last thing the .out file shows:
Creating a new AdminServer Object ...
    AdminServer port is 7002
    Starting the domain ...
LOADING DLL : E:\OracleDb\Middleware\develtools\install\config\\StartUtil64.dlland in the log:

does that clear up anything for you though?
..can the lack of SOA suite have anything to do with the problem?
