I'm new to Illustrator....How to trace a picture??

Hello:
I am wanting to import just a regular picture <jpeg> and then trace around a particular image in that picture, and then be able to use it for different purposes and sizes. I'll probably use the image as a sillouette.
Do I have to trace it or is there another way??

The very best way is to manually trace it with the pen toll read about the pen tool and the use of the anchor points to redefine the shape you create.
You can use the zoom tool to zoom in very close for fine tuning and there are keyboard shortucuts as well to help you access features of the pen tool and to zoom in nd out.
There is also a Live Trace feature which could work for you it is look good to the eye but when zoomed in it might not be precision enough or simply enough for your needs. However if you explore the live trace feature and learn how to adjust the setting you can come up with very acceptable results but it takes some time and experiment to understand the settings.
But it takes time to learn the settings, I do not know of any of the contributors here that seem to understand the feature so they just diss it.
I do admit it i difficult to learn and I do not myself understand all the settings there are some presets to help you learn the differences.
The best way is the pen tool. It will not effect the placed image which can be deleted after the tracing and the resulting path can be filled or stroked or both and can be filled with a patten or used to mask an image or other vector art.

Though this question is related to SAP XI and SMICM trace, I feel this question can also be answered by people in WebAs General, so i am posting this in this forum.
In my current scenario where SAP XI system pushes data to another system(ABC system) using HTTPS connection. I have set up an RFC destination of Type G to connect to the external system.
When i do a Test connection, i see in SMICM log file, i found that connection established, request message written into ABC system.When response is being written i could find BINDUMP of content denied in the SMICM log file. What does that exactly mean..?
Also When i contacted the other party--ABC, they have told that they could not see any messages in their system.
XI shows successfully processed and ABC system did not receive the message... So where did the data go?? I have no clue :-(( Need your inputs in this regard. How to trace if the message has been successfully posted by XI. Below is the SMICM log file.

New to illustrator, looking for help

I'm new to illustrator (3) and would like to make kayak station molds and outlines using a table of numbers (offsets). Can anyone help me on how to do this ?
I found this image on the net, i'm also using a laptop.

That can easily be done in Illustrator. There is nothing about it that would require CAD software. Just use ordinary drafting techniques.
The sections could be drawn full scale, so no need to manually workaround Illustrator's (infuriating) lack of user-defined rulers. Simply set your grid to correspond to the ruler units you want to use (the ft or centimenter offsets). Zero your rulers to the Artboard origin. Measure your offsets from the left and bottom edges of the Artboard. The exact steps could be any of many different procedures. For example:
Rectangle Tool: Click (don't drag). Enter overall height and width of a section.
Transform palette: Select its left bottom corner as the reference in the 9-point proxy icon. Enter x and y values for vertical and horizontal offsets. That rectangle is now the "bounding box" of your section shape.
Similar simple operations can be used involving the Line tool, to numerically position direct-selected anchorpoints, whatever. You only have a few values in the tables, so this would not take long to do manually. If it were more involved, a script could be written to draw the whole thing programmatically, but I hardly see the need for that in this. I dare say many home builders of kayaks and sailboats use nothing more elaborate than a program like Illustator to make their working drawings and patterns.
The profiles could be drawn to a convenient scale (half, quarter, etc.) and even projected to flats using ordinary drafting techniques in Illustator.
To help you further would require my speaking with you in more detail about what you actually have, where you are in the process, what exactly you need to draw, etc.--Not practical in an online forum. You just need a general understanding of working in Illustrator. Then, if you have a basic understanding of 2D drafting, you'd know how to do this in Illustrator.
I see nothing particularly challenging about it, and would not hesitate to draw it in Illustrator. (Except that, since I have them available, I'd use any other drawing program that provides the basic conveniences of user-defined rulers, callouts, and dimension tools. That would include Draw, Canvas, Corel Designer and others.) But again: This is a simple project, and could even be done in Illustrator, and just as accurately (for all practical purposes) as in a CAD program.

How to trace other user's session?

I would like to trace other user's session, I am on Oracle 10g R2 (10.2.0.4) on a Windows box. I did search on google and found tons of articles explaining about tracing techniques. But unfortunately, trace file is not getting generated in my case. Below are the steps I am following:

You must be using shared server.
You can verify this by referring to the SERVER column of v$session.
In shared server several servers will execute your code, so that's why you don't find a trace file.

How to trace particular path in portal

Hello,
I would like to know how to trace a particular path in sap portal for instance I would like to see the portal activity report and i suppose it gets saved at location - com.sap.portal.activityreport.frontend ...so how do i find this path in the portal?
Search seems to be a little difficult for me at times when iam unsure of what object am looking at( i.e. whether it is a an iview, workset, role etc )
So also I would like to know when we customize a particular theme it gets stored in the portal_content/themes folder.
However the theme is visible only when we go to portal display-under desktop and display rules-portal content-themes.
Why is it not directly visible in the pcd?

I am new to EP so also could you just tell me dat when a certain object for instance say when i download the portal activity report a certain file viz; "com.sap.portal.activityreport.frontend" got saved.
Now from what i have understood is that com.sap.portal.activityreport.frontend represents the path to frontend which probably could be any object .
Could you just confirm that is my understanding of how portal works correct or clouded.
I have seen com.sap.portal being used as a prefix for many objects.
So is this some sort of a path or just a norm to be followed for certain objects.
Could you just provide me with certain links for better understanding.

i need an advice on how to trace very long PLSQL as iam new to my company and the business is very new to me , i am a very good developer using Developer suite , but my weak point is tracing very long packages and undestand them ,
i want to trace a Procedure that have a LOT of lines of code and it calls many other packages, i really need to be quick in undestading what this procedre is doing as i should solve my problem in appropriate time
i am using dbms_output.put_line for tracing, to know what is the path that is taken and the variable values but i think i need a totaly different approach
also there are some sqls in this system that is very long, some of them is joining more than 10 tables at the same time, any hint to understand what this sql is doing?

There is a trace facility for PL/SQL, but if you use it find a GUI interface. Trying to get it to work in SQL*PLUS standalone was painful. I think its supported by the major GUI tools like TOAD and PL/SQL developer but have not used it myself.
Other tools you can work with to help you debug and tune PL/SQL include Oracle trace (which analyzes SQL for efficiency, with an interpreter called tkprof) and DBMS_PROFILER. DBMS_PROFILER requires some initial set-up but can analyze PL/SQL code line by line and if used carefully function as a sort of limited trace.

How to trace phoneCallChanged-tests?

Im trying to extend the IciEventService -> phoneCallChanged-transaction to send additional data to the Webclient to identify the client.
Im using the wsnavigator-testpages to test the events which works so far, just my problem is I dont know how to trace them and how to check what and if it is transmitted.
If I do a test call via the simulator I can see the actions in CRM_ICI_TRACE, but not what is send manually even its same data.

It can't find the class then:
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.sun.javafx.pgstub.StubToolkit
Do I need any further classes or settings? I am using JDK 8 b103.

which is a little confusing to me as a non-Oracle employee.
Can somebody elaborate on the current state of how to do Automated testing or what we can expect for JavaFX 8?

How to trace the missing authorizations using NWBC at object level

Hi all,
In SAP R/3 any authorization issue can be tracked down till authorization object level using SU53 tcode and ST01 tcode.
1 - I have a super user who has all the roles in Solution manager system and test user which I created with just 1 role Incident management role. But when I login with Super user ID I can see in tcode (WDY_APPLICATION - Incident Management ) I have 4 tabs (Overview,Messages,Reports and Queries) but when I execute the same tcode using test ID I can only see Overview and Messages tab. Report and Query tab were missing . Please advice on how to trace the missing authorizations using NWBC at object level? or how to solve this issue......
2 - How to add a Web dynpro Transaction code (example WDY_APPLICATION - Incident Management )while building a role in PFCG?

Okay so I figured out the solution by reading other discussions. Basically you need to delete on your phone the icloud account and start up a new icloud account with a new email address. This is nice because you can still share apps without getting everyone elses things. The only thing that didn't get worked out was the notes...
On your phone go to settings and then icloud, scroll down and delete the account. Then just make a new icloud under a new email.
