You transfer data with wires.
Frankly, I'm a little confused by your question. I can't think of any reason why you would want to pass serial parameters (i.e. baud rate, parity) to a GPIB instrument. Please explain with further detail and attach the code.

How do we pass data from a form guide to another form(not necessarily a guide) without having to open the form. For example we have a small form guide to capture the contract id so we can then get data from contracts table to present to the user in a form. We want the user to open the guide (either Flex guide or form guide) to enter the contract id. Upon submission we want the process to get the contract data and put it into the form that will be opened at the next step by the user without having a user interact with the form to get the data into it. In other words we need the process to get the data and populate a different form than the form guide the contract id was entered in and this new form needs to be opened in the next step by the user.
Firstly, I'm assuming that you have a Forms ES Server if you are rendering a Guide. This could be either version ES1, ES2/2.5 or ES3/ADEP
If you submit the form back to the server, you can populate a second (PDF/XDP) form with the data bound to the same schema/Data Model using Forms ES.
You referred to the next user in the chain - If you are using Process Management, this is very easy, as you define what form is used to render the data in the "Presentation & Data" section of the Assign Task activity -

That's the easiest way, this side of using Time Machine. The time it takes to transfer files between our computers ka vary but while doing it on my MBP I had to leave it plugged in for near 24 hours and it was supposed to take 3.

I am modifying the teststand OI (CVI) that the User Interface include the serial number entry. I use UIMessage to notify OI to get user input, however I could not find a way to pass the serial number (pass as string) to TestStand Engine. please help.

For your specific purposes, the best approach would be to modify the PreUUT callback sequence inside of the model, that has the code to display the serial number dialog. You could add your custom code inside of this callback to display your custom dialog, and then write the value back to Parameters.UUT.SerialNumber. Once you have populated this variable, you can then call PostUIMessageEx to post the value of the serial number dialog to the OI. Now you have the value inside of the model, as well as inside of the OI. Let me know if this helps.

I have a component A (parent) in which i am usuing an other component B (child) . From the parent component i am able to pass data to the child component by using one of the child's interface node but when i try to use one of the parents interface nodes to pass data from the child to the parent component i am unable to pass data as required .
Please tell me where i am going wrong.

There are so many things wrong with this VI, I'm not even sure where to start.
Hard-coding paths that point to your user folder on the block diagram. What if somebody else tries to run it? They'll get an error. What if somebody tries to run this on Windows 7? They'll get an error. What if somebody tries to run this on a Mac or Linux? They'll get an error.
Not using Read From Spreadsheet File.
Use of local variables to populate an array.
Cannot insert values into an empty array.
What if there's a line missing from the text file? Now your data will not line up. Your case structure does handle this.

If your "older" MBA has a Thunderbolt port then it isn't that old. See Target Disk Mode about how it's used. Note that without a monitor you won't be able to tell from the screen when it has fully started, and if it succeeded in starting in TDM. If it did, then the hard drive should appear on the Desktop of your new computer. You can then access it to transfer your files. You can even use Migration Assistant or any backup utility to transfer data. Just don't try to transfer system files.

It is generally better to leave the old backups and start again.. unless there is something you particularly need.
But if you desperately want all the old backups you have to copy the sparse bundles.. this will take very long time as it must copy via the computer..

I have a jFrame were I promt users to keep a list of Names in a jTable. (I keep data for something else, but lets say names.. ) Anyway, afterwords I want to add some extra parameters for each name. So I created a new frame, which is opened when user press an Edit button. The new frame opens and users can add for the specific name some extra data, like age, height, color, sex.. etc. that characterizes this person.
On this second form i have a save button, which when its pressed i would like to keep this information for this name, so as when user press edit again from the first frame on the same Name the data that previously entered will be loaded (lets say that the user can not enter the say name again)
I haven' t figured the code for the save Button, but with the rest I am fine.
Can you give any ideas with structures that I have to use and how the action listener will have to be??

MathScript Window openned, File, Load Data - it has options: custom pattern (*.mlv) or all files.

Prior to loading data in Mathscript Window , you have to save the data from the Mathscript window (the default extension of the file is .mlv but you can choose any extension). This means that you cannot load data from a text file that was not created using the Mathscript window.

Drag & Drop its as simple as that click on the file/folder keep it pressed down & move the file/folder to where you want it on your Mac
If its photo's drag them onto the iPhoto icon on the dock if its music drag it onto the iTunes icon documents into guess what documents
