I'm not conversation host anymore!
I had made a group chat a while ago, adding EVERYONE, so I was the only MASTER. But recently, a person from my group has changed himself to conversation host.
It showed this message: "(skypename) has been promoted to conversation host."
Now he is the MASTER of the conversation, and I have been demoted to a SPEAKER of the group.
I looked at /showmembers, and it showed that the person above and another person in the group is shown as ADMIN. He's been abusing his power as MASTER by kicking people out of the group, so I want to become the conversation host again!
Is that possible?
The MASTER role is a group -moderator- role, not the group -creator- role, which is ADMIN. The only way to have power back is for the ADMIN to grant you that power. Alternatively, create a new group.

Web.show_document does not open browser anymore
We upgraded our production database over the weekend from 10g to 11g. When it was still 10g, our Forms application used to open a PDF embedded in IE. After moving to 11g, it does not open IE anymore and shows no error messages. Clicking the button with the web.show_document command does nothing. Our test database is also 11g but does not have this problem. What could have gotten wrong?
I can't explain why it seems to started failing all of a sudden. We often hear comments like this only to later discover that either someone else made changes of which you are unaware or possbily a software update occurred automatically. For example, the JRE version may have been auto-updated.
As for recoding in an alternative fashion, it will be difficult for me to say specifically because I don't know the app nor do I know your needs. The biggest, and it isn't all that big, deal will be to identify from where the pdf being opened comes from. In other words, does it already exist on the client machine or is it downloaded to the client from the/a server? Also important to know is whether or not the file name is known or not.
So, if you want to change the code, first figure out how you want the application to complete the task. Here are my suggestions:
Suggestion 1.

My mac mail will not search mail anymore and doesn't load attachments most of the time. When I enter some text in the search box no results come up and I know there are messages that contain the phrase that I've entered.
Also about 3 weeks ago attachments only get loaded about 1/4 of the way - if that. So I have to log onto my web based mail program from the host and retrieve attachements or check the messgae with my iphone.
Please - does anyone know how to fix this?I figureed out that spotlight was turned off via terminal - I shut it off to unmount a disk (which didn't work anyways)
sudo mdutil -a -i on
that's the termianl command to turn spotlight back on. As far as my attachments not fully loading in mac mail on my iMac that still baffles me. -

I can NOT take the continual freeze ups of my entire browser even worse when updating a page let alone just opening email. I closed the browser and have had to use even just microsoft or Google since this Firefox has gotten so horrible...
I clear my history and my cache so many times a day I can not keep track anymore and that is insane to have to do it as many times as I am even worse that it does not help in the least!
I have used Firefox for years now but if I have to remove it and switch to a different one by the days end I will and I will post in Facebook to all my friends who I had switch to Firefox what and why though some have already just switched to other browsers.First, that cannot be an iBook G4 as that machine cannot run Snow Leopard let alone Mountain Lion. To run Snow Leopard it has to be an Intel processor, not a G4. What does it show as the Model Identifier in About This Mac, More Info, System Report, Hardware, Model Identifier?
Second, if you have erased the hard drive there should not be remnants of any prior content. Even though Disk Warrior is saying nothing is wrong with the hard drive, it sounds as though there are problems. You may want to consider simply replacing the hard drive so there are no questions about faults. A good source is OWC, http://www.macsales.com where they also have on-line videos showing how to do the replacement.
Third, you could also try again to restart using the Snow Leopard DVD/CD and use Disk Utility on that install disk to erase again, and do it a couple times, then try to install. If it continues to refuse, then it sounds as though there is a fault with the hard drive. -

from the information you provided i can't tell if it is a hardware problem or a software problem. I do have an idea though, try to press your home button and lock button at the same time.

Have Ipod Touch 2nd Gen. 64 gig. I noticed that my music will not play alphabetically anymore. Don't know exactly when this occured. I checked all my settings so doesn't seem to be that.Apple no longer is upgrading this unit..I use windows XP but don't believe this is an issue since i have read posts saying this is not the problem..right now am converting my higher bit rate music to see if that changes anything. I also turned off my unit and the next thing am going to do is a restore if this doesn't work. Anyone find a fix for this yet? I also see that this is not a unique problem to Gen 2 units and is occuring on newer units as well..thank you all for any advise...

I had purchased an audio book from itunes on my iPad and when I synced my iPad with my computer, my audiobook disappeared. I have already purchased this audiobook, so now I just need to know how to get it back because it is not on iPad anymore. If you purchased it on your ipad, then you would have to transfer it to your computer. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.

Backlight does not turn on anymore Satellite M70-147

The backlight of my M-series M70-147 does not turn on anymore.
I first noticed this when awakening the laptop from standby or hibernation mode.
At first I thought the screen was not working anymore, but when I looked closely I could still make out the icons on the desktop vaguely. So at first I rebooted the laptop and then most of the times the backlight would turn on and stay on.
But now it does not do that anymore, not even when I close the screen (to force standby mode) and then open it again, the backlight won't turn on.
I also looked at other forums and topics what the cause might be, a broken backlight or a faulty power inverter.
So can anybody with the symptons described tell me what the cause might be?
I'm pretty sure nothing is wrong with the graphics card because when I hooked on my laptop to my dads LCD monitor it just displayed the desktop of my laptop on the LCD monitor. Also the first time I did this after pressing Fn-F5 a few times the screen of my laptop would come on some times. But now it does not do that anymore.
So can anybody with the symptons described tell me what the cause might be?

For me it looks like a faulty FL inverter.
The FL inverter is a small part behind the display frame and it controls the backlight.
Usually the external display should work properly because the FL inverter affects the internal display only...
However, the issue can be solved only by replacement of this part.
I recommend contacting the Toshiba ASP in your country to get this part replaced -

Nothing has been converted. You first need to convince yourself of this.
Start Adobe Reader (or Adobe Acrobat, if you have it). Use Open from the File menu. Pick one of your PDF files. Does it open OK? If not, what happens?
