Just let the images wash over you as you wait for that mythical Logic update; dual-cores, quad cores, intel's, tiny ipods, smaller ipods, teenie video ipod's, itune's updates, podcasts, Final Cut Studio Pack, etc, etc.

    My Center button on my Ipod 3rd generation is not working? What do i do it still goes up and down just doesnt select anything.

    What I had to was backup my device's data to either iCloud or iTunes. Once it was backed up I erased all of my settings as if my iPad just came out of the box. You set it up again and it will asked you to either start as new, back up from iTunes, or back up from ICloud. If you want to see if everything works you can set up as new, otherwise just pick the choice depending on where you backed up your information. Eventually it will restore all of your information and your iMessage and FaceTime should be working. It worked for me, if you'd like more/better instructions let me know!!

  • When do you all think or do you all know of a NEW Macbook coming?

    I think that there is one coming soon, because they just came out with the new imac, macbook and mini. And I don't want to purchase one now and the new one comes out in the next week????

    Nobody wants to buy something and then have a newer, sexier, faster, cheaper model come out shortly afterwards as it makes us feel a bit cheated/stupid. However, buying a notebook is something that should be done by considering your needs and budget and then looking around for the hardware that will best meet them. Some might say a new Windows 7 laptop fits their bill while others would select a Mac product but at the end of the day it's all a very personal decision about perceived value and 'fit'. We could speculate here about when the next Mac notebook will come out but that would be against the Terms and the post(s) would be deleted pretty quickly. Other sites (like the link below) often 'speculate' about when things may or may not appear and they might be valid. From all the news articles lately it seems more likely Apple could bring out something quite new and revolutionary in the near future but whether that would impact upon your purchasing decision or not I just can't say ...

  • Uh oh.  I installed MacKeeper before I saw the warning posts. I purchased the $38.00 version, but if what you all say is true,I want to get rid of it. So I lose $38.00. I'm a computer idiot. Please tell me what I should do.    Please tell me what

    Uh oh.  I installed MacKeeper before I saw all of your warning posts. I only purchased the basic program--it was on sale for $38. and change.  I'd rather be safe than sorry, so I'll go ahead and take a loss on the 38 bucks. But I need someone to tell me how to get rid of it (I am a computer moron, so please use very simple language, like you would for a kindergartner).  Many thanks.

    Removal is simple.
    If you used MacKeeper to encrypt any files, un-encrypt them first.
    Quit MacKeeper.
    Drag the MacKeeper icon from the Applications folder (not the Dock) to the Trash.
    You will see this dialog box:
    Type your Password and click OK.
    You will then see this dialog box:
    You do not need to provide a reason.
    Click the "Uninstall MacKeeper" button. You will need to authenticate again (first screenshot).
    That's all there is to it. All of MacKeeper's pieces will be gone, except for a log file that is inert and can be ignored.

  • Why do the site identity buttons not look like what you are showing on the information page?

    Just read the email about security from Firefox. I do have the identity button show up in a color, but I do not get the passport officer, nor do I get the information in the drop-down window. All I get is "Verified by: ... or "This site does not supply identity information."

    On Windows, you can switch between a classic menu bar and a compact menu opened with an orange button with the word Firefox.
    You can switch between these using one of these methods:
    * right-click a blank area of the tab bar and turn Menu Bar on or off
    * View menu > Toolbars > Menu Bar
    * orange Firefox button > Options triangle > Menu Bar
    Does that help?
    To get to the tab preferences, you can do this:
    orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Tabs
    To remove the Ask toolbar, you can go here:
    orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category
    You might still have to do a little cleanup after removing an extension, if it changed your home page, new tab page, search provider, etc. Please describe any remaining problems in more detail.
    Hope this helps.

  • Saving links... not what you're thinking

    Here's what i want to do. I have a site similar to something like http://www.apple.com/pro/tips/ I want to save the contents of every link on this page to either a number of pdfs, or a single pdf so that i can view offline and potentially print. The information must be independent of an Internet connection. is there an app or a way to do this without opening every stupid link???

    No, there is no such application to do that. The only way to accomplish this is to visit every link and save it as a PDF file to your system.

  • How To Reset a Form (Not as easy as you would think)?

    Hi All,
    I'm unable to get a form to reset its value when using a commandButton that has immediate set to true.
    I've got a simple little jsf page that has a form and a datatable. The form is bound to an object in a class I'm using to handle the view, the datatable is bound to a dataModel from the same handler class. The functionality I have is quite simple:
    a user clicks on a commandLink in a row of the datatable
    the corresponding object is loaded into a "currentObject" property of the handler class
    the form fields are mapped to the "currentObject" property of the handler.
    The user may update or reset the form.
    The goal is to have the reset commandButton set the "currentObject" property of the handler class to null (or a new, unpopulated object) so that the fields of the form are set to blank again on render. This works fine as long as I don't use immediate="true". When I do use the immediate=true attribute, the "currentObject" variable is, indeed, set to null, but the form still renders with the old "currentObject" values in it!!
    I have to use immediate="true" because there is validation going on for the form that I want to avoid.
    If I use a commandButton type="reset", the fields are not cleared because the reset functionality of the browser (ie6 and firefox) resets the fields to the values they were at the time the form was displayed--the very values I wish to totally remove!
    This seems like such a common, simple thing to do. What am I missing?
    Thanks,
    John

    I have a similiar problem, and maybe putting buttons in a different form is the answer:
    I have a page with a selectOneListbox on the left, and a set of inputs on the right. The listbox represents the available beans to select, and the set of inputs contains all the editable fields for the beans. Basically this is just a bean editor.
    There is a command Button beneath the listbox for viewing a bean. When this button is clicked, the set of inputs are populated with that bean's data.
    There is also a command button beneath the set of inputs that allows the user to save their changes.
    All of these elements are in the same form tag.
    JSF jsp:
    <f:view>
      <h:form>
        <h:panelGrid columns="2">
          <h:panelGrid columns="2">
            <h:selectOneListbox size="10" value="#{editor.selectedBean}" >
              <f: selectItems value="#{editor.beanSelectItemCollection}" />
            </h:selectOneListbox>
            <h:commandButton actionListener="#{editor.view}" value="View" />
          </h:panelGrid>
          <h:panelGrid  columns="2">
            <h:inputText value="#{editor.editingBean.property}" />
            <h:commandButton actionListener="#{editor.save}" value="Save" />
          </h:panelGrid>
        </h:panelGrid>
      </h:form>
    </f:view>Editor bean:
    public class Editor {
      // use a blank bean as default
      // so the editor is populated with blanks
      private Bean editingBean = new Bean();
      // don't initially select any beans
      private Bean selectedBean = null;
      private Map beans = new HashMap();
      public Editor() {
      public void save(ActionEvent e) {
        beans.put(editingBean.getId(), editingBean);
      public void view (ActionEvent e) {
        editingBean = (Bean)selectedBean.clone();
      // getters and setters
      public Bean getEditingBean() {
        return editingBean;
      public void setEditingBean(Bean b) {
        editingBean = b;
      public Bean getSelectedBean() {
        return selectedBean;
      public void setSelectedBean(Bean b) {
        selectedBean = b;
      // before entering the JSP for this bean, this method should be called
      // to populate the editor
      public void setBeans(Collection c) {
        beans.clear();
        for (Iterator i = c.iterator(); i.hasNext(); ) {
          Bean b = (Bean)i.next();
          beans.put(b.getId(), b);
      public Collection getBeans() {
        return beans.values();
      public Collection getBeanSelectItemCollection() {
        Collection items = new ArrayList(beans.size());
        for (Iterator i = beans.values().iterator(); i.hasNext(); ) {
          items.add(new SelectItem(bean, bean.getProperty());
        return items;
    }Here comes the problem:
    If I want to set fields as required or use any of the JSF validation functionality, my view usecase breaks. This happens if the user views bean1 changes some data to be invalid/not existant and then tries to view bean2. If they don't click the save button, validation/required should not be checked. My initial thought is that I should be able to set my view button and view listbox to be immediate. This does properly update the view listbox, but then if I change the values in the backing bean for the set of inputs, those changes are never updated to the screen, and the set of inputs is still populated with bean1's data even though the backing bean for all those inputs is now bean2.
    It appears that the view never requeries the backing bean when responseComplete() is called (which happens with an immediate command). Is this a bug in faces, or is this how the spec says it is supposed to behave? If this is the correct behavior what is a better practice to acheieve my usecase?
    My current workaround is to ignore faces validation and manually validate when the user clicks the save command, and then manually set the messages for the bad components. Obviously, this is not an ideal solution, but I was hoping that this faces behavior was incorrect and thus my solution would be temporary.
    I'm not tied to a specific solution, but I am discouraged that Adam says in order to reset the set of inputs, we have to manually update the model during the apply request values phase.

  • Lumia Lust, anyone? What you guys think of WP8?

    I guess one can say that anyone using a E-Series Nokia is excercising their choice. No need to (vast) list of good things these phones offer.
    Even though my E6 has served me well, I started to consider upgrading to a new Lumia 920, mainly because of the 4G network speed and maybe the screensize, E6 is way too small.
    At the same time, I am a bit concerned about WP8 and how it actually performs.
    Any E6 user considered the upgrade? Any opnions on the new Lumia 920?
    Thanks in advance,
    BB

    BB,
    I am a current E6 user and in a nutshell, I was enamored with the Lumia 920 too.  But, after spending about an hour playing with it and discovering that many functions were no longer present from previous Nokias (e series), I decided it's not for me. There may be apps in the App Store that would replace the functions that are no longer there but I don't want to spend a whole lot of money to discover the apps don't exist.
    This is just a list of deal breakers for me (just my opinion too):
    No GPS Data editor: This is my most important "gotta have" function. I have an old E71 that had the best GPS Data apps.  The E6 I had originally didn't have a GPS data editor but I found something that worked in Nokia Store. After upgrading to Belle, that app no longer was compatible and there is no other for the E6.
    No Keyboard:  Although the virtual keyboard one the Lumia 920 is very good, it will never replace a real keyboard.
    OS:  If I am going to have to make a switch, WP8 is a good switch. But, I really like Symbian and the way things are structured within the OS.
    Data Speed:  I am on T-Mobile so the Lumia 920 will only do EDGE speeds. Plus, AT&T won't sell them outright without a contract at this time.  At least that's what they told me.  I am guessing you are with AT&T so data speeds shouldn't be a problem for you.
    The bottom line for me is I will be moving on from Nokia entirely.  This may seem a little dramatic but I really feel let down by Nokia at this point. I was always bragging about what my E71 could do compared to iPhone users. The fact that I had a powerful GPS tool was so important since I travel. The E6 brought many improvements but was also a step backwards in many cases from the E71.  I was able to make the E6 funtion as my E71 did but then Belle came along.  My E6 on Belle will no longer do what I mainly wanted it to do.  The Lumia 920 doesn't bring back any of the lost functions and is in fact another step backward in many respects, for me at least.  As is the case with anything, my comments are strickly my opinion and relate to how I use(d) my E71 and E6.

  • What ya all think of reserve met auctions ?

    When a $25 Verizon gift card goes for 30K  ++ points .... If verizon had a reserve met and all the bidders who were bidding that high  met let's say a 30k reserve. We as bidders would not know what the reserve was.
    All of the bidders who met the reserve got the card, and spent 30k for example (Reserve)  The winner of course would still spend the winning points. Maybe this would bring the auctions into line, and perhaps alter the odds of Ohio staying in the 70% + win an auction ratio.@

    Hey Guys, ere are some more answers. The reason i have 1.5 GB is i am running 2x256 MB Micron Ram which can run up to 450 MHZ . If i add the other 2x512 MB whcih are some no name brand then i am bound to 400 MHZ. Doesn't matter to me really. When benching in Sandra i still get 5500 MB\s bandwidth. The P4 is cooled by the thermaltake Aquarius II Liquid cooling kit. Before i got it for christmas i was running Thermaltake Spark7 and was getting 3.54 GHZ AIR COOLED. The proc now when running UT 2003 @ 3.6 GHZ goes to 50 degrees celsius under load, whne idle it runs around 37 celsius.  A lot of people don't like the aquarius kit, but in my case it works fairly well and i have always been impressed with thermaltake products. And after purchasing this board i am also a very happy MSI customer. The power supply is a 465 watt dual fan PSU. The PSU is all cut to custom length wires. If ya guys want i can add some pics if ya want. Have a blue chenming case, HP DVD 400i 8x Burner, Yamaha 44x Burner , Logitech Cordless MX Duo, Antec Lansing 5100's ( Love em ) . My last Benchie on 3d Mark 2001 i scored 20507. Oh btw the ram is not ver agreesively timed. I just have it set to SPD and set to Ultra Turbo to achieve PAT. My ram just won't handle CL2 , so it just runs at CL2.5. Can't be bothered. System runs rock solid . Raid Array in my opinion is very impressive.
