I'm not receiving texts from other iphones. Help?

My text messaging is acting weird--I receive all of them except any from other iPhone users. Needless to say, this is very inconvenient. I don't know what happened, cause I've had the phone for a few months now, but hadn't had any issues until the last couple weeks. As far as I can remember, I haven't changed any settings or anything. Anyone have any ideas?

That was a asinine and catty response. I and many others have the same problem. turning off imessage is not an effective solution. I have turned off imessage, deactivated the phone with apple and wiped the phone clean. the problem persists.

I cannot receive texts from certain people in my contact list. My imessaging is turned off and when I go to turn it on says "waiting on activation" so I attempt to sign in with my apple ID and password and it says please check your network connection. Its been doing this for days. It doesnt matter where I am, how many bars I have or if I'm connected to Wifi.
I am PRAYING someone can help me here since even the store cant.
If I dont get this figured out, I'll have no other choice but to uprade to Samsung.
Also since updating to the dreaded ios7 I cannot use Snapchat, and myinstagram and facebook do not integrate together.

If they are receiving that error message, it corrected and you are deregistered from iMessage

I am having trouble receiving texts from other iphone users since I updated my software to IOS7. Also I am unable to get i messenger to work, it keeps saying waiting for authorization. I am wondering if anyone else is having these issues and what I can do to fix it.

My daughter has an iphone 4S and just called from college, she can't receive texts from other iphone users anymore. Worked fine until yesterday. She can receive texts from me, but I have a droid. Any idea if this is a Verizon problem or something wrong with her phone?

It appears you have moved from an iPhone to an android phone. The problem you are having is because you did not deactivate your iMessage service before leaving.
If you still have your iPhone, you can re-activate it and then
turn on iMessage in the settings
uncheck your email and phone number
turn off iMessage
Settings>Messages
If you don't have your phone or don't want to go thru the hassle of reactivating it, you can simply call Apple at 800-694-7466 and ask them to turn off your iMessage.

Why doen't iphone receive texts from other iphones.

I have recently bought iphone 5C for the first time, I have had an ipad for a long time which I use for imessages through wifi.   I thought that when I am out and about away from wifi I would receive sms/text from other iphones like I had with my previous basic mobile, but this doesn't happen, although I can send texts to other iphones. Also when I return to a wifi area imessage that have been picked up by my ipad then don't appear on my iphone. When both the iphone and ipad are using wifi when an imesssage is received the message appears on both devices. Is this usual as I would like to receive texts from other iphones as it could be important.

Is iMessage turned on your phone?    It doesn't sound like it.
I would disable iMessage on BOTH your iPad and iPhone.   Enable it on iPhone first, then iPad 2nd.
Try again and let us know if it's working properly.

I just got my Iphone this Saturday, before I updated it to 7.0.3 I could send and receive texts from other iphone users, now that it's upgraded I can't receive texts from other iphone users unless connect to 3G/LTE or wifi. Please help.

Thunderbolt Not Receiving Texts From Other Carriers

I installed the official firmware release on June 15, 2011. Since then my phone spontaneouly reboots more than ever and I am completelu unable to receive texts from other carriers (T-Mobile, AT&T, ect). I am able to send messages out only. I have rebooted the phone (when it's not doing it all by itself) and tried the *228, Option 2 to update the PRL. No change. Is there any fix for this?

I believe you'll have to take it to a Verizon store, as the *228 method ruins the SIM card for the Thunderbolt

Why can't my Iphone 4s receive texts from other iphone users?

I got my phone maybe 2 weeks ago and had no problem sending or receiving text messages. For the past 2 days, i have not been able to receive text messages from other iPhone users. My texts go through just fine but I never get a response back until they call and are like "well what do you think about blah blah?" But I have sent and rec'd text messages from people with other devices. What is going on?

Oh my! Let's ensure these text messages are flying both in and out of your device. I would suggest completing the newest iOS 7.0.3 update. Once this has been completed I would suggest retesting. Settings > Software update
You may also test with iMessage off. This will send messages to and from iPhone's as a regular text message. Settings > Messages > iMessage - Off

Have iphone5s-unless I am in wifi, I cant receive texts from other iphone users unless their imessage is turned off. Help

If in wifi zone I have no problems as the imessage to immesage works. However, when wifi off and cellular data on I cannot recieve texts from an iphone user unless their immessage is turned off. These iphone uses recieve my messages but I do not recieve the replies. Help?

Under Settings>Messages>
Make sure Send as SMS is on . If it is on and the error still occurs go to Send and Recieve, and make sure your phone number is the ONLY thing listed.

BUT I do not receieve the Text messages from other iPhone users. BUT my mac does gets them.
What I am trying to say is that Person A sends me a text to my phone number from the Text Message app, but since they have iMessage on it goes to my MAC instead of my iPhone.. I dont get it.

Imessage doesn't use data. I would say SMS uses more data.
When you turn off imessage on your Mac what happens?

My android phone is not receiving texts from some iphone users

I have recently changed my phone from iphone to an android, however iphone users are unable to text me, i have turned my imessage off from my phone and i am still unable to receive messages, does this take time to work..

If yes, be sure you friends are acttually sending messages tou youer MOBILE NUMBER, not other contacts like email that were possible with iMessage.

I have an iPhone and my friend cannot receive texts , but my wife can, both have an android phone

It is a problem with the other android phone. You may have to reset the android phone. If that doesnt work try looking on an android forum and see what their soltions are.
