I'm not sure how to install LR5 on a second computer

My understanding is that I have a license for two computers. I have a LR4 original disk and serial number. I upgraded to LR5 and have the upgrade serial number.
My guess is that I download a "trial copy" of LR5.3. When it askes for the serial number, do I put in the first one first or the second one first?
I'm not concerned about sharing the catalog.

I don't have concerns about sharing the catalog because the second computer is my wife's. She has a brand new Panasonic GM1 under the tree that shoots RAW! She will create her own catalog with her photos in it.
A lawyer might say she needs her own LR license. I'm choosing to ethically interpret the licensing agreement to mean that within a 45 year marriage, where everything has been "co-mingled" (a legal term!), that her computer is as much mine as mine is hers. In other words, it could be said that "we" own a two computer license for the two computers "we" own.
She did buy Photoshop Elements 12 to get ACR 8.3 that's needed for her new model tiny GM1 camera. Sharing Elements 11 would not work due to the newness of the camera.
We don't do anything commercially with photography, so Adobe won't be abused too badly no matter what we do.

What operating system was installed on the computer when it was new?
Do you have OS X installation discs for the computer?
Was Lion or Mountain Lion pre-installed when the computer was new?
What is the exact model you have?
The process is generically:
How to replace or upgrade a drive in a laptop
Step One: Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Step Two: Remove the old drive and install the new drive. Place the old drive in an external USB enclosure. You can buy one at OWC who is also a good vendor for drives.
Step Three: Boot from the external drive. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager appears. Select the icon for the external drive then click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Step Four: New Hard Drive Preparation
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your new hard drive (this is the entry with the
      mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of
      the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive
      is failing or has failed and will need replacing. Otherwise, click on the
      Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from
      the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended
      (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to
      GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and
      wait until the process has completed.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the
      drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main
      window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the
      Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to
      return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several
      hours depending upon the drive size.
Step Five: Clone the old drive to the new drive
1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
4. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the
      Destination entry field.
5. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the
      Source entry field.
6. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the new internal drive. Source means the old external drive.
Step Six: Open the Startup Disk preferences and select the new internal volume. Click on the Restart button. You should boot from the new drive. Eject the external drive and disconnect it from the computer.

I need to install a new hard disk - not sure how to install

I travelled for a month, and didn't turn off my imac, which I thought I did. My country is hot at this time of the year.
When I got back home, I found that the desktop was crashed, so I did a restart and the computer never booted. I tried again and again.
I performed qa recovery boot, and using the utility I tried to do a disk repair. It initially found problems and started working on them. However, it always crashed in the process after many hours. After several repititions and a lot of research, I booted my iMac with a ubuntu live CD and the diagnoses it performed told me that:-
1- The hard disk will fail, and this is inevitable, something about S.M.A.R.T. (?).
2- There were HDD fan cooling thermal problem, and some read/write problems, and something third.
At this point, I recovered the 'User' folder that includes the desktop, my documents, pictures, etc, and seems ok to run on other O/s's.
I am willing to also retrieve the applications folder if possible, with all the programs.
I feel I need to replace my 1 TB hdd with a new one, but if I did, I have no clue how to install it. I do not have the installation CD's. I bought it installed, and then upgraded to snow leapord using iTunes.
If I found a shop to do the replacement of the HDD' how would I install Snow Leapord again? Is there any other advise?

5 hours to do 6 GB of transfer is NOT normal, even for USB 2.0 so there's something wrong here. I'd say cancel it, wipe the drive and then test the integrity of the drive. Do some file transfers over to and see if it's behaving normally. It could be a bad USB cable, it could be a bad drive or bad enclosure. How to install CC on a second computer

I have the whole CC platform installed on my Apple pro computer
However I need to install just Premiere on a second computer (windows based) because I need to burn DVDs from this second computer (dont have CD burner on the Apple, long story, basically just wanted to save money and I thought I always had this second computer) I already have instructions about Encore CS6 and the whole steps to follow
Well this might seem like a silly question, but Ive been looking everywhere and I just cant find a link to download the application. When I bought the whole CC platform I was told I could download it on a second computer for my own personal use but everytime I follow pages I always go back to this page:

and if it starts asking question as if I was going to purchase CC for the first time. Im already log into adobe and I can see my payment plan but I dont see any link to download the CC application.

Not sure how re-install 9.2.2 on OLD G3 PowerBook... No install Discs

I'm trying to help out a friend who somehow got his hands on an old 233 MHz G3 PowerBook. It's running 9.2.2 now but it has a bunch of crap on it that needs to be removed. So i figured a re-install would fix things up nicely. .. Only problem is, there are no install discs!! I have my old G4 OS 9 install disks, but am afraid that i will seriously screw things up trying to use them on an older G3. I download the 9.2.2 update from here, thinking i could just run that, but it's been so long since I've even looked at OS 9.. I don't remember what to do and how to do it. And... I just have an overwhelming feeling that i can't do it without the install discs, because i know i couldn't do a clean install of OS X without the start up disc.
I just need to dump all the unnecessary programs, files, extensions, etc as the only thing my friend will use this for, is getting online from time to time.
Can anyone give me any advice or offer any suggestions as to what i should do?... or tell me whether it would be ok to use the G4 OS 9 install discs?...

Correct.
All OS 9 downloads are updates only; none of them are full install versions. The last OS version available for download as a full install is OS 7.5.3.
Using your G4 CDs is not a good idea - most OS Install CDs that shipped with a machine are model-specific. Some can do a universal install of the OS, but the main problem is getting the machine to boot to the CD - if the OS on the CD is hardware-specific, it isn't capable of booting a different model.
If you can get it to boot to the CD, and the installer to run, you'll find the instructions on how to do a universal install of OS 9 at the top of this webpage -

If the CD won't boot the G3, then you will need to acquire a retail OS 9 Install CD in some version, then apply download updates as needed to bring it to OS 9.2.2. Since you want the machine to end up at OS 9.2.2, it would probably be best to acquire a retail OS 9.2.1 Install CD (that's the most recent retail Os 9 Install CD); you would then need to apply only one download update, the one for OS 9.2.2.

EBay is another possibility.
Regardless of the source, be sure to get a retail OS 9 Install CD - those are white, with a large gold 9 on them; the retail OS 9 Install CD's have a universal installer; model-specific Install CD's do not.

I bought adobe photoshop cs6 extended at best buy and I'm not sure how to install it.

I can't figure out how to download it from the adobe website without buying it again and my laptop doesn't have a CD ROM therefore, I can't use the disk to install it either. Please help!

I have several filters that I bought and installed on PSE10. Can I install these in the PSE11? and how?

I just copied the files of the plugins that I wanted to the correct PSE11 folders so that if I decide to get rid of PSE10 I don't have to worry about reinstalling anything they are already there. And for now the plugins are working in both versions. So, I can say I am very happy. For the next 30 days I will try out the PSE11 and then will probably be purchasing it before my trial version expires.

I'm not sure how to get data from phone to computer

I have the Desktop Manager and the phone hooked to the cable.
It seems to only have coices I don't want. I do not want is a full backup or restore or synchronoizing or sending anything to the phone.
I just want to do a few very basic things:
1) I want to copy pictures from my phone onto my computer, such that I can view them with standard Windows software.
2) I want to copy my address book from my phone onto my computer, such that I can view them with some standard Office app, doesn't matter which one.
3) I want to copy my calendar so I can view it with some standard Office app, doesn't matter which one.
How do I do those?

I can answer #1 I believe...
When I plug my BB 8830m into my computer it always pops up on my phone screen and asks "Do you want to turn on Mass Storage mode?" I answer yes and when I go to my Windows Explorer it shows a new drive called "Removable Disk (E". It may come up with (D depending on how many other drives you already have attached to your computer. From there I just click on E: drive and it lets me surf through my BB phones files. You can copy/move your photos, ringtones, docs, etc. to your computer this way.

I have purchased Adobe Creative Cloud for work and I'm one of 2 administrators. I am however the only the person using the products (the other admin is a general admin person in our organization). I have installed Adobe Creative Cloud on my work computer (a PC) but would also like to install a few of the products on my home computer (a Mac) as well as I sometimes work from home and my Mac is generally alot faster than the PC. How do I do this? I have signed on to Adobe Creative Cloud online however it seems I can only download the programs I need as trials.

If you have a serial number, you simply need to enter it into the proper fields.
Since you don't say what version of Lightroom, and what sections are "blocked off", let me guess that you have Lightroom CC, and you need to enter the serial number to turn it into Lightroom 6. Use the sim tool that came with your phone or a safety pin and just insert it into the hole at the side of the sim tray and push it in and then pull it out. It is no more difficult than that and then just close it again.
