i just got a new ipad 2 and i can't buy stuff on it asks for security question when my apple id was right why
It's a security feature that was brought in a few months ago - when you try to purchase something for the first time on a new computer or device then you will be asked for the answers to your questions (or to set them up if you haven't yet created them).

Why is iTunes asking for security questions?
Hello Loopdog,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Apple uses security questions to provide you with a secondary method to identify yourself online or when contacting Apple Support.
For more information on this, take a look at this article:

TS1702 Asking for security question to be answered that I don't know the answer to.
Itunes is asking fo security questions to be answered that I don't seem to know the answers to. Need help fixing this problem.
If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address then see if the instructions on this user tip helps : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4551 -
It asked for answers that I did institute , how do I edit this ?
The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
There isn't much that can be done at this point. If you did not set up the questions then I would be concerned that someone else has taken over your account. If there is a bank card in the account I would alert your bank. -
I HAVE A FIRST GEN NANO, WITH THE NEW UPDATE TO ITUNE PROGRAM I AM UNABLE TO PURCHASE MUSIC. I DO NOT REMEMBER SECURITY QUESTIONS. I HAD ONLY 3 CARS, LIVED IN ONLY 2 PLACES AND HAD ONLY 3 JOBS. THE SERIAL NUMBER IS NOT ON FILE AND WAS TOLD THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR SERVICE. I HAVE MONEY ON MY ACCOUNT AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO GET IT BACK. I DO NOT WANT TO BUY ANOTHER DEVICE FROM APPLY. HELP PLEASE
Click here for information. If you can't get the answers emailed to you for some reason, contact the iTunes Store staff via the link in that article.

Me my brother and dad all share the same account. The fact that we can't buy music is very frustrating please help
Do you know the answers to your security questions ? If you do then you should be able to answer them and be able to buy music (other people have also posted over the last couple of days about being asked for their answers despite it not being the first purchase on the computer or device).
If you can't remember the answers and you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get them reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down this page to add a rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312 . Or you could change to 2-step verification : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570 -
Why am i asked for security questions when i never filled any out when registering my device
When i now try to purchase something from itunes store i am asked to answer security questions for which i never gave answers to when registering my device
You should have been asked to set them when you created your iTunes account (unless the account was created prior to them being introduced), not when registering a device to your account.
Are you able to set them, or reset them via the Password & Security section on your account on http://appleid.apple.com ? You won't be able to reset them if you don't have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) on your account.
If you can't set/reset them then you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps on this page to add a rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5620
Or, if it's available in your country, you could change to 2-step verification : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570 -
