How do you change the default View Options as i want Track No. selected on all music imported and all current Playlists without spening the next 5 hours clicking through each playlist myself?
If there isn't a away listen for the noise when hammer meets iPod.

If I delete my Music Folder will all playlists be deleted. I ask that as iTunes has decided to create tons of duplicates and assign artists to them I've never even heard of.

Hmmm don't know. There used to be an option in earlier versions to use the same layout for all playlists but it seems to have vanished.

If you delete the Music folder you will delete all your music and your iTunes library with all it's playlists to boot.
In iTunes all the playlists are stored internally in the *iTunes Library.itl* file. Assuming you accepted the default installation options you will have an iTunes folder inside the main Windows Music folder. If you've let iTunes *Keep iTunes Media folder organised*, then it will have reorganised music into folders on the lines of "Artist\Album\## Track" where artist is either the Artist or, if present, the Album Artist. Compilation albums that you previously had orgainsed into their own folders may have been spread into multiple folders each holding one or two tracks. Likewise an album with the odd guest artist will be split among folders for each combination of artists.
Without knowing what specific issues are driving you to distraction it's hard to know what else I can tell you at this point, but one of the main problems people have when starting out with iTunes is simply pursuading it to see some albums as a single entity. If you run into this issue take a look at my previous post on Grouping Tracks Into Albums. Otherwise post back here describing your problems in more detail and we'll try to help...

I can forward a SMS as an email on my Q10.
open the SMS and hold down on the text, this opens a side menu with the "share" icon on it (like a Y),
Then you can select how you want to share, eg SMS, Email BBM etc.

Ibook ac plug pops, on 3rd DC In board...

I have a G3 500 Mhz machine that I bought on ebay (I have usually had good luck on eBay, if you know what to look for). Seller said that the machine was fine, except the adapter would not charge the battery or run the machine. Sounds like a classic DC board problem, correct? The machine runs great on battery ( I have a second ibook that charges the battery ). So I replaced the DC board. The 2nd one didn't work. so I tried a third DC board,- nope, does not work, and the receptical on the ibook itself is starting to "pop" and make electircal noises. (Yes, I know that is dangerous.) I have tried 3 different DC boards and three different Apple AC adapters.
So... am I just unlucky with DC boards, or could there be something wrong with the logic board itself, that is screwing up the power? Or is there another variable between the logic board and the dc board? I tried resetting the PMU also. I thought if the machine ran fine on battery, the logic board was supposed to be ok... anyone ever have a similar problem?
And I don't want to spend the $$$ to have some Apple Genius do a diag one it (Are they really called "Apple Geniuses", or is everyone just being sarcastic? Can't imagine a genius working in a computer store.) Probably not worth it... I figure it must be at least $50 just to have them crack the case, correct? Guess I will have to sell it as a parts machine on eBay. It's a nice little machine for Ubuntu too. Thanks for any help!

Each time you change the DC-in board, you need to reset the PMU. I would say you are probably having bad luck with the boards, yes.
Yes, they're really called "Geniuses." They don't have to rate "genius" on an IQ test to get that designation from Apple, though.
I don't know what an Apple Store would charge to have an initial look at the problem. AppleCare charges $49 just to talk to you about it.

Infospoke - 3rd party tool not setting request to G (successful )

Hi,
Anyone of you had experience of this issue before? I have an infospoke that loads data to the DB table. A 3rd party tool ( Datastage) extracts the data from the table. Everything works as expected, BW sends notification to 3rd party tool that data is ready for extraction. 3rd party tool extracts the data successfully, but the problem is that the request is not set to G (successful). The people working on Datastage said that their system issued a message to BW that extraction is successful but it seems BW did not accept/receive it. So although the data has been successfully extracted to the 3rd party tool, the request is still set to N (new) and not G. No errors are issued.
Below is the Infospoke Message run:
1. Extraction is running
2. Extraction running in background process BW_OH19802
3. Data Package 1
4. Send message to DATASTG
5. Message from DATASTG confirmed
6. The extraction ended successfully
7. Data is being read: Open hub destination DW1234
8. Finished reading data: Open hub destination DW1234
In this issue, the log should have:
9. Datastage job completed successfully (status set to G)
10. Status for request 154,567 was set to G.
But the infospoke only run up to 8. The catch here is that this doesnt happen consistently. Sometimes the infospoke status is correctly set. but sometimes it's not.
Any ideas what cause this problem? Will really appreciate any inputs.

The Thirdy party tool (in this case datastage) is responsible for setting the status to G in the table RSBREQUID3RD. If this does not
happen then normally the problem is with the Third party tool and often with the RFC communication. However there is an known issue on the
BI side as explained in the note 1243168, if this is relevant for your BI support package level please apply the note and check if the problem
still exists.

Knowing when usb device ready (windows balloon window)

I have a device that when connected via USB, it will appear, then go away then reappear. When the device is finally ready, Windows pops up with its little balloon ready stating that its ready.
I am trying to access it but do not want to attempt until after it reappears, or when its ready. And a simple delay is not very reliable.
Is there a good way to detect if a USB device is "ready for use"?

If you are doing this in CVI and you are using a VISA resource you can use the viFindRsrc command.
viFindRsrc:
Matches the value specified in Expression with all known instruments. On successful completion, the Return Count is the total number of matches and the Instrument Descriptor is the descriptor string for the first instrument that matches Expression. The Instrument Descriptor can be used to open an instrument with the viOpen operation. The Find Handle can be used in subsequent calls to the viFindNext operation to retrieve descriptor strings for the remaining instruments that were found.

You can then set up code to wait until the resource you are looking for is ready and then open a session to it. Let me know if this helps out and have a great day!

How to sort photos in an album by filename?

I have imported 273 photos into an album in Photoshop Elements Organizer. They originally came from 2 different digital cameras, so the date stamp on them is different. All the photos were combined and sorted by filename before they were imported. I want to keep them in this order for creating a DVD. The Media Browser Arrangement indicates you can sort by date (oldest or newest) or Album. I have searched the Help topics until my eyes are ready to pop out of my head and have spoken with support (for 45 minutes) until we got disconnected. Help!!!

This approach has worked in many versions of Photoshop Elements for making an Album based on file name within a single Windows folder - but I can't say for sure about version 8.
Since you say they were combined and sorted by filename, I am guessing that you have all of those photos in a single Windows folder.
So try switching to the Folder Location view of the thumbnails, navigate to that Windows folder within the PSE Organizer left side of the screen foldeer structure and verify that the photos are displaying in name sequence within that folder.
Using the Folder Location view (where the photos are displaying in name sequence), select those photos and add them to a newly created PSE Album from their display under the Folder Location view.
Another consideration -looking ahead to your actions
You mention burning to a DVD - if this will be a slideshow burned to a standard definition video DVD for TV playback, I wonder what resolution those photos are? For example, were they from a 5 megapixel camera or a 12 megapixel camera ?
The dilemma is that the resolution of your photo files could be too high for processing 273 photos to make the slide show. If you will be burning a standard definition video DVD from Premiere Elements, there is a recommendation to have the photo files used for the slide show be a resolution of approximately 1000x750 pixels (or equivalent adjustment if you will do widescreen). In a way this is the opposite of printing where if the resolution is too low, the print quality will be poor. For slideshows written to video DVD, too high a resolution stresses the process of making the video and can either reduce quality of image in the final video or cause crashes.
If you will be burning to a Bluray DVD or displaying on a computer monitor , then the resolution should be somewhat higher - but a 12 MP camera will still give too large a resolution. The Process Muliple Files function in the PSE Editor or the File > Export new file in the Organizer provide methods to take your entire folder of photo files and create "downsized" resolution files that are written to a different folder so that your current files are untouched.

A few Video Out related questions (yes I searched)

Hello there! I've been searching the net and these forums for awhile now and didn't find answers to these specific questions. Any help would be appreciated.
Question 1:
I (now) know that the iPod Classic is extremely picky in regard to getting video signals to the TV. I know that Apple requires that I purchase its cords and/or its Apple Universal Dock (not to be mistaken with the iPod Universal Dock, which is discontinued) in order to enable output to my TV. However, I have read in a few other places that the iPod Universal Dock will work with the iPod Classic. Is this true? If I plug my iPod Classic into the iPod Universal Dock will I be able to use a non-Apple cord that connects from the headphone jack in the dock to AV cables (Yellow and White) on the TV? Also, will the S-Video on the iPod Universal Dock work with my iPod Classic? I really don't feel like going out and spending another $100 on the new Apple dock and cords.
Question 2:
In regard to the iPod Universal Dock, I have noticed that there are three part numbers: MA045G/A, MA045G/B, and MA045G/C. Is there any significant difference between these? Will all (or none) of them work with my iPod Classic?
Any other tips on how to get around having to spend another $100?

I have my own web server and I was looking for some good forum software. I usually use phpBB. However, I started dreaming of forum software that would be great and remembered how much I like the Apple Discussions forums.
I am sure the answer is no, but it does not hurt to ask. Does Apple have any plans to make their forums software available for other people to use?

Delay rendering of Panel Group

I have Tabbed Panel Group widget that is driven by Spry Data,
that's held in a parent frame.
The markup for the group is defined in a region, using
spry:repeat for each tab and {} for data output.
The onLoad event for the page calls a function that creates
the widget. (tabPanel = new Spry.Widget..blah blah).
However, the widget doesn't render correctly right away. None
of the event handlers are assigned, and all of the content shows at
once.
If I delay the creation of the widget with a setTimeout call
for half a second after the page's onload event, it initializes
just fine.
What I'm guessing is that the constructor for the panel group
needs to get called AFTER Spry.Data has combed through the region.
Is there any event from Spry.Data that I can listen to, to trigger
this, other than using a setTimeout?

Instead of using a onload event listener, use a DOM ready
script..
(this DOM readyscript requires the file SpryDOMUtils.js)

Phone won't activate

Three TS people and a total of six hours with a phone pressed to my ear later and my iPhone won't activate. It says no service where I'm assuming there should be antenna bars. TS obviously has no clue, as two people said they would call me back yesterday and haven't. The last person I spoke with had me re-download iOS 5 from iTunes. The phone walked through the screens, like i was on the right track, but it just will not activate. It stays on the "this may take a while" screen and then says it won't connect. No way to dial *228 either.
Any clues before I call it quits with Verizon? If I needed a new phone they should have overnighted it to me so I had it today. This isn't like my Droid when it was brand new to everyone. Doesn't Verizon have any experienced people yet to deal with iPhones?

Yes I did, Susan. Numerous times, but with "no service" in the corner, the phone could not place the call.
I had a *spare* couple hours this morning, so called Verizon's TS again.
This TS person said she was surprised the phone wasn't pronounced DOA yesterday after she reviewed all that was done to it. She offered to replace the phone and I would have a new one on Monday she said, as they don't ship on Saturday's and could not do an overnight thing, not even to one of their stores. That burned me after hearing the phone should have been pronounced DOA yesterday. By the time she switched me over to the person I had to speak with to get the replacement ordered though, Monday had changed to Friday... the end of next week! Apparently TS was wrong yet again and I should not have been told Monday. My head was ready to pop after being told this. It might not be Verizon's fault the phone arrived DOA, but it is their fault the three people I spoke with yesterday didn't issue me a new phone in a timely manner. And kept telling me they would call me back and didn't.
I am checking out At&t's plans right now. I was with them before I made the move to get a Droid and really had no beef with them. Life is too short to be dealing with Verizon.

FCP6 Won't Open in Other Profile

The computer in question has two admin profiles. For some reason, FCP starts fine in the first profile. In the second profile, it starts to the point where it looks like the UI is getting ready to pop-up, then just quits with no warnings or error messages.

Thanks for the suggestion. That actually helped partly. The real issue was that the permissions for FCP to write to the RAID were all messed up in that profile. So when I would set the scratch drives to the RAID it would permanently mess up FCP. We ran the permissions repair utility and that fixed it. Deleting those files per your suggestion was the only way to at least get FCP to start again.

A135-7403 Overheating, trying to get to CPU

I decided to take apart my A135-7403 laptop today to put some thermal paste on my cpu and clean out the fan which is loaded with dust. I am just about home free by taking out the last screw that connect to the case but the motherboard will not come loose. The whole board is ready to pop out except under the ene chip in the lower left hand corner of the laptop. I tried to look under it to see what is holding it to the case but I could not see what was holding it.

Glassfish Sun Cluster domain instance unable to start

Hi guys' plz assist.
I am trying to bring up all the node agent on the cluster but i 1st need to start the production_domain using this command:./asadmin start-domain prod_domain but it fails to start. I am running a JES Portal and currently is offline. pls help.

List A Track With Two Different Genre in Database

Is there a way to list a track (or group of songs) in two different genre listings. For instance, "Motown" is a genre, but many of the songs were also "Pop:1980's"?

Sounds like you've made lots of special genres - I don't have a Motown listing.
You could fiddle around with smart playlists. You'd need 3 to do it since smart playlists don't have an OR in them. You can only use match any or match all.
One for genre=motown, 2nd for genre=Pop:1980s, 3rd for match any, playlist=motown genre and playlist=Pop:1980s.

ATI Radion 7000 for Mac PCI Card

Hi,
I have a Beige PowerMac G3 running at 375 MHz and Mac OS 10.2.8. I have just added a brand new ATI card and the copmuter will start up, but when it gets past the grey Apple loading screen, it gets to the point when the loading screen is ready to pop up, it gets the little round spinning thing like when you shut the computer down and the screen turn blue. Before I put the card in the computer, I got the most update-to-date drivers. Can anyone help me?

What is sounds like to me, as I believe I had this problem when I installed that same card, is your computer monitor is still set to the on-board video. You can resolve this I believe in 2 ways. The first and easiest is if you have a spare monitor around attach it to the onboard video leaving your monitor hooked up to the radeon 7000 card. Then restart your computer and when it boots you should end up with your blue screen on the radeon card monitor and your desktop on the onboard video, open monitor and drag the display around so that the radeon is the #1 monitor. This should switch so that now your monitor on the radeon is showing your desktop.
The other way I heard about is doing a reinstall of jaguar, which you can do a archive and install so you don't lose all your information. If you don't have a spare monitor, try starting up off of your jaguar install disk and see if you can switch your monitor setting from there.
