I'm running MAC OSX 10.3.9 and want to upgrade Firefox but I can't?

I want to upgrade from v. 2 to v. 3.

You will not be able to upgrade, later versions of Firefox require at least OS X 10.4

• My laptop died. I've dusted off my old iMac running OSX 10.2.8 and want to upgrade firefox to 3.5 or 3.6. Looks like I can't do that - where would I find older versions of firefox to update to?

My now dead laptop was running Firefox 3.6. It died. Now I have my old iMac out of storage. It has Firefox 2.0.0.1 on it. I'm using it now. Check for updates says I can go as high as 2.0.0.20. I'd like to upgrade the iMac to the most current operating system it can work with (right now it's at OSX 10.2.8), and then get Firefox up to the most current version this can run. I tried searching for older firefox versions to download, but can't seem to find them on your website. (I used search term "download Firefox 3.5"). I did this to check and see what OSX version they can work with. Let me know what I need to do. Thanks!

Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last ever release for Mac OSX 10.3.9 and earlier versions.
Get it here:
• I have Mac osx 10.5.8 and tried to upgrade firefox , now it won't work at all even my old firefox won't work

I need to be able to go back to my old version of firefox or get this one to work

See:
*https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Installing+Firefox+on+Mac
Make sure that Firefox gets installed properly.
Open the Firefox disk image (DMG) file with a double-click if necessary and drag the Firefox program to the application folder on your hard drive.
You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the disk image, but drag it out of the DMG folder instead.
• I have a Mac Pro 4,1 quad core intel Xeon running mac OSX 10.6.8 and I have just moved studios and now need to use the Internet wirelessly but there's no airport facilities on this model can anyone tell me what model of airport card I would need for this

Instead of getting a wireless card for the Mac Pro, you might want to consider getting an 802.11ac wireless bridge device that would enable you to connect more than one device to it by Ethernet cable and to eventually take advantage of the faster 802.11ac wireless standard.

However, the system requiments are pretty steep:
Mac OS X v10.6 or v10.7
2GB of RAM
Intel Core 2 Duo or later
so you at minimum need to upgrade the OS to at least OS 10.6. That is this package:

I'm in Idaho 100 miles from an Apple Store and use the online Apple store all the time. Iy's your best resource in the rural West.

• I have a MAC OSX 10.4.11 and need to upgrade

I have a MAC OSX 10.4.11 and need to upgrade. I'm not too computer savvy but can handle basic things. How should I proceed?

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a G3, no further upgrades are available.
If it's a G4 or G5, buy a retail Mac OS X 10.5 DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay.
If it's an Intel Mac, buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store.

I mistakenly downloaded firefox 3.6 before I realized my system wouldn't support it. Now firefox won't launch, and replaced my older firefox version in applications. Now what do I do?

• I have OSX 10.5.8 and I keep installing FireFox, but it keep disappearing. When I try to download the newest version, my software isn't compatible because I DON"T have the intel "chip. What can I do to reinstall an older version of Firefox?

Firefox not only disappears from my dock but also from my Applications folder. I tried to downl0ad it again today (5/19/2011), however, it says my system isn't compatible because I don't have an Intel processor. Any suggestions. I have problems with Safari and like to use Firefox but can't if it keeps disappearing and then Mozilla tells me that I can't install after I have already downloaded the application.

For an unofficial Firefox 4 compatible version that runs on Mac OS X 10.4.11 or Mac OS X 10.5.8 (PowerPC) you can look at:

Firefox 3.6.x (Mac OS X 10.4 and later) can be found here:

• Running Mac OSX 10.4.11 and cannot find sync button under "Preferences." Have 2 laptops I wish to sync w/desktop. (Laptops run 10.6 and 10.7, sync easily found)

Did sync replace xmarks? Is it possible to sync using my older Mac OS? My desktop is my primary working computer, but I need my laptops to have same bookmarks, etc. Thanks for any help!

Thanks, Ibai. This worked. Now a new problem: Regular bookmarks have synced, but the "bookmarks toolbar" hasn't. All I can see are "Most Visited" and "Latest Headlines" etc. I prefer the setup I have on my old computer. Any idea why not all my bookmarks have synced? Thanks in advance!

• I have a Macbook from 2007 or earlier. I have OSX 10.6.8 and want to upgrade to Mavericks. Is this possible or is the model of my computer too old?

I have a Macbook from 2007 or earlier. I currently run OSx 10.6.8. I wanted to upgrade to Mavericks so that I can get the new aperature. However I was wondering if my Macbook model was to old to run mavericks. Is this the case? Do i need a newer model? The other option is to get an different aperature. Does anyone know what Aperature runs with 10.6.8? Aperature 1.5.1 does not run with my current operating system.

Probably not, but check below:
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Lion, or Mountain Lion installed. Purchase and download Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
Model Identifier 5,1 or later
3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
Lion System Requirements
1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
or Xeon processor
2. 2GB of memory
3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
4. 7GB of available space
5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

• I have a MAC 10.5.8 version and wanted to upgrade its OS maverick is this possible?

Can you upgrade an OS X 10.5.8 to a higher version?

Back up your data, click here, and read the entire page. Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC software such as Microsoft Office 2004.

• I'm running Mac OSX 10.6.8 and recently my Firefox browser upgraded itself to 3.6.22. I can't get my gmail to open. It opens in Safari 5.1, no problem.

Does not effect any other websites I've tried to open.

Use Tony's suggestion. I am running it right now and it is awesome. I love Mozilla but they basically screwed all of those older Macs over. Come on Mozilla. These Macs still work, and there are plenty of people with them out there.
