Found the answer:
Java for OS X 2014-001 includes installation improvements, and supersedes all previous versions of Java for OS X. This package installs the same version of Java 6 included in Java for OS X 2013-005.
installed above and it now works

I am unable to axcess any adobe software since OS X YOSEMITE took over my laptop. I keep getting this message, "To open Adobe CS5" you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime. Does anyone know what to do? My efforts have not worked.
and - check with Adobe - would strongly suspect you need to upgrade CS. Strongly consider Creative Cloud, access to the entire TypeKit alone is amazing.

Currently using Photoshop CS5, but with a replacement computer and upgrade to Yosemite, keep being told I need to install the legacy Java 6. Currently, Photoshop won't even open. I absolutely do not want to subscribe, don't want to mess with the cloud, just want to buy an upgrade to something that will run for a while longer. I don't care about Lightroom, Bridge, Illustrator, etc.; most of those I've deleted over the years. But I do use Photoshop - or would if it would still run. What options do I have?
This is the java you need for photoshop cs5 to work on mac os x 10.10 Yosemite
https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572?locale=en_US
It's also possible you may have to reinstall photoshop cs5 even after installing the above java, because sometimes the upgrade to mac os x 10.10 messes up the photoshop cs5 installation.
You can download photoshop cs5 from here if you don't already have the install media.

Installing the old Java SE 6 Runtime version to open inDesign
Hi, I bought a new MacBook Pro 2014 and I can't open InDesign CS5 anymore. It tells me, I should install the old Java SE 6 Runtime Version. If I go to the Oracle side, first of all, there are all sorts of warnings about downloading an old version and also, there are quite a few Java SE 6 versions: Kid Java SE Runtime Environment 6u45 or Java SE Runtime Environment 6u43... Any help is much aprechiated. Thanks.
There is a version 6 installer on Apple's site

Legacy Java SE 6 runtime upgrade for Yosemite problem
I've upgraded my old iMac successfully to Yosemiti 10.10.1, but when I try to open Adobe InDesign CS4 it's telling me I need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime. I download JavaForOSX2014-001.dmg as instructed, but when I try to open it I get...
'The following disk images couldn't be opened. Reason: Image not recognised.'
Any thoughts welcome - I am not highly technical!Appears to be a corrupted download. DL it directly from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572 and try installing it.

Thunderbolt display running OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.2 acts weird
I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) connected to a Thunderbolt display running OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.2. I am using Photoshop CS5 Extended Version 12.0.4 x64.
About 3 weeks ago when I opened a file and tried to move it up to the Thunderbolt display to enlarge it and make it easier to work on, it disappeared. This had never happened before. Now all PS files behave this way.
This doesn’t happen with any other apps on the computer including all the other Adobe apps I use.
[email protected]I have similar problem Thunderbolt Display, Yosemite 10.10.2, but Photoshop CC 2014. sometimes I can quit PS and then it will work - or if I launch PS from the toolbar on the TB display, but today I can literally drag it from my Laptop where the file is visible to my TB display and the image disappears. I've even relaunched PS with all the preferences reset and that got it to work one time that it happened but I've only had the computer and PS for 2 weeks so its not like that much could have changed or gotten messed up in that time right? did you find any solutions?

I am running Photoshop CC 2014 on Windows 8.1 with an AMD quad core processor and AMD E1-2100 APU with AMD Radeon HD 8210 Graphics Card. I have installed the latest driver version 13.152.0.0. When I activate puppet warp, the mesh appears over the image and I can place the first pin. However, when I go to add the second pin, Photoshop crashes. I have tried with on a new, blank file, with just a few lines on it, but, as soon as I place the first pin, the image disappears, and then, as soon as I click anywhere else in the image, Photoshop crashes. I have followed all the online advice about settings under the Preferences/Performance interface, but nothing fixes the problem. Can anyone please help?

Upon upgrading to Yosemite, the Pages and Numbers apps will not open (although they are the latest versions) and Keynote will not upgrade; how do I go about getting the apps to open? Is this a common issue?
Hi Madhattanite,
Welcome to the Support Communities! When did you purchase your Mac? The first thing I would suggest is to review the information in the resource below for the Up-To-Date Program for Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.
Once Yosemite is installed, you should have the option to Accept the Pages, Numbers and Keynote apps in the Mac App Store Purchases pane.
Apple - Up-to-Date Program for Pages, Numbers, and Keynote
I hope this helps ...
