It's the end of September and there is no word on when iOS 5 will be available. I'm sick of waiting

CUE stuck at "Waiting for IOS to register IP address"

I am running a UC520 with the CME 7.0 code. Currently I am stuck with CME waiting for IOS to register its IP address. I have tried changing boot options but am confused why it will not allow me to get past this point. I can ping out of the devices to the network so to my knowledge my network connections are not the problem.
Any ideas?

The IP address of the service module is assigned in the CME configuration. During bootup, the module uses the SCP protocol to obtain the IP address from the CME router. So take a look to see if you have a "service-module ip address a.b.c.d ..." assigned and the interface is not shut down. Otherwise, do a "show run interface service-module x/y" on the CME and post it.

PS2013 - Creating a new instance of Project Server does not run and hangs in "Waiting for Resource"

Hi,
In my Project Server 2013 environment I created an instance of Project Server which is running in a notebook Hyper-V Windows 2012 Server with 11 GB, 4 threds, 3 GHz, one box configuration with complete version of SQL Server 2012 with SP1, nothing trial.
PS and SPS 2013 updated with Cumulative Update of Dec 2013.
I want to create a new empty instance in the same port 80 with a different URL or in the port 90 creating a new web application.
Whatever option I choose, when I try to create the instance of the Project Server it hangs in "Waiting for Resource" status. No Event Viewer, no hanged timer Jobs, all services running, all pools and sites started and I found out nothing in the
SharePoint Logs. After every attempt I return the server snapshot to the former state.
The Project Server and SharePoint continue to work normally.
Any hints where should I look to solve this issue?

so, the only clue I can find in your posting is around the web application.
if you want a 2nd PWA instance on the same web application (this presums you have one already, working, right?).
all you really have to do is give it a different "pwa" name - like "Test" or some such and use a unique project database name : Test_ProjectServerData
there is much more you could do, for isolation into a private content database for example.
to use a different port, then you need to setup a web application on a different port and proceed as above, selecting that web app to start from.
if the basic action of new pwa site provision is not working, then it may suggest there is something systemmically wrong with the setup.

you realize - I tried to gently show - that this is a forum for workstation users, so you know that, right?
And I would not expect any real change until Intel comes out with the second phase of their cycle with Ivy Bridge mobile processor family in 2013-2014 - and it is more complex and costly - but Intel basically sets the stage for what new hardware will be available to OEM vendors - atleast those using Intel processor and logicboard.
Our two year old Mac Pro towers still hold up well even though they have fallen behind in SATA performance, support is there but not a newer Apple graphic card, and no Sandy Bridge or Ivy processor - or USB3 and Thunderbolt. But then they hold up well in performance and from breaking down and good investment llkely to last longer than most laptops and parts.
But everyone is clamoring for a new 2013 Mac Pro tower.
So it really was, for me, confusing just what update you could mean when a rMBP just came out, iMac are overdue, and Mac Pro is already waiting for a real major update but not until 2013 sometime, when Intel and everyone is ready - and likely to see some new high end graphic card offerings.
You should add a tower to your laptop then, start saving, would make a nice add-on to have - and starts are around $2K.

Now i cannot see my bookmarks toolbar icons in firefox 4, i could before but now the images have dissapeared, i can still use the bookmarks, but have to wait for the box to come up explaining wich link it is to know what im choosing

i had my bookmarks tab set up to show no names of bookmarks just the icons, the button is still there but i cant see any icon, the link works fine, the only issue here is the icon does not show so i cannot decipher between the links unless i hover over each button and wait for the message details

Did you edit the names to clear them or did you use other means like an extension or code in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/UserChrome.css userChrome.css] ?

Is IOS 6.1.3 better for iPhone 4 or should I wait for IOS 6.1.4?

I was hesitating to update this because my phone is still on recovery mode. I accidentally updated it without using iTunes, what I did is that i turned off my WiFi to stop installing the new IOS but then as i open my WiFi, the new IOS started to load again then my phone turned to an apple logo with the loading thingy. IOS 6.1.4 is not for the iPhone 4 but only for the iPhone 5 so if you have iOS 6.1.3 then that is the latest iOS for your iPhone 4

Short of waiting for iOS 8.2 to be released has anyone found a solution for the disappointing performance of iOS 8.1.3? I did the update two nights ago and nothing (including mail, messages, Wi-Fi) will open. They constantly crash.

Millions have not had a problem so perhaps yours is due to a bad install. What troubleshooting steps have you done? Restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new are steps you can take to try and resolve the problem.

How to make Launchd/LaunchAgents wait for volume mount?

I've been trying off and on for months to resolve a problem I have starting up named on my OS X 10.5 Mac Mini, which acts as a home server. Actually, I've been trying since 10.4 came out.
All my configuration files are located on a volume located on an external pair of RAIDed drives. At system startup the volume mounts automatically, and I have soft links pointed to the remote directories, in this case /usr/local/etc/. The problem is that system startup doesn't wait for this volume to come online before starting to run items in LaunchAgents. Therefore, using the StartAtLoad option, I'll see messages in the system log from bind saying that it tried to start, but the config file /usr/local/etc/named/named.conf wasn't available, so it died.
I've experimented with WatchPaths - that doesn't seem to work reliably because by the time it gets going, the path is available; since it doesn't actually check availability, but only status change, it doesn't work. (If I log in and touch the file afterwards, named starts right up.)
I can figure out some hack to run a script and check the status regularly and launch/re-launch, but I'd rather figure out how to do this the "right" way with launchd. Current (still broken) script is below. Thanks for suggestions!

Remotely invoke DS job and wait for job

Hi,
We are running DS 4 SP2 on Linux and have generated our job script from
the console. We need to be able to invoke a DS job from scheduler
(autosys) running on AIX and wait for the DS job to complete so the
return status is passed back to autosys.
We are planning to replace informatica with DS, informatica has a utility
pmcmd which allows remote invocation and will also wait for the job to
complete. Is there a similar utility in DS?
Alternately, if we installed DS on the remote AIX server, would it be
able to remotely start/wait for the job on the Linux server?

you can export the job execution command for a job from management console and use that to run the job from auto sys, the script will start job aluncher which has a option -w (by default it waits for job to complete) which tell whether the launcher process waits for job to complete or starts the job and exit

Waiting for settings

hi new hear and to blackberry as well sorry if this is not right forum but wanted some advice i went and got a blackberry curve on virgin contract today for my daughter ,got it home and started to set it up as she wants to use the messenger service on it ,she added a few people whos pins she has but nothing came through to them so i rang virgin to find out what we were doing wrong they told me we have to wait for a text to come through saying that all services were ready or something like that and could take up to 24 hrs could anyone confirm this for us plz ?

I do wish I had better news for you -- but until your carrier properly activates your BIS account, you won't be able to do anything. And there is no one here (to my knowledge) that can do anything about that...your carrier is in control. You do have every right to be upset with them -- as you've correctly stated, you are paying for services that they are not delivering. When you next speak with them, I might suggest requesting escalation to a manager.
