I'm stuck in the monitor panel.

I want to add to my movie, but cant get out of the monitor panel. How do I get back to the time line so I can add more to the movie?

Hi, in answer to your questions
. We have elements 7 and are using a HP laptop. I shut down the computer and then realised that I had not shut down Elements first. I canceled shutdown and went back and shut the programme. When I later returned to elements , I found that I could not get out of the monitor panel.

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
Are you working with one monitor system? Have you been moving workspace panels around?
What workspace are you in
Premiere Elements 12....Quick, Expert, Quided Quick, Quided Expert
Premiere Elements 11...Quick or Expert
Premiere Elements earlier than 11, Timeline or Sceneline
What were you doing last before you realized you could not import additional source media?
Let us start here and then decide what next.
Thanks.

In case you did not find it, the following is a copy/paste of the Announcement on Premiere Elements 19/NVIDIA GeForce
that appears at the top of this forum.
Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are experiencing
Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling
back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow
glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies
to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of
the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere
Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.
Since October 2013, the following thread has tried to keep up with the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA reports

  • Why would my video clips be running too fast when played on the monitor panel?

I posted my problem earlier today, but re-reading it maybe I didn't explain myself well enough.
My main question is: "why would my video clips be running too fast when played on the monitor panel ?".  This is occuring after I have selected my media from the Tasks Panel and placed them in correct order in the Timeline/Sceneline.  I knew something was wrong when I could see that the clips were not indicating their right length when viewed in the (expanded) timeline.  They were compressed into just a few seconds, whereas the clips should have been at least 5 minutes.  I ran the clips in the monitor and sure enough they ran too fast, with a lot of jerking movements.
The 3 video clips I am trying to make into a HD PAL video were taken with my Nokia N8 mobile video camera. These are in mp4 format. Can this present a problem ?  Note that when I play these individual HD clips on my computer in (Windows Media Player) they run fine.
After I placed the clips in my Project Panel (or before in the Organize Workspace), I have perforned no change or manipulation of the clips.  They are in their original state.
Just too confirm that the clips did seem to be compressed, I burnt a DVD, the resultant video ran in a matter of seconds.
    Help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, that is what the problem was.
Although the video camera on my Nokia N8, mobile was capturing at 25fps,
for some reason once transfered over to PrE9 (via file transfer), the clip was interpreted as 500fps.  Once in Interpret Footage I was able to change the fps to 25.
    Thanks for the help.

  • No Preview in the Monitor panel

    Hello all,
when I start playing the images, there is no preview available in the Monitor panel (white screen). Only stopped sequenzes were shown and the sound is playing. This problem occurs independently from the used files. When starting Pre there is a failure shown:Problems with the Intel Graphics. But the driver is updated to the latest version. Furthermore it is not possible to change the setting from the Graphic Card as described in  the Pre Help.
Select Edit > Preferences > General.
Deselect Enable GPU Playback and in the Playback Preferences dialog, click OK to confirm.
    This menu is not available!
Thanks in advance for your help and best regards,

What model of camcorder is your video coming from and what format it is?
When you started your project, which project settings did you select? If you selected the right project settings for your video, you will NOT see red lines above your clips when you add them to your timeline. Is this the case in your project?
Have you ensured you have the latest version of Quicktime, per the program's requirements? Have you gone to the nVidia or ATI site and ensured you have the latest drivers for your graphics card?

  • PE10: Is there a way of dragging the anchor point within the monitor panel?

I need to drag the anchor point to the far right upper corner to make that point the pivot point for photos. Tried every combination I could think of, but can’t find a way.

I am used to Premiere Pro 5.5 that has the capability.
I have 40 some odd photos to do this with. I tried to automate the process by creating a preset. With premiere elements it seems to take longer. I guess I just have to fool around with what's available.
I am using premiere elements 10 upgraded from premiere elements 9, which had the color matte function which I can't find it elements 10. Can you tell me where that function my lay?

  • Monitor Panel question

First timer here, so bear with me.  I have imported my files, but the monitor panel right side is zoomed in.  I have a feeling I just missed a setting somewhere.  Can anyone tell me what I did wrong and how do I fix it?

Looks like I may have just selected the wrong video type when I first created the project.  Is there any way to change that,
or do I have to start the project over again?

  • .mts file video won't play in Elements 10 Monitor Panel

    Hi All
I am having trouble with .mts files.  I have Premier Elements 10 on Win7 pc, and I have just, for the first time, opened .mts video files which were taken on my Lumix FZ150.  When I drag the scenes onto the timeline then try to preview them I can hear the audio but the video in the Monitor Panel doesn't move, it doesn't play.
Is there something I am doing wrong?

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 10 running on? And, does your computer use a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card?
IMPORTANT. Please read the Announcement at the top of this forum regarding the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA GeForce issue. That Announcement describes the problem and gives detailed information on how to deal with the situation.
Do you have problems getting a video display in the Edit area monitor for still and videos from other sources?
Also of importance in directing the troubleshooting are the properties of the Panasonic Lumix FZ150 video file that you are importing and the project preset that you are selecting to match the properties of that video. From what I have read of your camera, you could have MPEG-4, AVCHD, or MotionJPEG video compression. But, with that .mts file extension, that would suggest that your camera is set to record AVCHD. Is that correct?  Are you sure of the file extension and video compression for the file?
The answers to all of the above will point us to the solution to your issue.
We will be watching for your results.
    Thank you.

  • Capture monitor panel issue

Everything worked fine in capture mode from a camera. When i change the 4850 ati with a new GTX 470 n vidia, the monitor panel in capture mode, looks like the black level has increased,or something like that.. Actually there is no basic problem the clip is captured correct.Does anyone knows about it?The same issue happens also in cs4.ASUS P6T, I7,12GRAM, VISTA 64 NVIDIA DRIVERS 260.99.

Thanks a lot for your reply.I did but nothing change.During capture if i click capture settings i can see the real black in monitor. Why the source and the program monitors are correct and this happens only in capture mode?

  • Replacing the LCD panel in my 23" Apply Cinema monitor (A1082)

    Hi,
I have a 23" cinema screen (A1082) which has a cracked LCD panel. I've order a replacement LCD panel but how do I take my existing monitor apart in order to change the LCD panel out? There doesn't appear to be any screws to dismantle the screen...... thanks

    1) Using a thin tool like a screwdiver, pry off the side plastic strips from the top down. Older units are harder as the glue is applied more generously. It helps if you warm it first, lets say with a blowdryer.
    2) It is easier if you remove the stand hinge pins using a 6mm allen wrench. You can probably get away skipping this step if you don't mind more work later.
    3) With a small phillips head, remove the side retainer brackets.
    4) At the bottom where the clamshell joins, pull a small tab which slides a hooked retainer releasing the clamshell. Older units may have one on each end, newer units have one at only one end.
    5) Pop apart the clamshell and slide the guts out.
Good luck finding replacement parts for these. Mine has a logic board that died in a power failure and I am stuck with finding a broken display and buying it for the working parts. Unfortunately Apple does not sell the parts to end users.

  • I'm using a viewsonic 19" LCD monitor with a powermac 7100/66.  The only resolution available in the monitor control panel is 640x480.  The viewsonic gives me a message to use 1440x900.  The mac specs state it's capable of 1152x870 @ 8 bit. Help!

I'm using a viewsonic 19" LCD monitor with a powermac 7100/66 running Mac OS 7.6.1.  The only resolution available in the monitor control panel is 640x480.  The viewsonic gives me a message to use 1440x900.  The mac specs state it's capable of 1152x870 @ 8 bit.  How can I get a higher resolution?

For unsupported resolutions, one may need to see if there are any software
solutions; maybe the minimum specs of the display are not met by an 8-bit
color specification of the video card in the computer.
Does the display support two kinds of connections, another one, plus VGA?
Could be the display needs some other support for it to work. Drivers?
VRAM? A different control panel and (third-party) software?
The limits may vary due to the VRAM on the card. With enough there, and
with a VGA connection (or supported converter to/from older Mac DB-15)
and the video graphics card with minimal supported specs will show that.
Been several years since I've run any PowerMac, & only used a variety of
Apple CRT color displays with them. Most times, they were very adequate.
A wider array of original choices appeared in the Displays control panel...
So I suspect the lack of video support in the graphics card or VRAM, to be
a player in this resolution limit you see in the control panel. A later CPU/GPU
and better hardware, later Mac OS, offered greater support for newer driver
    along with better results.
There may not be a workable upgrade to a different graphic video card for
that old a vintage computer; or if there was one, to locate that now may be
a next-to-impossible mission. Was there any hints in the web site for older
Macs, the LowEndMac site, or others? Some are no longer current sites.
    In any event...
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • How to synchronize presentation on the front panel to the start of a 75Hz monitor's retrace cycle?

How to synchronize front panel presentation with the start of a retrace cycle of a 75Hz Monitor, so when a bitmap is presented 100ms, its duration is indeed 100ms on the monitor?

    Hi,
In the old days (late 90's), we used in port and out port to wait for
vertical retraces (or even horizontal retraces).
I searched the web (vertical retrace), and there seem to be lots of
    infromation and tools, like
    http://www.compuphase.com/vretrace.htm
    It uses a simple routine:
mov dx, 3dah ; VGA input status register
    vretrace_loop:
    in al, dx
    test al, 8 ; bit 3 set?
jz vretrace_loop ; no, continue waiting
But to get it working, you need a VxD. Good news is you can download it.
The also suggest you use WaitForVerticalBlank(), but dx could be hard to get
    working under LabVIEW.
Please let us know how (and if) you got it working with LabVIEW!
    Regards,
    Wiebe.

  • How do I monitor parameters from a SubVI on the front panel of the main VI?

Good day.  I have a LabView program that I am modifiying (actually it is a National Instruments demo program called Simple PID Demo).  On the Front Panel of the main VI, I need to monitor several parameters that are on a SubVI.  How do I do this?
Thank you very much for your time and help.
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
Global Variables should solve your problem.
Looks like you have to pass values  from  Sub VI that will execute continously inside a main vi.
    Look at attached VI
Hope you can implement this type of logic in your program.

alright. reformat, no longer have and fan-controlling software running, SMC reset, software update, etc. New, precise test using System Load to add a load to the cpu, Hardware Monitor for the temperatures, and TFMonitor for fan speeds. Running both CPUs at 99.5%*, the CPU fan sped up to just over 1500 rpm (HDD and ODD fans stayed relatively the same), from its resting 1198, with the temperatures maxing out at:
    PSU: 176°F (80°C)
    CPU Core 1: 164°F (74°C)
    CPU Core 2: 171°F (77°C)
System Load and Hardware Monitor (or Temperature monitor) are from: http://ciderhouse.ivory.ne.jp/wp/english/
and TF monitor is from: http://ciderhouse.ivory.ne.jp/wp/english/
Now, to someone with more experience than I, are these numbers within reasonable operating range? And if the CPU fan can go as high as 3300 rpm, why would it not go any higher than half that? (smcFanControl reported 3300 as the max before I reformatted, but after reformatting I can't seem to get it to work)
It just doesn't make sense to me. ....and I'm not fond of the heat radiating off the monitor...
*I tested it up at almost 100% because with the work I do, I often do run around there. From time to time I do 3D renders and video work, and Photoshop almost never closes on my computer.

  • I plugged my macbook pro into an external monitor, then unplugged it later and now it is stuck with black borders on top and bottom and zoomed out like it is still on the monitor. How do I fix it?

I started using my external monitor with my macbook pro and as soon as I plug it in it to the monitor it adjusts the screen by zooming out a bit and creating about 3/4 of an inch black borders on the top and bottom of the screen. But these dont show up on the monitor so I assumed it was fine. But when I took it off the monitor, the borders were still there like it was still on the monitor. Any hellp? Its starting to mess with my eyes haha.

    Hi aefulcher,
It sounds like you had the external display set to mirror the internal display so the resolution(s) were changed to match each other.
