I'm taking my cell phone out of the country. I do not plan to make or receive calls with it, and I will disable the roaming feature. But, I am wondering if I can use the GPS or access a website with it without costing lots more??

I disabled roaming on my wireless pc card and VZW Access Manager showed the network as Verizon and after 10 minutes use got a phone text msg and a email saying my international roaming charges are exceeding $50.00, and I have never had the card or laptop across the border. Calling customer service got transferred to tech support and the tech wanted to add a global plan for $25 then she said she would cancel it at the end of the billing cycle and would credit my account the remaining balance owed, how stupid do they think we are, she wouldn't transfer me back to the customer service rep or to a 2nd tier tech, just trying to weasel me into something I told her I wouldn't agree to even if it was in writing and I know how Verizon works with verbal explanations of plans, been taken that way too. I've told the reps many times that the next time a Verizon employee tries to pull a fast one they will lose a customer that has never been with another provider. It appears that Verizon's towers near the border recognize users that aren't regular users in that area and try to charge ridiculously high data rates, $50.00 for 10 minutes, then the tech tries to get you to agree to something that will get them a commission, why else would they delay crediting you the amount, which most likely is not going to actually happen anyway, and it's not in writing so not able to prove it. Well Verizon isn't getting 1 cent of that charge and depending on how they handle this they may lose a customer and have to send some poor unsuspecting employee to respond to the small claims court or just plain default. One more call to customer service is it, sorry, done playing their game by their rules.

The answer to your Pages question depends on how, and with which licence, you purchased iWork or Pages.
If you:
-Downloaded the thirty day trial of iWork, then purchased a registration number to activate it,
OR
-purchased and installed iWork from the boxed DVD retail package,
then you purchased either a one user, one machine licence, and will need to either remove the iWork applications from your iMac when you install the package on the Air, or purchase a new copy of the individual applications you want and install them on the air.
OR
you purchased a Family Licence, which permits you to install and use iWork on up to five computers owned by members of the same family, living under the same roof.
If you downloaded Pages (with or without the other iWork applications), then your licence permits you to download and install the application(s) on any compatible device attached to the same Mac app store ID as was the Mac on which it was originally installed.

There is no Google tool bar for firefox 5.0 and i want to re-install an older version of firefox so I can use the Google tool bar. please give a link to an older version or make Google update the tool bar:)

You must have a SIM card installed ( if applicable ) and have your iPhone activated to make calls or text mobile phones.

I am running Mac 10.4.11 and Safari 4.1.3. When using yahoo mail, a message appears that I need to update my browser to enable me to use the latest yahoo, and that the browser I'm using is unsupported.
I've tried downloading the new version from Yahoo but I can't complete the download. Not very good at this sort of thing so any help would be most useful.

If it's a G3, no further upgrades are available.
If it's a G4 or G5, buy a retail Mac OS X 10.5 DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay; Apple still might have copies in stock if you phone them.
If it's an Intel Mac, buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store.
Back up your data before upgrading.

I downloaded app Rxmindme (prescription timer) and it said it downloaded. Why cant I find or get the app to work?? I am buying iphone soon but I wanted to get this app to work on my alienware windows 7computer and then link it to iphone. I found Rxmindme 02.11.00 ipa, (ios App) in my computer but when I try to open it the itune program opens. I see the app in the program and it says its downloaded ------But now what do I do ?----- Please help Ive wanted this type app for a long time to remind me to take all the pills I get from VA hospital.. Apps for the iPhone do not run on Windows. You will need the iPhone to run the app.

My contacts won´t sync to the iphone. In itunes there is not even a check I can make to the contacts for syncing it says they should sync over icloud, but they won´t
Are you syncing your Mac Address Book contacts over the air with your iCloud account which is selected with your iCloud account settings on your Mac? You need to do that first followed by logging in with your iCloud account via webmail access using a browser to confirm your Mac Address Book contacts are available in your iCloud online address book.

AOL mail not updating. Spinning wheel just keeps spinning. It hasn't updated in 5 days. G-mail updates normally. I can use the AOL web site and access it on my android phone too, but not on my MacBook Pro. OS 10.6.8

When I sold my iPod I had to delete my apple account but I want to use this apple account on my soon to be new phone the iphone5S, I know you can use the same address but if I delete the account on my phone will I still be able to get it back on my new phone? And what about purchases and iBookstore? If I've purchased items will I be able to get them on my new device?
Yes, you only have to make an icloud backup on your old phone and restore from that backup on your new phone. If everything goes well, you can safely restore your old phone.

All- I get this message ("iPhone can not make or receive calls. Restore from iTunes" (happend once while on airplain mode and now once while in wifi only area, out of cell range)). iPhone 4. Newest OS. Never happened with old OS! Cycling phone on/off does not help. Ignoring message causes phone to cycle off then on. After first time this happened, I restored. Six days later...same problem! Clearly a new fix is necessary. Suggestions?
I have not tried that...I will look up the process so that I can do it correctly (and still transfer all of my files, contacts, etc). Any suggestions? What is the advantage of restoring as a new device..is this more akin to a complete wipe of a hard drive?
