I'm trying to back up my itunes library and it wont let me copy and paste my music to my external harddrive...any help??

Don't copy and paste. Use eithe disk utility to copy and in future use something like SuperDouper to incremental copy the library.

Nothing in the instructions about transferring via "HomeSharing" states to use the Import button.

What specific step are you having an issue with?
The article from which your question was posted provides details on how to transfer the iTunes library multiple ways, did you try one of the other methods?

I am locked out of my phone because I forgot my password and iTunes won't let me connect and I can't get a serial number from the ohone because it's locked.

I had forgotten my passcode on my phone and finally it said that my iPhone was disabled and that it needed to be connected to iTunes. Well for it to connect to iTunes it needed for me to respond on my iPhone but my iPhone is disabled! I'm so frustrated. And I can't get to the serial number because it's locked so I can't get ahold of Apple.

It won't let me save and quit

I'm working on a garage band file and it won't let me save and close. When I go to File>Save it's ghosted. "ok, maybe I've already saved." But when I go to close Garageband, it won't close. It just makes a sound.

Try right clicking (ctrl+click) the garageband icon in the dock and hit force quit.

I think I know what I did....my external hard drive has been used to back up my PC. I was trying to back up my iTunes on my Mac. I forgot that the formats mattered. Thanks.

You won't be able to open it on your computer, ibooks can currently only be read in the iBooks app on an iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. How were you trying to get it to your phone, syncing it by selecting it on the iPhone's Books tab when connected to your computer's iTunes, or by dragging-and-dropping it from the Books part of your iTunes library over and onto the iPhone 'device' ? Another option is to try re-downloading it directly in the iBooks app on your iPhone via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in it (re-downloading).

The iPod sees the new computer as a new iTunes library. You can only sync with one iTunes library. However, you can manage music among disfferent computers. See:

After syncing and updating my iphone my iCalendar on my computer lost most of my information. Including wiping out an entire calendar group. When trying to readd the calendar group it won't let me add events to my calendar under that category.

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

If you didn't establish a rescue email address, you will need to call applecare support. Ask for account security to reset your security questions. After the advisor is able to verify your identity, they can reset your security questions.

Always remember to 'de-authorize' you computer when selling or sending for service. If sending for repairs you might not get the same mother board or HD back and some how this counts as an authorized computer against your count.

With Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to 'Lock Rotation' have you then moved the switch on the right-hand side of the iPad above the volume control 'off' ?
Or with the switch set to control 'notification mute' you should be able to unlock rotation via the far left of the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Welcome to the Apple Community.
You might try to see if you can change your security questions. Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account > Password and Security.
I'm able to do this, others say they need to input answers to their current security questions in order to make changes, I'm inclined to think its worth a try, you don't have anything to lose.
