I'm trying to drag with a wireless mouse. But the item i'm dragging gets copied in the new location instead of moved to the new location.
If you drag to another folder it moves. If you drag to another disk, it copies.
This can be modified by certain control keys:
Command key while dragging
Move dragged item to other volume/location (pointer icon changes while key is held--see this article)
Option key while dragging
Copy dragged item (pointer icon changes while key is held--see this article)
Option-Command key combination while dragging
Make alias of dragged item (pointer icon changes while key is held--see this article)

hi, I just returned from the Apple Store in Larkspur CA and paired my wireless mouse with one of their computers, but it's won't pair with mine at home. Bluetooth is on and it recognizes the wireless keyboard, see's the wireless mouse but won't pair.

All of my purchases from iTunes are stored on my iPhone and taking up all of my memory. I want to store the music in iCloud if possible, but I can't get it to work. I tried to sync my phone to iTunes, but the library on my computer is all screwed up! I backed up my library to my harddrive, but now a lot of the songs aren't there and the ones that are there have multiple duplicates! If I try to sync my phone to my computer I'm afraid it will sync to the current library on my computer and I will lose all of the music on my phone! HELP this is driving me crazy!
There's a menu choice (I think under "Files") that lets you sync purchased items on a device back to itunes. Look for that.
iCloud does not store music. If you want to do that you'd have to subscribe to itunes Match, but to get music to the match servers, you need the music in the itunes library on your computer. -

IPhone trying to mate with Microsoft wireless mouse.
I know this is hard to believe, but when my iPhone is within 2 feet of my Dell PC, I can move the cursor on the computer. But once the iPhone realizes that it has a captive audience it starts moving through menus, clicking, moving to new items. I thought I was under attack or that the microsoft wireless mouse was going ballistic.

Hello-
I am trying to project a film from an ipad mini with a vga cable to a projector. When tested, the film played, but the ipad did not mirror what was being projected, it was a black screen. I am trying to be able to mirror the devices AND figure out how isolate the window so I can use different menus with the film still playing.
Any one know an app or softward that i can use?

ChristieTo move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
and select the Library that you moved. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
Your first option didn't work because you imported one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
Your second option didn't work because you simply referenced her library on the old machine.

I am trying to log onto my wireless connection but it keeps telling me I'm unable to locate any wireless network. I know there are several networks nearby. Is this a problem with my phone or my router?
I found a solution that has worked on both iPhone 4's I have that have had the same issues, and also including not being able to download updates in the App store.
Go to Settings > WiFi and turn it OFF.
Next go to General > Cellular > Cellular Data and turn it OFF
Next go back to Settings > WiFi and turn it ON, (wait a few seconds for it to sync with your network)
Finally go back to General > Cellular > Cellular Data and turn it ON.
I had the same issues on both my wife's phone, and my own, and it fixed it immediately without changing any proxy settings or reboots, (which I did try on my phone and did not work, but did not try on my wife's phone)

I can ping through to the WLC and the AP.Thanks a lot Loe for the Feedback. The issue was not my configuration but rather the type of Wireless LAN controller I have, the WLC does not support my AP's. I have a Cisco 520 series WLC and got to know they only work with the 500 series AP's. my AP's are 1130 series meaning i have to get another controller or change the APs.

I am trying to log onto a Mac Mini I haven't used in awhile and I forgot the password. I am trying to reset the password with my apple ID but the computer keeps saying the Apple ID and the password are incorrect whenever I know they are, as I am using the exact same ID right now.
I have switched my password in the past, so my theory is my mac mini thinks that my password has not changed and it will not update because The Wi-Fi password has also changed so it cannot connect to any servers...Does that sound like I am on the right track?
Is there a way to update my Wi-Fi password (saved into the computer) without logging on?If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
Otherwise, boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, type this:
resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select
▹ Restart
from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but your Keychain will be reset (empty.) If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it. -
my iPhone 4 will no longer charge. It is also not recognised in iTunes. There seems to be a problem with the connector slot. I've tried other cables and other computers/plugs but the connection is not being made. Any suggestions?

I'm trying to set up a dual monitor for my new iMac. I'm using a second display I used with my old G5. My iMac recognizes the second monitor but the monitor won't turn on. Power button doesn't do anything on the monitor itself.
If it won't turn on then the monitor is dead (power supply?, video circuits?). Not worth repairing.
If you have a new iMac then it has thunderbolt. So exactly what is that monitor you are trying to connect? For TB you can connect a mini-displayport monitor. Probably (not 100% sure with TB) can use dvi or vga too if you have the appropriate adapter. -
Upon sync or backup, I receive the message, "iTunes could not back up the iPhone "iPhone name" because and error occurred. I have deleted my backup file and tried another computer, with no success. Also, the bluetooth function stopped working.
