I NEED HELP GETTIN MY RINGTONES BACK ON MY PHONE !!!!! I DONT HAVE A COMPUTER

If you've deleted them from your phone and you don't have a computer that you copied them over to and took a backup copy of them, then if they are still in the store and you haven't changed countries since buying them then you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a redownload : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
Or if they were bought whilst your phone was on iOS 8.1.1. : Restore missing tones on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 8.1.1 - Apple Support

How do I get my ringtones back on my phone?
I lost my ringtones from my phone when I upgraded to iOS 6 on my iPhone 4.  The ringtones are still on my computer and play in iTunes, but they won't re-transfer back to the phone.  I'm using the correct iTunes account on both my computer and phone.  In the iPhone view of iTunes on my computer, it shows that my phone recognizes that I had those ringtones, but there is an exclamation mark showing that my phone can't find the files.  I can't delete these "placeholders" from my phone with the hopes of re-transfering the files back to the phone, either.  I cannot just simply re-transfer the files from my computer back to the phone.  It won't let me using the regular synch options and I can't find anything in the menus of iTunes to help me out either.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Ignore.  I figured it out:)

So why doesn't Apple tell you that ICloud won't back up your ringtones?  It states " Automatically bck up your camera roll, accounts, documents and settings when IPhone is plugged in, locked, and connected to WiFi" Nowhere does it state it doesn't back up ringtones.  If it backs up my music, then why doesn't it back up ringtones? I had my ringtones on my ITunes, but when I updated that, they are gone too!  It just seems to me Apple is trying to purposely get you to continuously purchase their services, even when you go out your way to back them up. Had I known this, I would have backed everything up on my PC again. This is very disappointing.

  • I can not get my ringtone back on my phone.  what am I doing wrong?

I can not seem to get my ringtone to play.  I have been messing with this off and on for a month.  What am I doing wrong? It shows on my bill where I am paying for it but my phone is still playing the horrid classical music.

It sounds like you are trying to activate your ringBACK tone - log on to your account, and go to Manage Ringback tones.  Is the tone you want to use actually there?  Set it as the default, and save or update the settings.  One other poster suggested setting as the default for each day of the week and that seemed to get things set up correctly for him/her.
You can always call customer service (800) 922-0204, option 4 for Other, then say AGENT at the prompt to be connected to a live person as quickly as possible.  There may be something that needs to be reset on their end to get your ringback tone playing for your callers.

I recently updated my iphone software to 6.0.1 and my ringtones did not get restored.  The ringtones are lised in my library but I can't get them added to my phone. When I click on the button to sync my phone, it does nothing.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try unchecking the tones and syncing, then re-checking them and syncing again.

  • ** How do I get my ringtones back and pictures?

It took me 3 hours to update my ipnone4. Then I lost all my pictures, apps, and music. I was able to reinstall my apps and didn't have to pay for them. I was also able to get my music put back on, however the ringtones I paid for I couldn't. The pictures I suppose were my fault for not saving them before I did the update. But I've only had this phone for 3 months and I'm still trying to understand some of the quarks that it has.
Please help me. How do I get my ringtones back?  And are my pictures lost for good?

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Yes the wipe would delete all personal data settings as a security feature designed in the device.
Unless you have used the Blackberry desktop software to get a full backup of the device prior to the wipe the data is gone. If you do have the backup file you can restore the data via the desktop manager.
    Thanks,

  • I had to exchange my iphone how do I get my ringtones back?

I just bought an iphone and i downloaded one ringtone from itunes on the phone. I had to exchange the phone because of some problems with it. I can't figure out how to get my ringtone back. It says that I purchased it, but its not in downloads on the new iphone or on my itunes on my computer.

Did you download through the computer or directly onto the iPhone?
If it was direct on the iPhone-did you transfer it to iTunes by using "transfer purchases"?
If it is not showing up in iTunes-you did not back it up in iTunes and will have to repurchase it.

About a month ago I was trying to get the pics off my husbands phone into our icloud for printing. It recognized it as my ipod and synced to that, erasing all of his pics. We had just been on a trip to Tahiti and there were alot of pics lost. I spoke to a representative at the apple store on Friday that recommended trying something since it was backed up to my icloud. She was wanted me to try to restore the device back to that date or before. Any tips on how to do this? I have trouble right clicking and am not seeing what she was talking about. • HT201272 I updated my IPhone and it took away all music including my ring tones. I have been able to recover the songs but my ringtones are not showing under purchased. How do I get my ringtones back?

I updated my phone and all my music, including rigntones went away. I was able to recover my songs under purchased. My ringtones are not showing under purcahsed. How do I get my ringtones back?

I don't understand this answer. What do you mean " your contacts should be in whatever program/service you have selected to sync."? The address book is created on the phone not in Itunes or any other program/service. When Itunes says backing up phone I have to assume it backs up everything on the phone. Most of what's on my phone does not come out of itunes. I download apps directly on the phone. When the software updates it does not bring those apps back. I have to go into the appstore and install them all over again. Itunes music library syncs with whatever is on the device your linked up to BUT the phone book just dissappears after you update the phone. There is no way to save it anywhere else.

From my post on what seems like the same issue (found here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/21087892#21087892)
    Take the following steps:
    1) while connected to wifi, toggle off then back on the Show All Music and iTunes Match options shown in my original post. Important: I did this step before, but wasn't connected to wifi, and my music disappeared. Subsequently, I connected to wifi and turned off and then back on those options and everything came back though it was grayed out and my only option was to download music.
    2) To get streaming over cellular back, go into Settings>General>Cellular and scroll down to the "Use Cellular Data for:" options and make sure the iTunes option is set to 'On'
The above steps will bring back the streaming capability which seemed to go away when you update to 6.1. It didn't ACTUALLY go away, but something about the update toggled off the iTunes option in step 2 above.
I did a final test by turning off wifi, opening Music app and selecting a song. It played successfully without downloading! Crossing my fingers, but I think I'm good to go!
    Hope this helps!
