I'm trying to install adobe illustrator 8.0.1 in Intelbase Imac 09 but I can't ?? not

I'm trying to install Adobe illustrator 8.0.1 in a Apple Intel base Imac but I can't open it because it says " classic environment is not longer supported" what's this? how can I solve it? seems to be the problem is because is an older version of Adobe Illustrator, do you know if is possible to install it? or should I buy a new version? thank you for your help

To answer your questions, you cannot install Illustrator 8 on iMac 2009 since that old version was made for the old Mac OS 8-9 systems. Intel Macs run OS X 10.5 and higher. The last version of OS X was 10.4 that supported those programs that ran in the "Classic" system emulator on the PowerPC processor Macs. Since the Intel processor Macs came out, OS 8-9 "Classic" system programs were not supported and "Classic" is not and will not be made available to run old programs.You can get the SheepSaver emulator that will run under OS X 10.5 Leopard and run your "Classic" program but I have not used it and it would be a bit flaky in the stability area, from my understanding.
So in essence you have to upgrade.
Now, since Adobe doesn't have the liberal upgrade policies like in the past, you can't directly upgrade to Illustrator CS4 from 8.0. You need CS1 to be eligible to upgrade. In that case, you will have to get a copy of Illustrator CS1 Upgrade from a 3rd party, like on eBay or Lemswap Group on Google. Then you can register that and get on the upgrade path to CS4 Upgrade. Adobe is very good at allowing you to do this. I can explain further how to purchase software on eBay, I've done it for years safely and upgraded that way and saved lots of money as long as you take precautions while doing it.
Or bite the bullet and get CS4 non-upgrade.

Try downloading it and then run the installer.

I've been having problems with my internet timing out when I try to access pages & firefox says I may have an old version of adobe flash player which is unstable so I've been trying to install a new version. Firefox then says theres missing plugins but when I click on the install missing plugins button it says no suitable plugins were found so I don't know how to get it to install AFP

Try this simple fix... I just got it to work...

This fix doesn't solve the auto-update issue in Firefox, but at least your Flash will hopefully work again in Firefox until a more permanent fix is made available from Mozilla...

Hello - I am trying to remove Bing as my default engine. I have tried all of the methods suggested on the web and nothing has worked. I tried to install the add on SearchReset suggested on Mozilla support. I've tried to download it several times but it's not showing up on my toolbar or add on manager so I'm unable to run it. Any suggestions on how to run this add on?
I've tried "troubleshooting information > reset firefox" and I get an error message each time before the reset completes. I've also run a scan for malware and haven't found anything. I'm desperate to remove Bing!

i recently bought the cs3 design premium and when I go to install illustrator it tells me to insert illustrator cs4.
I had the cs4 demo on my computer and I uninstalled it but I am still getting this message.

I am new to using a Mac ,so forgive me if I mess up a bit. I have a Powerbook G4 running OSX 10.4.4 and am having a hard time trying to install Adobe Illustrator CS2. When I follow the instructions on how to install it and click on the setup.exe file, it asks for an application to open it up with.It has no idea what to use to install with. I have no idea on what to use as an application. I tried several programs found on the laptop, but none worked. is there an application or applications that I can use in order to install the program or download and install?. I have installed other programs on the laptop and they installed fine. I have run all the updates to the operating system.If you need any more information, please let me know and thanks!

Strange :s ... usually when you insert the disc, a folder from the disc opens up to show ONLY mac realted files.
Open your disc icon and choose the folder with the Mac OS X icon. The MAC installer should be right there.

I am trying to install Adobe Photoshop to a second computer

I am trying to install Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 to a second computer but it is telling me that it is already saved to a 2nd. This is incorrect, when i installed to the 1st computer i later had a technical failure and the computer needed to be shut down and then rebooted. I think when this happened the programme could have been lost and is now why it thinks its been used twice. Please can you advise me on what best action to take? Trying to remove Adobe Illustrator CS3 for a re-install

I am trying to remove Adobe Illustrator CS3 for a re-install but have come across some problems in the process.
I am working in Windows XP SP2
When I go to uninstall, the Adobe screen won't let me proceed because updates have been made to the software since I've installed it. However, I can't get into Illustrator because of a "fatal serial number error" (I do have the purchased software -- it's not pirated).
Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Problem with installing adobe illustrator cs6?

I am having trouble installing adobe illustrator cs6.When it gets to 2% it says "the setup encountered an error (37) during install. Please restart the machine and try again." I tried restarting my computer but it still shows that message.
Also at the beginning it said "Installer has detected that a machine restart may be pending.It is recommended that you quit the installer, restart and try again" and i clicked ignore and continue.
When i installed adobe photoshop cs6 last year it was successful.

The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

I fear that you are trying to download OLDER Software on a newer Operating Sysytem Meaning that you need to Install the Latest Version of Adobe on the Newer Operating System for it to work Properly. Be sure to always check the minimum System Requirements.

Trying to install Adobe Photoshop elements 8 on MAC 10.6.8

Trying to install Adobe Photoshop elements 8 (that I bought a while ago and never installed) on my MacBook Pro, Intel Core 2 Duo, OS 10.6.8.
When I insert the PS Elements Disk, a PSE page came up with Read me etc which I read. I clicked on the blue PSE folder and a window with Bootstrapper.dmg came up. I clicked on that and a window opened asking me to type in my administrator passsword to allow Setp to make changes, which I did, twice... and then nothing happened...
Is there something else I am suppose to do? OH, another mounted drive appeared in Finder with a long name... "EFBB...........". When I opened it, it had an assets folder and two .js files (whatever they are)...
What more do I have to do?

I think I figued it out... But why installations instructions didn't come up when I inserted the disk was very annoying. And because they didn't, Adobe should post th installations instructions somewhere on their support site. Not here now, which is also annoying.
