I m trying to install microsoft xp on my new Mac

I m trying to install microsoft xp on my new Mac, however after completing the xp installation it now say i need to have windows 7 instead of xp and hence i m not able to use my Mac OS now . Please let me know if I can use xp or in worst case scenario if I need to reinstall window please let me know how to do that now ?

boot from mac os dvd, go until top meny appears, select disk utility from there, repair HD in whole, quit disk utilities, run startup disk, select OS X to boot from, quit, quit installer
it will reboot in mac os x, go utilities - bootcamp assistant, remove bootcamp partition, reboot
select one of VM solutions:
VMWare or Parallels - commercial
VirtualBox - free
Use it.
I personally don't like other variants like Wine etc
