I'm trying to move my itunes from one computer to another, but in syncing my ipod to to computer, it only loaded the songs I bought from the itunes store. I have around two hundred songs which were not put onto my new laptop in itunes. Is there a way?

I'm not sure if my question entirely made sense. Basically I had an ipod nano and itunes on my family desktop, but my nano got stolen and I got a laptop for college. I synced all of my music from the desktop to my new ipod touch to replace the nano. I was told by a friend that I would sync my ipod to up to five different computers, and that snycing my ipod would put all of my music onto the itunes I downloaded onto my laptop. I dad everything, but the music i bought from itunes has transfered. That leaves me with around 200 songs I got from CD's which did not transfer. Is there a way to get these non-intunes store bought songs into my newly downloaded itunes library?

I PURCHASED A NEW PHONE LAST WEEK BUT NOT ABLE TO SINC SONGS WHICH WERE NOT PURCHASED FROM I TUNE- HELP

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.
    As IO said before:
You can redownload most iTunes pruchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
I do not think it included audio books.

  • I have recently upgraded to the iPhone 4 I have lost two hundred purchased songs off iTunes now how do I get them back?

Please can you help me to get my songs back. I have no access to the computer I backed them up on. Obviously I have purchased alot of songs therefore would appreciate it if I could get them back.
    Thanks

All iTunes content on your iPhone - all music, movies, tv shows, and apps should be in your iTunes library on your computer - the computer used for syncing your iPhone with, and your iTunes library should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data.
You get the songs back with the computer where the songs are located with your iTunes library.
If the computer is no longer available or accessible and you didn't include your iTunes library with your computer's backup, your purchased songs are gone - unless the songs purchased from the iTunes store are available on a previous iPhone that is available and working.

  • My itouch has many songs that will not download to my new laptop

I purcased these songs an had them downloaded to old computer but that hard drive died. tried to upload these songs to mew computer-only about 150/350 downloaded. Th itunes library doesnt show these songs either-What to do?

Thanks, but my problem is that the Apple store only shows ~180 of the songs I know I purchased. I have2X more than that that were purchased but no longer show up in the store. They are on my IPOD touch though. When I sync my itouch with the new computer, only those songs that show up in the Itunes library as purchased show upon the computer-all the others do not.
Additionally, I am prompted to download an updated OS into the Itouch and then the Itouch says wait there are songs not uploaded to the computer do that first-but it won't let me do that when I sync.
    What can I do?

  • I have 5 devices (4 of which are smart phones) on 3 contracts (same account).  Is there any way to consolidate (IE Combine Contracts)?

I have 3 different "contracts" with Verizon, all under the same account.
    Contract 1 - 2 Samsung Galaxy S3's
    Contract 2 - 2 Samsung Galaxy S3's
Contract 3 - Voice / Text Only Device (Samsung Trace?)
Is it possible to roll all 5 of these devices into a single contract?

The More Everything plans are usually better especially if you ave 3 or more smartphones. My bill is totally over $300 as well. I share it with my 2 brothers and one of my sisters. This makes what we pay less than if we were all on our own. You would have lost your unlimited data when you upgraded but the ME plan is goo for those families where one device uses more data than another. With individual data plans at $30 each for 2gb your bill would have been roughy the same and you can't transfer unused data from one line to another. This could result in overage charges.  The biggest downside to the ME plan is your basic phone being 30 a month. Who uses that phone? I ask because there may be other options.

  • How do I relocate missing songs that were originally put onto my iTunes from a CD?

Obviously I can't just navigate through my folders on my pc as the missing tracks were put into my iTunes via multiple CDs. How (without re-importing all my CD's) do I relocate all my songs/albums.
    Thanks
    Tom

It all depends on why they are lost and whether you have any form of backup or device that might hold them. It might help to identify which files are lost to iTunes which you can do with this set of playlists:
    Lost & Found playlists
Create a playlist called Found, select everything in Music and drag it into the Found playlist. Create a smart playlist called Lost matching All the rules Playlist is Music and Playlist is not Found. Your lost tracks will be in this playlist.
Follow my instructions from the first post with a single missing file. Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. It will begin file://localhost and end with the filename. Search your entire computer for that filename. If it can be found then where it is might explain why they went missing and how they might be recovered. If it can't be found at all, you could try a few more. Failing that at least you know from the Lost playlist what CDs you need to rerip.

  • Can't update iPhoto and other apps after upgrading to Yosmite.  Bought the computer at a Mac Store complete with iPhoto, iMovie, Numbers, Pages etc so the App store sayes we can't upgrade because these were not purchased through the App store.

Until this gets resolved we can't access iPhoto or my iPhoto library.  Unfortunately didn't back up my photos before we "upgraded" to Yosmite.  Any ideas?

You need to update the information regarding what Mac this is and what version of OS X you're running.
You show a PB G4, which won't run the Mac App Store.

  • HT201543 how do i get my old itune library onto my new laptop, my old laptop is broken but all media is on my phone. Most of the songs are from CD's which i no longer have. HELP!

How do I get my old iTunes library onto my new laptop? My old laptop is broken but all media is on my phone. Most of the songs are from CD's which I no longer have. HELP!

That is not necessarily true. You are allowed to make a back-up of media you own and, at least in the Netherlands, even a copy of a work you've borrowed from a library. The law expressly permits this and you pay a certain amount for recordable media to allow for home use.  See http://www.thuiskopie.nl/nl for this.  If you then decide to destroy the media, i.e. do not transfer the media to someone else, I don't see how you infringe copyright by keeping the back-up. But I guess some so-called creatives like the idea of making money in all kinds of hypothetical ways...
It is a nice dream, where you have to work once and then earn a lot of money by selling millions of copies from your work. But buyers can make copies too!! Hahahahahaha!

  • In I06, I have no way of knowing which songs are on my iphone 4s vs being stored in the cloud. There used to be a small cloud next to songs that were not downloaded. This was important to make sure I had the music I wanted when in an airplane.

In the new i06 that I just loaded into my 4s, I have no way of knowing which songs are on my iphone vs stored in the cloud. There used to be a small cloud next to songs that were not on the phone. This is an important piece of information if you are a frequent traveller, as most of the flights I am on don't have onboard wifi, so it becomes a crap shoot as to what I will have available to listen to.
Is there a way I can view what songs are actually stored locally?

Go to Settings > Music and set "show all music" to OFF.

  • I was trying to move my itunes to an external hard drive and I have now lost all music not purchased with itunes

I was trying to move my music to an external hard drive but now I have lost all music that was not purchased with itunes. I never hit delete so its still somewhere on my imac. How do I find it?

Do a Spotlight search or do a logical search along folders that make sense such as looking in the music folder first.  Moving a library correctly should not result in any loss, and I can't think of any way to move a library and lost just a select grouping of files.  How were you trying to effect this?

  • Ok, so i downloaded three albums (sic) and discovered the next day that on two of them there were songs which did not completely download.  I quickly reported it and expected a reply within 24 hrs but Ive heard nothing back and now I cannot re-report it .

You can try to contact iTunes Store Support via http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
Click the big blue button and follow the prompts.
You can also try downloading the songs again.  Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

I have never rented a movie in iTunes and tried to move it to my iPad, but according to the instructions on this website, you click on - Sync.

  • Backing up my iphone - onto new computer - so I lose all songs I did not purchase on itunes? If I copied CDs into itunes on an old computer that I don't have access to anymore and I upgrade my software to 5.0 I lose anything not on the new computer itune?

So my home computer decided to quit... I am trying to start using my work computer more now. I have itunes with a library of only 150 songs. My iphone has over 550 songs. Even after I sync my phone to my new computer and mark items purchased to be sync it doesn't increase on itunes. I know I've purchased songs on my iphone so that is my first problem...
Next, at home I copied CDs onto itunes which I sync'd onto my iphone. Am I right that I will lose all these songs now when I update my software?
    To summarize:
I have no way to back up songs that were not purchased on itunes?
How do I sync my iphone purchases into itunes correctly (since it isn't working now)
Will I lose content from my iphone, if it doesn't show up on itunes before I update my software to 5.0?
    Am I making sense?

iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Since your updating from iOS 4 to iOS 6, you will most likely lose your songs, but if songs were purchased from iTunes, you can try this:
Downloading past purchases from App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
You can redownload from iTunes on your iTouch, if running iOS 5 or better.
