I'm trying to save user name and password on a site with a pop-up for a login screen but it clears too quickly after submitting to reach the remember pw button.

When I log in to point click care, for example, the site requires a password to electronically sign a document. This has the option to store the password immediately after clicking the "sign" button but the whole window clears as soon as I submit it which consequently clears the remember password dialogue box therein. I would like to manually add the password to the list, is it possible? Can it be made possible? Several hundred of these a month and typing an involved password gets pretty old.

Do you still see the Key icon on the location/address bar to open the remember password doorhanger?

  • How to save user name and password on client tool

    Hi,
In our landscape, few users are using webi rich client tool to work offline. They are entering login credentials manually everytime. Is there any way to save the user id and password, so that user can login without manually entering the login credentials everytime. Please find below my system details. Please anyone help is highly appreciated.
    System Details:
    Server: BOBI 4.1 SP2
    Client tool : BOBI 4.1 SP2
    Authentication type : Windows AD
    Thanking you in anticipation
    Obinna.

    Hello,
    oh yes it is!
The Question is for which Front- Ends?
For the WRC you dont have to do anything as long as the Information under "System" is correct and "Windows AD" is selected under "Authentication. Leave "Username" and "Password" blank.
Just hit "OK" and you are logged in.
    Regards

  • Defalt User name and password

My grandson is having problems with his wireless unit. He thinks he needs the original defalt user name and password to get it all straightened out. Does anyone know how to find this information?  Thanks for any help.
    Chuck

    What router are you using?
For most Linksys routers, the default user name should be left blank, and the default password is "admin"   (with no quotes).
On some Linksys routers, the default user name and password are both "admin"  (with no quotes).
For more details, you can download a User Guide for your router, from Linksys.com

  • I'm on a web site that requires a user name and password to enter the site., but Firefox has never asked me if I want to save this info. Is it possible to do this even though Firefox never asked me?

This is the only site that Firefox has not asked me to save user name and password.

The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

  • WLAN network always prompts for user name and password...

    Hi,
Everytime Airport detects the WLAN of my institution, it prompts "Authenticating to network" and I have to put in my user name and password. Is there any way to store this information (probably in the keychain) so that an automatic login to the WLAN [as in my home network] is possible? The problem is that I can not find any button like "save this password in the keychain" [you can only put in user name and password]. Is it possible that my institution prevents automatic login?
I also tried to create an item in the keychain directly - does not work.
    Cheers

    Hi,
I agree in that there has to be a prompt for WLAN access. Otherwise just everyone could step by and use the access. But if I have to authenticate once, why should the institution prevent an automatic login for me in the future? Well, okay, if someone steals my notebook and knows my master password... hmm, so there is no way to locally (on my notebook) use some software that automatically puts in my user name and password so that I - maybe - only have to push the "Go/Enter/Access" button?
For example, some institutions use browsers to authenticate and 1Password, but also Safari natively, can automatically fill in the information.
    Cheers

  • I can't set up Time Machine---Help! What "User Name" and password do I use

I finally got the Time Capsule and installed Leopard, but now that I'm trying to set up Time Machine, it's asking for a user name and password. I've entered the admin user name and password to my computer with no luck, then tried the name of the Time Capsule and the password for that, no luck there either. What the heck is it looking for? Thank you for any help you can give me!!!!

Hey, I got left and right confused late one night No problem.
I mentioned it only because I once used that software and only because I checked it before upgrading to Leopard did I realize it didn't work too well, even with Tiger.
LaCie makes great hardware, but in the software area they are a bit soft.

  • Http connection with user name and password

    Hello All,
I'm trying to open http connection from my application on the 8100 device and i'm getting an error message saying that the port number isn't valid. I'm trying to add user name and password to the prefix of the url (e.g.: http://[email protected]/dir/)
and the error message appears, but when i'm using the same url without the user name and password everything works great.
Does anyone knows what's wrong or encountered this issue before?
    thanks.

    hello,
I believe when you input the credentials, the website does a redirection to another port that is not supported by your internet access provider ?

  • Safari 3.2.1 User Names and Password Retention

Despite having checked the box in autofill to save user names and passwords, Safari no longer asks me whether I want to save them in the keychain. Also, I wonder if there is a different kind of glitch, as my screen for that window (under edit) does not show anything except remove and *remove all* and done. It has nothing for me to add user names and passwords if I wanted to do so manually. How can I convince Safari to memorize these user names and passwords? I've saved them for months, but all of a sudden they seem to have decided to take a long vacation.

Do you suggest the one about Safari Forms Autofill or some other one?
Leave the Safari Forms alone. Instead, delete any specific keychain entry relative to a web site with which you are having a problem. To facilitate the search, use the Spotlight Panel within the Keychain Access app. by typing in part or all of the related site name. When the entry appears, simply click on it, then press the delete key.
Regarding your comment about Safari's Auto-Fill, not sure what would automatically deselect this function within Safari. Might be a corrupt Safari preference file. To create a new file, go to the Finder: Your User Account>Library>Preferences folder. There, move the com.apple.safari.plist file to the trash, then restart Safari. You'll need to reestablish any custom settings in System Preferences, plus in Safari's View Menu.

  • I'm trying to access a forum that requires a user name and password.  When I do it on my mac it tells me the password is incorrect but when I do it on my iPad, I can access it without any problem.  I can confirm the username and password are the same

I am trying to access a forum for which you need a username and password but it keeps telling me the username/password i've entered are incorrect.  Bizarrely, when I enter the same username/password combination on my iPad, it grants access without any problem.
What could be causing this, is it an issue with cookies, caches or similar.  How can I resolve it?  The forum administrator is at a loss as to what the problem is.

Try the following steps in Safari to see if they help:
    1) First try clearing the Safari cache.  To do this pull down the Safari menu and select 'Empty cache...', then try logging into the site again.
    2) If the issue continues then reset Safari by pulling down the Safari menu and select'Reset Safari...'. You will be presented with a list of items that can be reset. I suggest selecting the 'Reset saved names and passwords', and 'Remove all website data' options at a minimum.
Here is a list of the options and what they do. I pulled it from the Safari help page.
    Clear history:
Clears the list of webpages you viewed.
    Reset Top Sites:
Clears any changes you made to Top Sites, such as adding or pinning sites. If you also clear your history, your Top Sites page reverts to showing the webpage previews displayed when you first installed Safari.
    Remove all webpage preview images:
Clears any thumbnail images Safari saved of webpages you viewed.
    Clear the Downloads window:
Clears the list of files you downloaded from websites. Only the names are removed; the files themselves are still on your disk until you remove them.
    Remove all website icons:
Removes website icons, which are small graphics that help identify sites on the Internet. You see them in the Safari address field and bookmarks list, and other places. These icons are stored on your computer.
    Remove saved names and passwords:
Removes user names and passwords that Safari automatically fills in at websites that require them (if the AutoFill feature is turned on).
    Remove other AutoFill form text:
Removes some personal information, such as telephone numbers, that Safari uses to automatically fill in forms on webpages (if the AutoFill feature is turned on). Removing AutoFill information does not remove information from your address book.
    Close all Safari windows:
If you don’t close all Safari windows, someone could use the Back and Forward buttons to view the webpages you visited.
    Reset all location warnings:
Clears any information websites saved about your location.
    Remove all website data:
Removes cookies, tracking information, and other data that websites stored on your computer.

I upgraded to lion. I now have the spinning wheel on the startup screen when I try to enter my user name and password. I tried shutting down and restarting, no luck

    Reinstalling Lion Without the Installer
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

  • Firefox will not save my user name and password for one of my sites. How can I fix this problem. It is getting annoying having to reenter every time I check this site. Is there a solution.

I had my user name and password saved for my library site. My grandson hit something and now the saved user name and password are gone. It asks me every time to enter it and it is getting annoying. How do I fix this. I want Firefox to remember these codes.

You can create a bookmark with the JavaScript code via a right-click on the "Remember Password" link on the squarefree.com website and choose "Bookmark This Link" and select the "Bookmarks Toolbar" as the destination folder for easy access.
    * https://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/forms.html#remember_password
You need to use the "Remember Password" bookmarklet before or after filling the name and password field on the website with the <u>login form</u>, but before submitting the login form by clicking a button on the web page.
If the site is using autocomplete="off" then you see a number not equal to 0 (i.e. attributes were removed) in the pop-up alert from the bookmarklet and Firefox should offer to remember the name and password via a drop down dialog of the key icon that will appear on the location bar (Firefox 4+) or via an info bar at the top (Firefox 3).
