I'm trying to set up iCloud on my iphone

when I go to the settings page in my iphone for icloud, it states that "accound not verified".  It says to check my email address for futher instructions.  Well nothing has been sent to my email, and even if I remove my account from the phone and try again from scratch, I get nothing.  Very frustrating

Check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox for the email account you used to set up the Apple ID you are using for iCloud.  If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.
You should get an email like the one below, and need to click on Verify Now to verifiy the account.

Have you already verified your "new" email address? If not then please check your inbox for a confirmation email (also the junk folder). If you do not have a confirmation email then please sign in at https://appleid.apple.com and press "verify" for confirming your email address.

  • Trying to set up iCloud on my iPhone 4. It's trying to use an old Apple ID that I no longer use. It would let me put in my current Apple ID

I am trying to set up iCloud on my iPhone 4. It wants me to use an old Apple ID that I dont use any more. It won't let me change it to my current Apple ID. How can I fix this?

    Hi bluegirl26,
Borrowing a step from this account troubleshooting article, here is how you can change the signed in iCloud Apple ID:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3988
Ensure that you are actively logged in to iCloud with your Apple ID on your iOS device, Mac, or PC:
    iOS 5 or later:
    Tap Settings > iCloud.
Review the iCloud settings to ensure the account is set up properly.
    Cheers,

I am trying to set up i cloud for my i phone 5 - its asking for my PIN.   Where do I find my pin, what is it?  I need to get this set up quickly.  Please help!

What did you download to your phone?  You set up iCloud by going to Settings>iCloud and entering your Apple ID to create the account, then turn on the data you want to sync with iCloud, as explained here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ios.html.

  • I am trying to set up iCloud on iPhone 5

Hello, I've been trying to set up iCloud on my iPhone 5 and iPad3 and running into the same problem message at top of screen saying "account not verified".
"check your email for instructions to verify this account".   When I check my email, there are no messages from Apple with instructions?  Help please?? Thank you!

Set the iPhone up as a new iphone (no restore from backup). Next update the iPhone to iOS 8.1.1. Finally renter Setup by chosing Settings > General  > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. You will now be able to setup using your backup.

"Verify your account. This Apple ID's email address cannot be verified. Change your apple ids email address at appleid.apple.com to sig into i cloud"
My apple id has been alive and in use for years on iTunes etc. I have tried a different address and password and still get the same result

If your email address is valid, just go to https://appleid.apple.com/, click "Manage your account" to the right, sign in, click  Name, ID, and Email Addresses to the left, then click "Verify now" next to your email address.  Apple will send you an email to this address with a verification link.  Otherwise add an alternate email address that can be verified.

In order to use your Apple ID to create an iCloud account, the primary email address associated with the ID must first be verified.  To do this, Apple will send a verification email to your account and you must respond to the email by clicking the Verify Now link.  Make sure you are check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox.  If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.

  • Trying to set up iCloud on my MacBook Pro, and I get to the point where it tells me to view my email for further instructions to verify acct, but I have no email in my inbox, even after resending multiple times.

Trying to set up iCloud on my MacBook Pro, and I get to the point where it tells me to view my email for further instructions on verification of my account, but there is no such email in my inbox, even after submitting multiple requests to resend the email. Any idea what I can do? Mark

Well, running on a 2006 model.  I did not have a startup disc.  Initially, it booted up on original software in 2006.  Since then, I've upgraded to 10.6 via a box set.  And, since then I think I popped it up to lion.
All I have on a disc is snow leopard.  And, I can't get farther than the setup screen due to hard drive.  I'm taking to a apple authorized repair store right now.  We'll see what they tell me .  I'm just going to weigh the cost of repair vs. buying new.
Another bad, stupid thing is I had no means of backing up my stuff.  So, I might have lost things like music, vids, etc.  we'll see if they can recover.  If the cost is too much for repair I might just forget it and start over with a new system.  Just not sure at this point.

  • I am trying to set up iCloud keychain, but it keeps sending the verification code to my land line, even tho I have gone into my apple account and changed to my mobile phone

I am trying to set up Icloud keychain, but it keeps sending the verification code to my land line (which I guess I entered back when I first got my MacBook).  I have gone into my apple account and changed the # to my mobile phone, but it continued to send it to the land line.  Probably is something simple, but I am not a techy!!

    Hi,
As regardss to the iChat and iChat Sharing categorisation you have used.
In iChat 6 (lion) and Messages (Mountain Lion) the apps login to AIM and to Me.com
The Login to Me.com allows AIM to verify the password to the iCloud issued names (@me.com and @iCloud.com)
This "Dual" login also prevents the newer iCloud issued name from using this site
(it has extra Privacy settings that iChat can't access for your AIM and Aim valid Accounts)
Ignoring the @mac.com and MobileMe entries in the Add Account Screen in iChat and using the AIM one does not get around this issue.
AIM and @mac.com names still work in older versions of iChat.
The short answer is that iCloud issued Apple IDs do not work in iChat 5 or Earlier.

  • I am trying to set up iCloud on my iMac - how can I do it?

I am trying to set up iCloud on my iMac. When I follow the Apple instructions and go to "System Preferences" I do not have an icon for iCloud but I do have MobileMe icon. Can anyone help me?

The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mavericks preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is non non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
To make use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
      and the supported models are:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
