I'm trying to sync my contacts to my icloud ac

Im trying to sync my contacts to my icloud account. however the iphone has now set up a second contacts group called icloud from what i have always used MobileMe.
The MobileMe has over 100 contact whereas icloud has 1, me. how do i transfer/copy my contacts in the MobileMe group to the iCloud group and then delete the MobileMe group?

Highly unlikely, unless you possibly meant Outlook 2007, even that would be a stretch.
If the contacts are in Exchange, why bother with syncing via Outlook? Simply set up the Exchange account on the device and sync directly to it.

Hi Cynthia! If you are syncing from something like Gmail you can go into the iPhones Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>(account you are syncing)> and turn off contacts. It will ask you if you want to delete them from your phone - just click delete. Exit Settings and turn phone off by power button (not all the way OFF). Then re-open Settings>mail, Contacts, Calendars>(account you are syncing)> and turn Contacts back on - This is where you need to be careful - When you turn contacts back on you will be prompted to delete or save the contacts already on your phone. CLICK DELETE. You should now have only your synced contacts on your phone! Hope it helps!

I was a Palm user. My Palm made portable all contact info, calendar, tasks and notes in very helpful way. But after I lost my calendar on PalmDesktop twice in one month, decided I needed a different solutio and bought iPhone 4.
Arduous process of transferring different categories/subgroups of contacts to Outlook (yes, I have a PC) and finding that some data just does not map right. Then tried to sync with iPhone only to find that most of data can't be mapped to the meager number of fields it looks like are available on the iPhone. Is there a way to add fields? A good app for this?
Also, need an app for tasks and calendar (no weekly view).

Yes, from Outlook it will only sync Calender, Contacts from you mail accounts. No subfolders and no Task Manager. Maybe there will be changes in the iOS 5.
In the App Store you can search for "task manager". There are some options, but study them carefully before you buy any.

HT1296 trying to sync iPhone contacts to mac book pro

I am trying to sync my iphone 5s contacts to my mac book pro. I am told to go to itunes and click the sync contacts tab but my itunes window doesnt have a sync contacts tab

I understand that there should be a 'sync' button somewhere in iCloud/calendar.
Mine doesn't have any reference at all to sync.. so how did we do that again?

My iphone says that it is version 7.1.2 in the settings. My computer is a Dell with Windows 8.1. I was able to get the devices to sync for music and pictures, but not the contacts. Would the contacts be saved in Outlook on my computer?

When I try to sync my calendar and contacts to google I get a ssl error. I try using the sync without and still get unable to verify. I've gone to advance and set the port to 443 as well

Keep in mind that turning off 2-step verification reduces the level of security associated with the Google account. If you want to maintain it and sync your google contacts, here is what to do:
Access your Google account settings. If you are in Gmail, simply click on your e-mail address in the upper-right corner and select the 'Account' link.
Click 'Security' in the left sidebar. Then click 'Settings' under the 2-Step Verification section.
You will be prompted to sign in again. Once done, click the 'Manage application-specific passwords' link.
Follow the instructions to generate a new application-specific password.
Use this password to log in as directed in the base CardDAV login process.

The contacts on your old iPhone should be available on your computer. Contacts are designed to be synced with a supported address book application on your computer. If your contacts are not available with an address book application on your computer, what would you do in the event your iPhone were lost or stolen?

Syncing Outlook contacts/calendars to iCloud? Back up .pst file first!

I see many people are having issues with losing calendars and contacts, or getting duplicates, when turning on iCloud "sync to Outlook" option. Suggestion, if you haven't already messed things up - save a renamed copy of your Outlook (2007 or 2010) "outlook.pst" file (or whatever .pst file holds your personal Outlook data) BEFORE you start. In a worst case, you can always turn iCloud off and replace the .pst file with the backup, and you will have your calendar and contacts (as of that date) as they were. (Outlook account settings - Data Files - Open File Location).
I have managed not to need it yet, but glad I have it. I still have occasional Calendar items disappearing from Outlook - work shifts, not good! Hopefully Apple will make this easier! Great when it works!

Trying to sync 4gb nano after loading icloud... the artist list is missing; under devices, music, selected playlists... the artists are GONE! and I cannot sync at all

after plugging in the usb and attaching my nano... I attempted to sync, but the entire LIST of artists is missing from the music tab... the playlists are still there, but nothing will sync... and the little SYNC check has been clicked....

I don't understand. Won't the new iphone sync with itunes and icloud, assuming you have provided the Apple ID and password for the icloud? Serial numbers cannot be used to connect to itunes or icloud. Or am I misunderstanding your post?
